Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. best glue to keep rubber tips attached to the tongs?

A: Loctite Marine Epoxy.

Q: 2. Are these stainless steel or aluminum? The title and material specs are different.

A: Yes, the following 15mm rod are made of stainless steel material.

Q: 3. How many oz or ml does this tank take for one 120 reel?

A: Kalt Stainless Steel Developing Tank for One 120 Reel takes 15oz of liquid in order to have the reel submerged.

Q: 4. What is the minimum height when open? It is not specified.

A: The Neewer Stainless Steel C-Stand with Casters (10') BH #NE66600100 has a minimum height of 5.6'.

Q: 5. How much liquid should I be putting in for one spool of 35mm film?

A: The easiest way to find the amount needed would be to put the empty film reels into the tank. Then you may pour water into the tank until the reel is completely covered. You may then pour the water from the tank into a measuring graduate or a measuring cup. You may then use the listed amount as your measurement for developing your film. As a rough guestimate, you may use approximately 240 mL (roughly 8 ounces) of fluid.

Q: 6. Does it include reel?

A: No, it does not include a reel I would highly recommend the Hewes stainless steel reels. They are more expensive, but most of the others on the market are only a half-step above junk.

Q: 7. Will this tank hold two 35 mm reels?

A: Yes, it holds two 35 mm reels, or one 120 roll film and reel.

Q: 8. Can the cross bar / boom arm be set to a 90 degree angle? I would like to be able to use it to do some top down photography.

A: The boom arm on the Neewer Stainless Steel C-Stand with Casters and Boom Arm (10') BH #NE66600099 can be set to a 90 degree angle.

Q: 9. How much chemistry do you use? At this small level is the chemistry strong enough to develop the film?

A: Use 300 ml of chemistry in this tank. This is pretty much standard for 35 mm film tanks like the Patterson, and others. Rodinal at 1+50, HC-110 at 1:31, DD-X at 1+4, all work well in this tank at 300 ml. I would recommend the Hewes reel as some of the other stainless reels are cheaply made and not very good.

Q: 10. How do you easily open & close the legs? Is there a trick I’m missing? I’m finding it very difficult to do without a 2nd person.

A: The Neewer Stainless Steel C-Stand with Casters and Boom Arm (10') can be a bit tricky but should not be too hard to open and close. Make sure the boom is straight up and not horizontal, which should help.

[36 x 96 x 10"] I use this to get the temperature to process C-41 film. It developed the film pretty good so I'm guessing this is accurate. Easy to use, although I don't like using the handle it comes with because it just gets in the way.
