The red ProMediaGear BBGV2 Boomerang Flash Bracket Redis designed for use with larger cameras with a battery grip. It features a unique 90° rotating design to allow the flash to remain upright when shooting in either horizontal or vertical orientations. Facilitating the movement from 0 to 90°, rotational bearings help to provide smooth movement and a quick transition between both shooting positions.

This connection method affords more room between the bracket and the camera while also providing unrestricted access to the camera's battery compartment. Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Looks like a great bracket! How about a left hand version?

A: This one is not reversible, but they do sell a left side version. Heck, you can mount one one both sides!

Q: 2. Can this model be also used with a camera that does not have or if I choose not to use the battery grip?

A: No, it would not. According to ProMediaGear, the ProMediaGear BBGV2 Boomerang Flash Bracket (Blue) will NOT work on standard sized DSLRs because the lens will hit the arc on the Boomerang Rotation Bracket. For use with DSLR cameras that do not have a built-in grip or those used without the optional grip, the ProMediaGear BBX Boomerang Flash Bracket with Universal QR Plate (Blue, Right-Handed), B&H # PRBBXPBX3BDB, would be recommended for your usage needs.

Q: 3. The listed weight is 1lb, but what is it for the Titanium version?

A: The BBX series of flash bracket: Weight: 15.2 oz - 432 grams (12.7 oz - 361 grams without Plate) The titanium is an anodized process, not actually a titanium arm (silver). The weight is the same on all colors.

Q: 4. Can this be used on the left or right side of the camera?

A: Yes, the ProMediaGear Paparazzi Bracket can be used on either side of the camera, which is demonstrated in the images for the product.

Q: 5. What are the pros and cons to titanium vs. aluminum? I curious as to why titanium is cheaper???

A: The BBGv2 is designed for cameras with a grip or taller bodied cameras. The material is all T6061 Aircraft Aluminum and anodized black. The only titanium piece is the front rotation area. We use that for wear resistance. The BBGv2 in Titanium (color) is just anodized in a silver Titanium finish put on the arm. It's still Aluminum. The price is in violation of our sales policy. Pick it up quick! It's suppose to be $362.45!

Q: 6. Will this work if you have a battery grip on the camera?

A: Yes, The BBX is Universal and will adjust to fit both standard DSLR's and Taller Bodies or Bodies with Grip. The only thing to be aware of is that when going into a vertical photo on taller cameras or cameras with grip the quick disconnect knob will be in the webbing of your thumb and first finger. This is only noticeable if you use the trigger button mounted on the battery or bottom side of taller bodied cameras. If you use a taller bodied camera or camera with grip all the time check out the ProMediaGear BBG. This design is specifically for those cameras and will not work with standard DSLR's. The disconnect feature is different on the BBG and won't interfere with any traditional shooting style.

Q: 7. How is this different from version I that was discontinued?

A: The difference in design is the discontinued version only works with tall cameras like ones with a battery grip. The new version can work with a camera with or without a grip.

Q: 8. Can this bracket be attached to a tripod or monopod?

A: Absolutely. The Bracket Plate on the Bottom (PBX3-BD) is Arca Type. 1.5 width. To attach to non-Arca Standard Heads there are 1/4-20 screw holes on the bottom to mount a plate.

Q: 9. Will this work with a RRS L Bracket?

A: The BBX Boomerang Flash Bracket comes complete with a Universal Arca Swiss Bracket Plate specifically designed for the Flash Bracket. To use RRS or similar Arca plates and L-Brackets PMG Manufactures a CB60 Clamp that will allow you to use your current plate and lock it into the Arca-Type clamp that will allow the Flash Bracket to install onto the side. You will need to purchase the BBX or BBGv2 Boomerang Flash Bracket and also the CB60 Clamp with BBX mounting pins.

Q: 10. How long is the camera base?

A: The ProMediaGear Paparazzi Bracket uses their PBX3 Universal Bracket Plate which is 3.0" / 7.6 cm long. The included bracket piece which can mount on either side would add a bit of length to that.

[Aluminum] It is good, one setback, the screw was unable to move, I need to replace with my own purchased screw which I bought sometime back.
Though is a small screw, but it add to customers experiences.

[Red] The highest quality and sturdiness of a flash bracket I have ever seen. Tremendously expensive, but I expect it to last for many years. Convenient to shift between landscape and portrait mode within seconds. After this impressing experience I have ordered more stuff from ProMediaGear.

[Aluminum] This is one beautiful bracket. I bought the red bracket. It is sturdy and easy to assemble. I attached it to my Canon 7D Mark II with battery grip and it is a nice fit.

It is simple to rotate for horizontal or vertical shooting.

Now I have not used it long (less than a month) but I feel that it will last years because of its durability.
