With its adjustable flash arm, the right-handed red ProMediaGear BBX2 Boomerang Flash Bracket QR Plate Redfits most DSLR and mirrorless cameras. It features a unique 90° rotating design that allows the flash to remain upright when shooting in either horizontal or vertical orientations, and it folds down for compact carrying. Facilitating the movement from 0 to 90°, rotational bearings help to provide smooth movement and a quick transition between both shooting positions. Also, this right-handed version places the bracket on the right side of the camera for convenient access and control.

The bracket attaches to the camera via an Arca-type compatible quick release plate. This connection method affords more room between the bracket and the camera while also providing unrestricted access to the camera's battery compartment. A user-supplied compatible flash cord is necessary for operation.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What hand do you hold the bracket with?

A: This bracket is made for use on the right side of the camera in front of the camera's grip where your right hand will go. It doesn't appear that you have to hold the bracket but you'd use your right hand to control the movements.

Q: 2. How is this different from version I that was discontinued?

A: The difference in design is the discontinued version only works with tall cameras like ones with a battery grip. The new version can work with a camera with or without a grip.

Q: 3. Can this be used comfortably with Black Rapid R-Straps?

A: yes sure this its the best bracket you can buy its realy comfortably you can even grab the bracket it self with you free hand to have more estability i use it with rapid straps and its fine

Q: 4. What are the pros and cons to titanium vs. aluminum? I curious as to why titanium is cheaper???

A: The BBGv2 is designed for cameras with a grip or taller bodied cameras. The material is all T6061 Aircraft Aluminum and anodized black. The only titanium piece is the front rotation area. We use that for wear resistance. The BBGv2 in Titanium (color) is just anodized in a silver Titanium finish put on the arm. It's still Aluminum. The price is in violation of our sales policy. Pick it up quick! It's suppose to be $362.45!

Q: 5. Looks like a great bracket! How about a left hand version?

A: This one is not reversible, but they do sell a left side version. Heck, you can mount one one both sides!

Q: 6. Can this bracket be attached to a tripod or monopod?

A: Absolutely. The Bracket Plate on the Bottom (PBX3-BD) is Arca Type. 1.5 width. To attach to non-Arca Standard Heads there are 1/4-20 screw holes on the bottom to mount a plate.

Q: 7. Does the BBX come with a CS2 Cold Shoe? I see that someone asked this question for the BBGV2 and THAT bracket does come with the CS2. Does the BBX come with one as well?

A: The BBX and BBGv2 Boomerang Flash Bracket comes with (1) CS2 cold shoe.

Q: 8. The listed weight is 1lb, but what is it for the Titanium version?

A: The BBX series of flash bracket: Weight: 15.2 oz - 432 grams (12.7 oz - 361 grams without Plate) The titanium is an anodized process, not actually a titanium arm (silver). The weight is the same on all colors.

Q: 9. How long is the camera base?

A: The ProMediaGear Paparazzi Bracket uses their PBX3 Universal Bracket Plate which is 3.0" / 7.6 cm long. The included bracket piece which can mount on either side would add a bit of length to that.

Q: 10. Is this a good flash bracket for wildlife photography? Someone recommended it, but I am not sure how it will work with a Better Beamer. Most of the articles I saw had this picture attached to the Gimbal head. I am not sure if it will work as well attached to the camera. Any opinions or suggestions would be appreciated.

A: It gets you farther away from the camera which helps with long lenses, so it will be unlikely to cast a shadow. It is easy to use on a gimbal head since it is a arca plate on the bottom, so it will fit right into any gimbal.

[1.55 lb] This thing is built like a tank. I took it on a birding trip after I got it and it is made to last for generations. There is some clever engineering that went into it as well including onboard storage for one of the hex keys that are needed to work it. Unfortunately there are multiple sizes of hex key needed - so I still have to carry a bag. Oh well - I have room in my camera bag for such a tiny piece of extra kit.
This is somewhat non-intuitive to unfold and configure the first time. Once you get it you will really understand - but the included directions are not great. I get that a 2d medium can make it hard to portray a 3d object - particularly in motion. ProMediaGear does have a YouTube channel - but there are a TON of videos out there and a seemingly endless array of these brackets - each with a slightly different methodology. Made it incredibly difficult to find the right video and I actually figured it all out before I found the correct video (almost all of it - missed the height adjuster). Placing a QR Code on the outside of the box that takes you straight to the video about how to put it together and use it would be outstanding. Putting the same code on the instructions would be great as well. I think most people could figure it out within a few minutes - but why not do the link? The video actually presents some features and benefits I might not have used otherwise.
Regardless of all of the above - this is a well built product. If you do event photography or BiF photos then this is a great investment and given the quality - it seems like it will be a one time investment.

[1.55 lb] This is exactly what I have been looking for. It is solid and well made. The other brackets I have tend to become loose while shooting and flop around at critical moments. Everything on this bracket clicks into place. It takes a bit of practice to fold and unfold it, but it is actually very easy. It doesn't have a quick release attachment for the camera like the BBX2. But, it is still easy to attach and remove, plus the hex key fits into a magnetic slot on the bracket. It's a bit expensive, but I think it will be worth it.

[Aluminum] I really love this new BBX boomerang. I attached a Canon 5D Mark III with a power battery power grip and a Profoto B2 flash head. Excellent result. Easy to use. Has a little weight that I managed to handle. I'm a 54 years old professional photographer. I have no problem at all.

[Flash Rotating] I've used many different flash bracket over the years and haven't found one with limitations until I got this bracket. I'm currently using this bracket with my Profoto B2. It's simply the best bracket design I've came across so far.
