Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. can i use for 5dmkiv with 600ex RT?

A: The BBGv2 will work with the 5d4 but requires the battery grip. The BBGv2 is a taller bracket and designed specifically for taller bodied cameras such as the 1Dx2, Nikon D5 etc.... or any DSLR with a Battery Grip. The BBX is our Universal version Boomerang and designed for standard DSLR's, smaller bodied cameras or taller bodied cameras. It's adjustable to accommodate everything. The BBX will have the disconnect pin in the webbing on your thumb and first finger when shooting portrait / vertical. The BBGv2 is not adjustable up / down. The benefit of the BBGv2 with the correct camera is the ability to access the trigger and shutter function buttons conveniently when shooting in portrait / vertical mode. The U shaped design makes this very comfortable and has nothing blocking your fingers. All Boomerangs come complete with a CS2 low profile cold shoe to mount your flash.

Q: 2. Looks like a great bracket! How about a left hand version?

A: This one is not reversible, but they do sell a left side version. Heck, you can mount one one both sides!

Q: 3. Does the BBX come with a CS2 Cold Shoe? I see that someone asked this question for the BBGV2 and THAT bracket does come with the CS2. Does the BBX come with one as well?

A: The BBX and BBGv2 Boomerang Flash Bracket comes with (1) CS2 cold shoe.

Q: 4. Will this work if you have a battery grip on the camera?

A: Yes, The BBX is Universal and will adjust to fit both standard DSLR's and Taller Bodies or Bodies with Grip. The only thing to be aware of is that when going into a vertical photo on taller cameras or cameras with grip the quick disconnect knob will be in the webbing of your thumb and first finger. This is only noticeable if you use the trigger button mounted on the battery or bottom side of taller bodied cameras. If you use a taller bodied camera or camera with grip all the time check out the ProMediaGear BBG. This design is specifically for those cameras and will not work with standard DSLR's. The disconnect feature is different on the BBG and won't interfere with any traditional shooting style.

Q: 5. Is it include a CS2: Low Profile Cold Shoe ?

A: Yes. It comes with a cold shoe.

Q: 6. Can this be used on the left or right side of the camera?

A: Yes, the ProMediaGear Paparazzi Bracket can be used on either side of the camera, which is demonstrated in the images for the product.

Q: 7. The listed weight is 1lb, but what is it for the Titanium version?

A: The BBX series of flash bracket: Weight: 15.2 oz - 432 grams (12.7 oz - 361 grams without Plate) The titanium is an anodized process, not actually a titanium arm (silver). The weight is the same on all colors.

Q: 8. Will this work with a RRS L Bracket?

A: The BBX Boomerang Flash Bracket comes complete with a Universal Arca Swiss Bracket Plate specifically designed for the Flash Bracket. To use RRS or similar Arca plates and L-Brackets PMG Manufactures a CB60 Clamp that will allow you to use your current plate and lock it into the Arca-Type clamp that will allow the Flash Bracket to install onto the side. You will need to purchase the BBX or BBGv2 Boomerang Flash Bracket and also the CB60 Clamp with BBX mounting pins.

Q: 9. Can this be used comfortably with Black Rapid R-Straps?

A: yes sure this its the best bracket you can buy its realy comfortably you can even grab the bracket it self with you free hand to have more estability i use it with rapid straps and its fine

Q: 10. How is this different from version I that was discontinued?

A: The difference in design is the discontinued version only works with tall cameras like ones with a battery grip. The new version can work with a camera with or without a grip.

[1.58 lb] I use this to mount a B2 (which requires an adaptor- not included). As far as on camera flash goes, the Boomerang BBGV2 is hands-down the best option. It's incredibly build and insanely modular. I purchased a side handle to attach to the other side of plate so that I didn't have to put undue pressure on the lens mount when raising my camera from my side (I shoot on the 1DXII so the rig gets heavy). Pros: Best build I've seen. Quickly- and securely- transition to portrait orientation Incredibly modular Cons: Expensive There are other options for brackets if all you have is a speedlight. For my purposes of rocking a B2, however, this bracket is the best option there is.

[Aluminum] Flash brackets are often a necessary evil when using a powerful flash. I use the Canon EL-1 Speedlite and with its instant recycling and power comes weight. I often worry about hanging that kind of weight off the hot shoe on my Canon R5. Plus the problem shooting a vertical means the flash is off to the side.

When you use a hot shoe mounted flash, the light hits the subject straight on and is typically not as flattering as elevating the flash slightly.

Using the ProMediaGear BBGV2 Boomerang Flash Bracket solves a couple of issues. (1) the weight of the flash is now supported by the bracket and (2) switching from vertical to horizontal is quick and easy. The bracket raises the flash above the lens and avoids the straight-on flash which tends to make your shots contrasty and harsh.

Not svelte and sexy the ProMediaGear bracket looks like something a machinist would design but it gets the job done. What's cool is that the bracket locks into position and a squeeze of the little handle unlocks it.

[Aluminum] The highest quality and sturdiness of a flash bracket I have ever seen. Tremendously expensive, but I expect it to last for many years. Convenient to shift between landscape and portrait mode within seconds. After this impressing experience I have ordered more stuff from ProMediaGear.

[1.58 lb] This is one beautiful bracket. I bought the red bracket. It is sturdy and easy to assemble. I attached it to my Canon 7D Mark II with battery grip and it is a nice fit.

It is simple to rotate for horizontal or vertical shooting.

Now I have not used it long (less than a month) but I feel that it will last years because of its durability.

[1.58 lb] This bracket finally meets my need for a NON WOBBLY bracket, that puts your flash over the lens for vertical shots (SWING RIGHT) so I can quickly utilize my batt grip and controls. I was searching for something like this bracket and waisted time and money on lesser brands that, honestly, did not do the trick. This bracket has it all ... QD socket (which I personally don't trust or use on any of my expensive gear.) It also has multiple 1/4-20 thread holes on every surface, making it so useful for any mod attachment. It even has a locking cam arm bar for quick switch from vert to horizontal when you run and gun candids. And best of all IT'S THE MOST SOLID BRACKET I'VE USED so far which is very important to me, so I will end this review saying the money spent is worth this purchase. For a bracket with this balance and ease of use I would have paid more. My equipment used on it is.... Cannon R-5 w/batt grip & Cannon Speedlite 1100.
