Supporting up to 32 lb, the Matthews Infinity Arm for Archery Accessoriesis a super-strength, modular cine arm that may highly simplify your on-set workflow. Supporting nine different accessory tips via secure ball sockets on both ends, it's designed to serve you well across the gamut of grip applications, such as mounting cameras, lights, and monitors underslung from C-stands, booms, or speed rails. Two 1/4"-20 male accessory tips and a 3/8"-16 male tip are included, and a soft carrying case is also supplied for storing the arm and additional tips, providing room for growth.

The Infinity Arm is made of two identical sections and measures 9" from end to end without tips. Its strength is the result of superior materials of construction and machining processes. It's built out of steel and aircraft-grade aluminum, and it features a 60-section radial rosette in the center machined with a focus on getting a good grip at every section. The Infinity Arm will reliably hold 15 lb when in a fully horizontal position—which is naturally the least strong position—and up to 32 lb when you start adjusting it to more angled positions, with a 90° angle being its strongest configuration.

The rosette mechanism is adjustable by loosening/tightening a large knurled, easy-to-handle dial on the side. The supported accessory tips are fully 360° rotatable. On top of everything, the Infinity Arm has a nice appearance and is neither overdone nor underdone in its aesthetic design. It is finished with military-grade black anodized and proprietary electroless nickel-phosphorus. And, although designed with a focus on grip applications, it can also be used for standard camera-mount and rig-mount uses.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the weight capacity?

A: Matthews does not specify a weight load limit. You will need to consider the load strength of your light stand and if it can handle the off axis weight of the arm.

Q: 2. Does this arm allow for the simultaneous use of two small video cameras? I'm envisioning something that would mount on top of a stable tripod allowing me to shoot with two video cameras at the same time (one for a wide shot, the other for close-ups). Thanks.

A: This has only two attachment points. One goes to the device being mounted, the other to the mounting platform. So I am not seeing a way to mount two cameras with this. I think the Vanguard Multi-Mount 6 Tripod Utility Bar B&H # VAMM6 is more of what you will need.

Q: 3. What is the screw diameter on the arm ends?

A: The manufacturer does not publish this spec, which reportedly is 1/4 20" on one end and 3/8 on the opposite.

Q: 4. I bought a Matthews Infinity Arm, but one of them lost its friction. Do you have any recommendations for repairing it?

A: Matthews warranty services will need to assist you with the Matthews Infinity Arm.

Q: 5. Does the two 5/8" pins pins have the "Anti-Twist Knurling"? Or is it just "glossy and smooth" without this rough surface where the screw should be screwed into the pin?

A: All of the 5/8" Baby pins have the Anti-Twist Knurling.

Q: 6. What is the warranty for the Infinity Arm?

A: Limited 1-Year Warranty

Q: 7. Does the arm joint still movable without fully loosen like bright tangerine? I want to know if the arm still movable(not the rosette point but two joint of mounting point) or not And does this arms cheese plate are compatible with manfrotto super clamp? I saw a picture product demomstraion using manfrotto(i guess) superclamp and chesseplate So want to know this is right

A: Thank you. I wondered if the clamp is compatible with cheese plate to prevent my camera from spinning. So i think i solved my problem thankyou.

Q: 8. Does this arm allow for extensions to make it 3 or 4 times longer? Like what Zacuto does?

A: The two arms of the Infinity Arm are of fixed length. However, spare ball heads are available from Matthews which can be screwed into an extension rod to make the arms longer. Naturally, the useable length of any extension will depend on the load you put on it. An extension rod of about 5/8 diameter would be useful to mount lights, etc, on the arms. I am in the process of making some of these about 6 long but this requires a lathe although any small engineering company could machine these for you. Much easier is that B&H sells 5/8 (16mm) rigging rods (of various lengths with 1/4 and 3/8 holes in the ends called 9.SOLUTIONS 16mm Rod Set (5.9 ) B&H # 9S9VBROD5 MFR # 9.VBROD5The Matthews Infinity Arm seems expensive at first sight but I am using it professionally and can assure you that it is absolutely solid, easy to use and extremely well made. The quick-change ball heads make it really easy to change items to mount almost anything onto it. I use it for holding a clip with camera shots or scripts or lights, mics or a monitor. Matthews customer service is great as I had some questions about the size of the Arm which Matthews took great trouble to answer in detail. It seemed expensive when I bought it (although B&H, as always, were cheaper than buying it in England which is why I buy a lot from B&H!) but I am glad I did as it is well worth the cost and seems better than anything else although I suggest you check its weight. I use mine mounted onto my Miller tripod head so the weight doesn't matter but it might if you had to carry it around a lot. It's a really well-made solid piece of professional engineering. Both Matthews' and B&H's service were superb.

Q: 9. What's is the maximum weight this can hold?

A: As per Matthews, this Hollywood Junior Offset Arm would hold up to 30 lbs.

Q: 10. What is the warranty for the Matthews Infinity Arm?

A: Limited 1-Year Warranty

[Aluminum] I was tired of replacing busted friction arms every couple of months and on a whim of frustration clicked the buy button on this expensive arm. Well, it's worth every penny as it should be able to withstand a whole career's worth of use. It's a tank!

I use it to hold my caged Atomos Shogun to my FS5. The picture is meant to test the worst case positioning, which it did without a problem.

[Aluminum] MSE grip site explains very well the arm. Get all the needed connectors and it will be useful.

[Aluminum] While the arm may be a bit big, or heavy, for many smaller accessories or uses, it gives you way more control over what you can attach to your camera. Also, its sockets are replaceable which is incredibly relieving because sockets on most articulating arms break or deteriorate very quickly, generally forcing you to replace the entire arm, rather than just the broken part; however, with the Infinity Arm you are able to just replace the broken socket.

[1.85 lb] I was tired of buying arms that would only last a couple months before falling apart. This arm is way over built.

[1.85 lb] Strong, reliable, and the quick change tips are just great; this arm is the best you can buy.

[Aluminum] You won't find a better arm for heavy monitors. Don't be surprised if they come out with more sizes. It is pricey, but it has never failed on me. I use for my Odyssey 7q recorder that usually has two sony batteries on the back and is crazy heavy. The fact that you can pop the ends off these with out un screwing the thread is what makes this worth it's price on set.

[Aluminum] This thing is expensive, but I only wanted one adjustable arm in my grip kit that could do it all. (I have a smaller cheap one for on camera mounting of monitors and whatnot)

I feel good mounting a mirrorless camera with a heavy lens, LED lights running on battery power, or most anything that's needed. Combine this with a few good clamps and you're off and running.

As far as attachments go, I was going to buy the male light stand mount but I found a 1/4 20 threaded male light stand adapter in my grip bag that I already had. That saved me close to $30.

[1.85 lb] IDK why people think this is pricey??? Given that EVERY friggin cine arm I’ve ever had gets worn raw within a few months of normal use, this is the cheapest arm on the market, because you normally have to buy 3 Cine arms per year, so you’ll be $2K in the hole before this one even breaks a sweat. This is a tank. It’s so nice to feel confident enough to put my heavy Odyssey on it AND use it as a top handle. It never budges. I can mount the entire camera with it for birds eye shots over talent and not even sweat it. The knob (instead of lever) makes for a great grip point, and you won’t ever accidentally unlock the arm the way you can with other cine arms. The crazy strength of this thing also allows you to use its own grip torque to tighten your mount heads, so it’s like its own wrench...makes it really easy to field strip your gear quickly, without tools. The removable head system is beyond clutch. I just have mounts that live on all my cameras and monitors and lights, and swapping things out or packing up is so much more efficient. This is a truly brilliant design and I don’t know why it took so long for someone to conceive such an intuitive innovation on the cine arm. Whoever designed this is a sage.
I film a lot of wild land fires and am exposed to perhaps the harshest environmental conditions imaginable...ash, sparks, water, retardant, soot, molten metal, bros...this thing literally has never had a problem. Never shows any sign of grip loss. The rosette always locks. This is an absolute tank that will last you for years. Dollar cost average that out. You’ll realize this is easily the cheapest arm on the market.

[1.85 lb] I'v been using these arms since they came out decades ago. Clearly this is the best ever. It's a good length. It's strong and won't move once its set. Also the removable ball heads are wonderful only to be seen on these arms. Worth the price totally.
