[0.05 lb] The amazing quality and performance doesn't reflect in the price.  I've looked through many spotters that cost substantially more than the Zeiss Gavia. Other products just can't compete with the low light and clarity you get with the Gavia.  This is the best spotting scope for the money.

[49 mm] a lot of thought and care went into the design and build.  it is very well made, and no doubt in my mind it will hold the biggest bino out there very securely.  Stud mounts onto the bino, slides into adapter where it clicks into place, then you push down on the lever to pressure lock the stud effectively giving you a double locking.

[0.05 lb] This is an extremely well made scope with very sharp optics and strong, yet elegant mechanical features. A joy to use.

[49 mm] After years of using a Kowa TSN4 it is a pleasure to look at a bright sharp true color image that does not shrink when you zoom in for maximum magnification. I didn’t notice any curvature or blurring toward the edges of the image. Focusing is very easy. The scope is well balanced mounted directly on a Berlebach 553 head, but it may be a good idea to engage the spring on the head that prevents tipping forward or backwards too quickly, since the center of gravity is above the fulcrum and the scope weighs about 5lbs.

[0.05 lb] This thing is built like it was designed for military use, thick rubber all around, completely sealed and without any protruding delicate parts.
The optics is great, sharp and bright.
I think it's a fantastic scope, that can be used even without a tripod, just hold it against something and it works.
The only slightly negative thing I could find is the focusing mechanism, it's quite stiff and located at the front, but it's really not a huge deal, you can get used to it.

[0.05 lb] I was fortunate to win the coveted Montana super tag for deer in 2019. I had bought this scope prior to even knowing I had won as I needed a good spotter for here in Montana. I packed this thing with me almost everywhere in my excursions this fall. We spent 40 days in the field between August and November and in all kinds of weather conditions from 100 degrees to below zero. I can tell you not one time did I think “I should have bought another scope.” I spent hours behind this scope and other than the standard one eye closed fatigue my right eye never felt strained or overworked at all. I digiscoped both video and photos even at 4K levels that were gorgeous and clear. I subjected this to rain, sleet, hail, many miles of bumps and rattles. It took it all like a champ. I love this scope. I’d buy it again if that’s what you want to know. Don’t overlook this spotter in your search.

[0.05 lb] Well machined adapter that fits perfect on the Zeiss eyepiece and has precise filter threads.   I experimented with several lens/camera combinations and the Canon “pancake” lenses seemed to provide the best field of view without vignetting.  The closer the diameter of the front element to the width of the eyepiece lens the better the result.  The EF 40mm/2.8 STM on the full frame, the EF-S 24mm/2.8 STM on the APS-C, and the EF-M 22mm/2 STM on the M series (but the Macro 28mm/3.5 IS STM also worked well).   I prefer the Canon M6 because of the focus peaking feature to optimize focus, and the lightest weight configuration.   The Zeiss adapters come in only three sizes so you will need a filter ring adapter to match your lens.

[0.05 lb] This mount is very well made, simple to install on the binocular (in my case Conquest 10X HD) with a 1/4-20 female thread on the bottom. Added bonus, the base is tapered to fit Manfrotto tripod quick disconnect mount, which I use. If you get tired of hand help, this works great.

Installations is simple: 1) push button on mount and remove the stud form the mount. 2) remove the dust cap on the hinge of the binoc. 3) Screw the mount stud into the binoc and when snug, screw the small set screw to keep stud from un-threading. 4) Secure the mount to a tripod of your choice. 5) Simply slide binoc with stud into the mount and ensure the top button engages it to lock. 6) lift the lever to secure the binoc tight to the mount and lock the pitch (cant).

To remove, lower lever, push button and slide off the binoc. No need to remove the stud on the binoc. I mention this because a previous review mentions you need to remove the stud every time. You do not - maybe this will help them.

All in all a great product!
