A: There's a millisecond between the time you press the shutter release until the image shows. Maybe slightly longer at higher resolutions Compared to other cameras I've had it's almost unnoticeable. A: I love my G7X MKII - use it for both photo and video, great little camera, but mine doesn't make the noises you describe, maybe take it to a camera shop and ask them what they think or try to contact Canon directly?
