Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this mic work properly off 15v church fixed phantom power?

A: This mic will operate properly on a range of 44 to 52 Volts phantom power.

Q: 2. I need a hypercardioid mic for interior dialogue recording on a boom pole. Is it possible the this mic can deliver in such a task? Or is it too heavy. Too bulky? Thanks.

A: I use this mic in our studio on a C-stand and hand held for street interviews. I do have some shoots coming up in August where I am going to purchase a boom for it. It's definitely bulkier than a choir mic, but I love the sound (don't forget to put the hypercardioid adapter on it that comes in the box).Hope that helps,Jeff

Q: 3. Is there a mic capsule power supply like Sennheiser offers available for purchase?

A: Thank you for your question. This unit does not have a capsule power supply available, you will only need to connect to a mic pre amp that can provide +48V of Phantom power

Q: 4. is this an output to thunderbolt 3 for mac?

A: Apollo Twin is compatible with all Apple Mac computers that have an available Thunderbolt, Thunderbolt 2, or Thunderbolt 3 port. For Mac computers that feature Thunderbolt 3 via USB-C, a Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt adapter is required.

Q: 5. Is this compatible with the Bolt PP-500DR power pack?

A: You can use this with a PP-500DR.

Q: 6. Please provide Country or Origin for AKG GN30 ?

A: The country of origin is Taiwan.

Q: 7. will this microphone plug into a audio press box, model APB-116 P?

A: Not this version. You will want to use the one that comes with a 3-pin XLR cable.

Q: 8. could this mic be used to amplify wood vibrations such as drums or even a piece of wood?

A: This would be an excellent mic for your application

Q: 9. Does it actually cut the recycle time to 0.5 s when operating an on-camera flash on full power?

A: Yes and no. The flash recycle time is so fast, it's hard to truly time the action with just ones seances. 0.5 of a second is quick, so with measuring equipment one could get an exact refresh rate. So yes, the flash recycle time certainly feels incredibly fast, very very very fast. Is it exactly 0.5s faster. Probably.

Q: 10. What is the Country of Origin for this product?

A: Hi Jennifer, The country of origin for this product is Taiwan.

[Phantom Power] Great mic with great sound for the price. I have 6 of them now. I use them as overheads for drums, guitar amps, and also as choir mics. I only had to perform a couple of EQ curves. Understand it's not just the mic that needs to sound good. The preamp, mixing console, amps, speaker system and room acoustics all play a role in the overall sound. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.

[Figure-8] It's great for me. Is the only option in market for me too... but it works perfect. The only thing, to be better, the cable could be thicker, to get a longer life. But the sound is very good, and easy to use.

[Figure-8] I feel fully satisfied with my recently purchased AKG C411 PP condenser pick up. I bought it after my Schertler DYN-E transducer microphone, that surprisingly went bad during a concert after mic check Schertler was much more expensive than this AKG mic.I was really anxious to know if this new mic works for me. I fixed the new AKG in the position where I used to use my earlier Schertler mic. It was about one inch below the bridge on the side of main string. I was amazed with the sound quality! I found it just right! The frequency responses of both low and high were just right for my ears. It gave very clean sound, I was totally satisfied. I just used it once till now with a sound system that was not very expensive one.. I have another concert in a very prestigious auditorium on the 14 September. I shall see if this works in a high end sound system as good it was during the earlier concert.I strongly recommend this microphone for amplifying plucked string instruments including the sitar. [Figure-8] This is a very wonderful microphone. From the very first voice recording I ever made, I loved how my voice sounded. It seemed to isolate my voice, like I was speaking in a padded room. I couldn't believe how defined and precise my voice sounded. I believe it keeps my voice very accurate, and very clean. It picks up my voice very good without getting any noise from my computer in the background. It is very sensitive, and very powerful. I use 50% gain on my Scarlett USB interface. This microphone is supposed to be more forgiving on Vocals than the older P220 model which was extremely bright on top. The P120 is slightly bright, but not metallic or shrill. It's a very precise clean bright sound, that really makes your voice clear. I don't notice any residual harmonic distortion, so the circuitry is obviously very good. No hiss, or background buzz whatsoever. I think if this microphone cost $200, people would be buying it like crazy.

[9.8' / 3 m] The C411pp produces a reasonably accurate reproduction of the sound of my O-hole mandolin and classical guitar. The signal is strong (I set the guitar below unity), giving me plenty of headroom on my mixer. The pickup goes on easily and comes off easily. I wish the putty was a little less sticky; you have to be careful to get if all off the surface of the instrument.

[Mono] I find this pickup to work incredibly well on a variety of instruments including upright bass, mandolin (octave and regular size), cello and guitar. I'm sure there are more, yet this is what I've used them on so far. Because the unit is so easily mounted and dismounted (simply press it in place and pull it off when done), you can put it anywhere on the instrument to find it's sweet spot. This creates a lot more possibilities than a fixed bridge or internally mounted pickup and since it's not a permanent installation will give you maximum pure acoustic sound when it's dismounted. The AKG 411 series sound much more natural than other pickups I've used or heard others use. I chose the 411-PP (Phantom Power) model because I run it straight into a phantom powered mixer. This mixer feeds a Bose L1 PAS system and sounds amazing. When I use the 411-PP with an amp, I use a little 2 channel phantom powered mixer that outputs into the amp's 1/4 inch input. I've not experienced feedback issues with either of these configurations. The AKG 411-L model requires an expensive XLR adapter cable to use it with a phantom powered mixer. It does however offer a battery pack option which works better for a wireless setup. Some folks are leery of using the adhesive to connect the 411 element to the instrument, yet I've found it to be harmless and very good at retaining a solid grip after many uses. My only caution is to be careful not to remove the element by prying one end up, in that the ridge can inflict a small dent in the wood. If it's pulled off evenly, no issues.

[Figure-8] Everything PierreGee said, terrific little pickup. I got the PP (phantom power) version too. Simple, simple. Just the pickup element, wire and plug. Takes 15 seconds to set up on a gig and take off after. I'm still using the same piece of putty after 40 gigs. Sound wise it is as close to the sound of a microphone as I have found yet, but with a much higher feedback threshold and less gear needed. I play gypsy jazz on a Selmer style acoustic steel string guitar.
