Q: 1. Is HDR supported along with all the other audio/video features of a UHD Blu-ray disc?

A: Yes the A-Neuvideo 4x2 comes with HDMI 2.0 compatibility and this works with HDR.

A: You are able to route audio signals from the HDMI inputs to the HDMI outputs on the Kramer 8x4 4K Matrix. However, it will not mix audio signals from several inputs to one output.

Q: 3. Will this retain settings after a power loss?

A: This unit can be turned off and on with no ill-effects to the settings.

Q: 4. Does this unit blank the screen during input switch or is it a smooth cut?

A: There will be a slight delay and a blanks screen when switching between the inputs on this Switcher and Scaler.

Q: 5. Does it come repopulated with some cards? or do you have to buy them individually in order for it to function?

A: It does not. This is an empty module which you would fill with cards according to your specific needs.

Q: 6. Cna you control this via Companion?

A: It is out understand that the AVMATRIX 8 x 8 3G-SDI Matrix Switcher can be remotely controlled via ip and software.

Q: 7. Does this support 3D Blu Ray?

A: Yes the IOGEAR 2 x 2 DCI 4K HDMI Matrix Switcher supports 3D Blu-ray

Q: 8. Does the Kramer Kramer VS-62H support HDCP 2.2? This info in not in the datasheet nor manual.

A: We are afraid not. This only supports HDCP 1.4.

Q: 9. Can you turn off HDCP for the HDMI inputs?

A: Yes, the manual shows that you can turn HDCP Off and On for the input.

Q: 10. I see a reference to a web interface, is there an API?

A: The Kramer VS-42UHD 4x2 4K UHD HDMI Matrix Switcher (B&H# KRVS42UHD) does offer a web interface for common needs such as routing choices, firmware upgrades, and EDID loading. Beyond that you would be using the serial and LAN (which the manufacturer calls Ethernet) ports for communication and programming using the Protocol 3000 instruction set. I'm using the video switcher to capture lectures and classroom sessions when we have 2-4 cameras in use. The switcher is quick, small, and easy to operate. The only downside is that break-before-make (BBM) switching can cause a blink between channel transitions, but it is very short and we can accept this given the price of the product and audience for our videos. 5

I received this as a wonderful Christmas gift from my mother, the Kramer VP-770. I am using it to digitize a number of VHS/Beta/Hi-8/and DVD performances from my Alma Mater, as well as from other clients. It has performed superbly. The ability to Time Base Code the squiggly analog tapes and output a clean 720P or 1080P signal, plus being able to align the audio signal, has been a blessing. In the world of digital there are a number of analog items that may be lost. I am grateful that Kramer makes a truly spectacular TBC Switcher/Upscaler to complete the restoration. 5

Our use case is driving two large 4k TVs in a conference room. We have a wireless streaming device, a Blackmagic SDI-HDMI converter, and two wall-plate HDMI inputs coming into the switcher. Sources are a mixture of HD, and 4k signals. A previous matrix switcher was unable to consistently negotiate the EDIDs and we were dealing with constant connection issues. So far, this A-Neuvideo switcher is functioning flawlessly. Things I love: * Solid construction and simple/clear controls * Not only an IR receiver extension, but two IR transmitters included so you can pass power on/off (for example) signals to your display devices * Included mounting brackets (metal, not plastic) and hardware * Web interface that just works and makes configuration and troubleshooting much easier * Included remote isn't premium, but a much better build than previous switcher * ~1-second signal switching time across all four inputs * Price was excellent given the feature set * Standoff screw posts for each HDMI input/output for HDMI cables with a screw lock to prevent them from wiggling loose Things I wish were different: * Phoenix connectors on the back make sense for serial connections, but seem unnecessary for analog audio - RCA or stereo connectors would have been preferred, in my opinion * Blue indicator LEDs are a little too bright and cast significant ambient light Bottom line: We haven't had this switcher long enough to comment on longevity, but if it continues to perform at this level we will be very happy. 5

We had much trouble converting our video source and getting the frame rate we needed. The less expensive converters would just not do the trick. Out of the box this worked perfectly and immediately solved our problem. It is a simple device and cicuitboard, but the software on the chip is worth the money if you need it! 5
