A: This printer hasn't been available yet nor is the ink. The ink tanks have 14.4 ml in each tank which is .4 of a mil more than the ink of its predecessor the Canon Pro 10 14 ml tanks. It all depends on the colors & density of each print, for example: you might use 2 magentas b4 you finish 1 cyan & some prints have lighter backgrounds. Even Canon can't give you an approximate answer & only experience will tell. The print quality of these printers are 'out of this world' so even if prints are a bit pricey it pays off by far.

A: If properly sealed, the ink should easily last for more than a year when stored appropriately. As for opened ink, the cartridges should be installed, and the Canon large format printer should be left on. That way the Canon large format printer will perform an electronic nozzle check periodically to maintain the cartridge. It uses only a small amount of ink to do that, and that process does keep the ink fresh and usable indefinitely.
