Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. will it be able to support the Insta360 ONE RS 1-Inch 360 Edition Camera for drone like shots?

A: You can use the E-Image 5-Section Telescoping Carbon Fiber Microphone Boompole (11.5') with the Insta360 ONE RS 1-Inch 360 Edition Camera, however this will not support the camera's invisible selfie stick feature like the Insta360 Extended Selfie Stick for X3, ONE RS/X2/R/X, and ONE (14 to 118"), B&H # INDINEESSB.

Q: 2. One answer says you can run a cable through the pole. The other says you can’t? Which is correct, and if you can’t what’s the point of the cable raceway?

A: I understand the confusion regarding the raceway. But I don't see any exit for the cable at the top for a cable. Nor is there a opening for an XLR connector at the base.

Q: 3. is this sturdy enough to put a d810 and 14-24 lens on. I'm using this for elevated shots?

A: Yes - I typically use this for booming a shotgun mic, but I have put an Arri 300 on it, which is about 4lb / 1.8kg (on a c-stand) telescoped out to the first extension without any problem

Q: 4. max payload for 8'?

A: The E-Image BA09 does not have a spec for maximum weight capacity, but it has enough tensile strength to support most shotgun microphones and wind protection systems.

Q: 5. What is the outside diameter of the lower large pole section (not the base cap) ?

A: The thickest section of the Cavision SGP330F-25 3-Section Boompole has a diameter of 0.98" (25mm).

Q: 6. All my XLR cables are too thick to thread through the head of this pole. Which XLR cable is thin enough to fit?

A: You will need a 26 AWG mic cable.

Q: 7. What is the smallest collapsable size in inches of this boom pole?

A: 29 inches

Q: 8. Can this be broken down so it's not four feet long in a travel bag?

A: No, the E-Image BC16P Carbon Fiber Telescoping Boompole with Internal Cable & XLR Base (16.4') cannot be disassembled for a smaller physical footprint when transporting.

Q: 9. Does this work with the shoe mount included with the Azden SGM-250?

A: The shock mount on the Azden is open so its possible it could fall from the boom pole. I would prefer a more secure shock mount. Like the B&H # AUDUSM1.

Q: 10. Do you have the version with the lateral output?

A: The BC-12P does have an integrated XLR cable that exists laterally (from the side).

[30" / 76.2 cm] I’m fairly new to recording audio to go along with video and I was searching for something with quality construction that wouldn’t break the bank. I’m very impressed to far with the build and design. I expect to Be able to use this for a number of years without any issues. Thanks B&H for the selection and usability to locate this product and easy purchase.

[Aluminum] I own the The 8.5' 4-Section Telescoping Carbon Fiber Microphone Boompole. I really like the comfy foam to keep your hands warm and protect against sweating to make it easier to grab and handle. It works really well. I also like the easy way to screw in and out to extend and shorten the pole. I also like how if you need to change the end for a different type of screw adaptor. I also like the protective bag for the pole. It is nicely made with some pockets. I would recommend this boom pole. It's nicely made.

[Aluminum] This is a nice boom pole not to cheap or high quality its like in between.it does feel like it will last a long time.dosent feel to heavy with a mic and shockmount attached.only thing negative is the space to allow the mic cord to run down from the top is quite slim so my current microphone cord would not fit.you need a slim skinny cord to be able to hide the wire.other than that its a great boom.

[4] We looked at a lot of boom poles for our on-the-go shoots. This one won because if the good reviews and decent price. It didn't disappoint.

Just last week we had a full day of shooting (10 hours) across 6 locations. Being able to quickly set up and pack up was essential, and this boom arm is very easy. We used cable ties to keep the external audio cable from rattling. The audio we got was excellent quality, with no pinging, jangling, or extra sounds due to motion, though we were filming outdoors most of the time with lots of background noise, so your mileage may vary.

This pole *DOES NOT* include an extension cable for audio, but you can internally mount one if you wish. I didn't do so because, for us, this wasn't necessary. We use a few different types of mics for different situations. Some use XLR, some use standard audio jacks, not being tied into one architecture or the other is great when you're on a tight budget and you have somewhat of an equipment hodgepodge.
