[5 lb / 2.3 kg] Don't let the price intimidate you. This thing is very well built with quality materials. The best part is that it doesn't need to be staked down. It has a very nice weight to it and stay wherever you drop it. If the wind blows this thing around then it's too windy to be flying your drone.

The cheaper ~$20 launchpad I bought from a popular online retailer was immediately packaged up and returned within minutes of receiving this hoodman one in the mail. Night and day difference in quality.

As far as folding them up.... It's a challenge to learn. There is a good YouTube video for it. Once you've done it a few times it easy. The hoodman folds up the same as the cheaper ones. However, the hoodman is easier. It doesn't seem to fight you as much during the folding process.

[5 lb / 2.3 kg] I use this with a Phantom 4 and Inspire 2 -- I'm not sure it provides any added safety such as alerting pedestrians or visibility to helicopters and airplanes that a drone is nearby, but it does protect the drone/gimbal/camera from gravel and debris.

[4.605 lb] I took the Mavic 3 Pro to Iceland and found it to be perfect for the conditions. The launch pad included in the DJI Fly More package was a waste of money. It is flimsy and it is too small. The Hoodman is weighted around the periphery and is 24 in width which is perfect. No need for pounding stakes into the ground. It stayed tight on the ground in the windy weather and protected the drone from the fine Icelandic sand that would have ruined the motors and gimbal. There are good online tutorials about how to fold the pad up for storage. Highly recommend!

[3' / 0.9 m] The build quality of this pad and its carrying bag are impressive, and the weight really helps keep it planted. As others have said it's awkward to fold back up at first, but if you can fly a drone you can get the hang of it, I promise!

It's a little small for my Mavic 2 Pro, but totally doable. I mainly use it for my Mavic Air, and it fits along with the drone and all batteries/accessories in one small messenger bag.

[5 lb / 2.3 kg] I have seen that some people have trouble putting away the pad. Well I found that when you uppack the pad, go slow and pay attention to how it unfolds and do that process in reverse. I know that when you get in a rush of excitement to fly your Drone, sometimes you don't observe thing's as you do when you take your time. I found that instead of trying to fold your pad, twist it on each side where your hands are, one goes clockwise the other counterclockwise, also pull your hands out, then in mid twist push in. If you do it correctly the pad will easily go in the case. So you have the fully opened pad, ○ pull each hand at the same time -- -- then quickly twist, when you have a ○○ roll it together.
