Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I fly a gimbal on it? Like a Ronin?

A: This product has a 17 pound load capacity, which gives it enough room to handle a smaller gimbal set up. The Ronin-S has the needed threads under it to attach to this platform and only weighs 4 pounds. While this is not a specifically tested set up, it should work. https://bhpho.to/2lIdzZu

Q: 2. How easy is it to replace the rope that the Genie came with? Or is this added to the current length?

A: The rope is simple to replace; see here in the install PDF: https://bit.ly/2L52E7t As to adding to the length, that is not possible. If you need a longer run you use longer rope. Please see: https://bhpho.to/30kOgff

Q: 3. How does this attach to walls? Or is there some portable poles that would work for the ratchet mechanism? Is there a tutorial for this? Only saw tutorials with mounting to trees...

A: There is no way to attach the Slingshot to walls. You could attempt some sort of DIY with portable poles however the rope needs to have a fair bit of tension. Therefore, they would have to be extremely strong and stable. Please contact support@syrp.co.nz if you have any further questions.

Q: 4. Hello, I am very close to buy your Slinshot and Genie II, but I want to be 100% sure that the slingshot is not limited to time laps. I really want to be able to shot some very conventional tracking shot filming normally (without time laps). So, can the Slngshot and Genie II do that? I mean, without stoping, just continuously advancing (slowly)? Thanks in advance for your answer

A: Yes, this system can do tracking video shots. It is not limited to just time lapses.

Q: 5. Can the slingshot work with Edelkrone Motion PLUS?

A: Hey Jordan - sorry, no, the Slingshot is an accessory specifically for the Syrp Genie. Thanks!

Q: 6. how fast is the motion?

A: The Genie can move at a maximum speed of 3.84 cm (1.51 inches)/ 1 second and can cover a distance of 100cm (or 3.3ft) in around 25 seconds.

Q: 7. What is the steepest angle at which the slingshot can be operated?

A: Our understanding it the run is to be as level as possible.

Q: 8. What is the length?

A: It is approximately 32-36"

Q: 9. How fast can it go?

A: The Genie can move at a maximum speed of 3.84 cm (1.51 inches)/ 1 second. That means it can cover a distance of 100cm (or 3.3ft) in around 25 seconds.

Q: 10. Can I mount this in a Church and have it use wall power and not a battery and can it be put on an actual dolly track?

A: The Syrp Slingshot 3-Axis Cable Cam is not designed to support wall power. You may be able to rig a larger battery to power it. But this would be custom design and not a solution that we have seen before with the Slingshot.

[164' / 50 m] This strap has a very solid construction. I was pleasantly surprised as there are so many brands of straps I've never heard of, and it seemed like the type of product where you have no idea what you're going to get. But no, this thing is serious. The loop is like the same material as a climbing rope. I am using it on a Nikon Z6ii, and often let the camera hang from my wrist while I quickly use my hand for something else.

The strap is long enough that I can use it as a safety strap while mounted to a tripod head. I'll hook the loop around one of the knobs of the head, in case by some chance I didn't lock the shoe into the head correctly. I know that's extremely unlikely to happen, but I feel good about the added security.

I'd definitely buy one of these again. In fact, it is replacing an old similar strap by Crumpler that is no longer in production so I might buy another one of these just in case.

[2] an affordable long distance time-lapse solution, just add a genie for motion control. best when used with a fast-ish shutter speed as being on a cable there can be slight movement, especially when outdoors.

[4.25 lb] I have a Z6II, 105 macro, 24-200 and 50 f1.8. I also have a tripod and a few other bits and bobs that we all have for taking pictures. I can fit my camera with any of the lenses along with one other lens in the camera section. The third lens I place in the upper large pocket and it will have room for my other accessories l. The bag has some unique and very thoughtfully excited features that works for me. It’s quite comfortable and compact which is what I was going for. I had the Mindshift 13 which I traded in for this bag as the Mindhsift was simply to clunky and big for my needs.

[164' / 50 m] This is a whole lot of track for your cable cam. Super strong, super stiff and the convenient roll makes setup and clean up a breeze.

[164' / 50 m] I really like this double rope strap. For me it's nice, comfortable and smooth feeling. I like it much better than the traditional flat straps. It is an expensive item. I wasn't sure if I would like it but now that I have it I'm very happy I bought it. Plus it's very good quality.
