Q: 1. Will this microphone work with this Shure auto-mixer?https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/188356-REG/Shure_SCM410_SCM410_4_Cha

A: Yes, the Audix M70W Flush-Mount Ceiling Microphone can be connected to the Shure SCM410 4 Channel Automatic Mixer, however, you will need to use a separate phantom power supply to power the microphone since the M70W requires a minimum of 18V and the SCM410 will supply only 12V. As an option for a single mic, you can use the Mackie M48 Single-Channel 48V Phantom Power Supply (B&H # MAM48).

Q: 2. We have had two M1250B's for four years. Purchased to record the choir. Recently, the Music Director wants to amplify the choir a bit during Praise and Worship songs. However, the M1250Bs pick up a bunch of drums which sit 12 feet from the left mic and the drums are actually more predominate than the choir. Request advice? gev at Kirkmont Church

A: Move the drum kit if possible. If these mics are not ceiling mounted - you might try a few of these panels: ClearSonic S5-2 - 66 x 48 x 1.5 Double Section SORBER Baffle (Light Grey) with Handle. a href= http://bhpho.to/1AeFdcw target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1AeFdcw/a

Q: 3. Where is the link to only the omni-directional capsule? I can't seem to find it

A: The Audix SCX Omni capsule is not currently available as a separate item.

Q: 4. Will this work with any mic with a mini-XLR connector, or only with Audix? Thanks.

A: Yes, the Audix MicroBoom 84 Carbon Fiber 84" Boom can be use with any microphone that has a mini-XLR connector. The MicroBoom 84 has a mini-XLR female connector on the top to attach the mic and terminates with a mini-XLR male connector at the bottom. The MicroBoom attaches to any microphone stand and can be used horizontally or vertically.

Q: 5. Would this mic work ok for streaming? I'd like to not have the mic on screen and be able to move my head a little. Also would it pick up a lot of the speaker audio? I don't want to use headphones if I can get away with it.

A: I can't imagine a problem with streaming. As for picking up your monitor audio, that's a bit tricky to answer without seeing your recording space. I'm guessing that some noise reduction to reduce your monitor audio bouncing back and having the monitors behind the mic should result in a clean sound without picking up the monitors... but this would be true for any mic that's not omnidirectional. We use this mic at about 3 feet from two people talking and it's awesome... we don't use the monitor. If money's not a limiting factor, this mic also has different heads that support different patterns..

Q: 6. What is the pickup range/distance of this microphone? Trying to figure out how many we need for full room coverage.

A: The range of the Audix M70W Flush-Mount Ceiling Microphone will depend on several factors, such as room acoustics, ambient volume level, and occupancy. In terms of coverage, it has a 45-degree pickup angle.

Q: 7. To keep out of my shot, how far away can this be placed from the subject? For a one person indoor interview.

A: The Audix SCX1-HC can be placed at around 5 feet away from the person talking, at the very most.

Q: 8. How does this mic compare to the Shure SM58?

A: The audio specs for the frequency response range and sensitivity of f50S and SM58 are fairly close. Both mics can handle very loud sounds but the SM58 will retain more clarity at the very highest sound pressure levels. In terms of construction, both mics are made of metal and are very durable. Both mics include a pouch and mic clip. There is a difference in the length of the manufacturer's warranty. The f50S has a 3-year warranty and the SM58 has a 2-year warranty. The f50S has an on/off switch and there is a SM58S model (B&H # SHSM58S) that includes an on/off switch. There is also a difference in price between the Audix and Shure mics which may also be a consideration. Please feel free to contact us by phone or through live chat on the website if you have additional questions or if you would like further assistance.

Q: 9. Does it work in the ATR 3350 Audio technica?

A: I'm afraid not. That clip is designed to hold the mic itself the ADX10 is 10 mm in diameter. The ATR 3350 is 8 mm in diameter. Not a good fit. Try a B&H link toa href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/885752-REG/auray_tc_olm10_tie_clips_for_olm_10.html/pageID/accessory target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/885752-REG/auray_tc_olm10_tie_clips_for_olm_10.html/pageID/accessory/aThis clip will hold the cable as opposed to the entire mic. Should fit fine.

Q: 10. To synch sound to footage shot on a Canon DSLR would this mic work via a zoom recorder?

A: The Audix SCX1/HC Studio Condenser Microphone Kit is a good option for recording audio separately into a Zoom recorder. Sync will likely have to be done manually in editing as most DSLR cameras and some Zoom models do not offer timecode onboard. It is possible to record timecode as an audio track on each device, which can be decoded by certain editing softwares for sync, if you use a device such as the Tentacle Sync E mkII Timecode Generator with Bluetooth 5.0 to feed both the camera and recorder the same timecode: https://bhpho.to/3Lj6m8W

[Hypercardioid] Mobile DJ since 2001. Previous owner of Shure and Sennheiser systems.

Have used Audix R61 receivers weekly (mostly at weddings) since early 2017, they are rock solid units! TRUE DIVERSITY (dual tuners) indeed! Have not had a SINGLE signal drop out indoors or outdoors, (64MHz frequency band is awesome) even in the super busy RF environment of Southern California. We typically use 2-3 units at the same time. The range is outstanding also, we are often about 100 ft away (advertises a huge 450 ft range, haven't had to do that..) and with up to 200 guests between receiver and bodypacks, still no issues.

Very easy setup, and has great features like locking the transmitter so no accidental 'mutes' occur. R61 has a massive amount of tunable frequencies if you need them. The construction is metal and quite solid. Shure and Sennheiser rule the mobile DJ world of wireless, but after speaking with Audix at NAMM 2017, I went with their system and have not looked back. I have since had two other colleagues see/hear the system, and although they were lifetime Shure users, bought an Audix 60 series system. The few reviews you will find rave about them as well. I think it is the current sleeper system that doesn't get a lot of attention, but performs extremely well. Highly recommend.

The only downside is the R61 receivers, and the 60 series in general, are of course more expensive than the '40' series, and not typically in stock...anywhere. It takes a few extra days to get to you but it is worth the wait to ensure perfect events, especially wedding ceremonies, with rock solid signal thanks to the true diversity dual tuners.

[50 Hz to 16 kHz] I was tired of listening to myself singing with the Audio Technica AtT2010 for 2 years, proximity effect was awful on that mic. With the Audix vx5 everything is better, no more proximity effect!!! Voice is warm, clarity is high, I love it. Thanks to B&H also, I got the price match and received the microphone in 3 days, I live in California, what a great company to deal with.

[1.095 lb] We had busted all our antennas and we were losing reception from our body packs. These are a direct drop in replacement for the B60 transmitters. This was the perfect fix.

[64 MHz] The D-6 is such a good Mic for the Kick drum and is very easy to make sound good with very little Eqing. Hard to beat for the money

[290 Ohms] I have used the D6 on 3 shows with many more to come. It does just what it was designed to do. 6 to 8 inches away from the beater head in line with the beaters. It has made a great difference in our sound and has surprised a few sound guys who are fans of other mikes. I have no complaints. It is easy to use as you have very little adjustments on the mixing board

[Hypercardioid] Great Vocal mic, studio sound in live situation. Rarely have to do much EQing with this mic, very transparent.

[50 Hz to 16 kHz] We have a large ballroom space in which the sound system was badly installed years ago. Not much headroom and the speakers are in the ceiling. None of my techs could decent sound off of a podium because they were using SM57s as podium mics. I ordered these and speeches sound much better. The system still needs work, but these are a vast improvement.
