A: I suppose you can pin decorations like that to the backdrop, but I imagine making holes wouldn't be best for long term life of the product. Double face tape might work against the fabric. Of course the more you mess with it the messier it will get and you'll have to continue to wash it.

A: The fabric is a fairly open weave with the fleece projecting through. The more you stretch the fabric, the more the weave opens up. It will block most light, but there will be bleed-through, which you want in a backdrop so you can backlight it or gel it. For a window I would consider doubling it (if you get the long version) or teaming it with a so-called room darkening curtain, some of which can be had reasonably at places like WM.
