The black, small-sized Bubblebee Windkiller Fur Slip-On for 18-24mm Mics, Blackfrom Bubblebee Windkiller Fur Slip-On for 18-24mm Mics, Blackis a wind protector that fits shotgun microphones. It can be used in outdoor environments to reduce wind noise when capturing audio for video, broadcast TV, ENG applications, and more.

The bottom of the Windkiller is constructed of a specially designed rubber mount that grips the microphone while still making it easy to slide it on and off. The top is a highly durable faux fur that blocks out wind noise. It is compatible with Sony and JVC camera microphones.

[0.32 lb] I started doing a number of exterior interviews and was relying solely on lavs placed inside shirts. That was successful. But I was hanging a shotgun mike as well and had wind noise with even the slightest breeze. Bought the Bubblebee unit and looked at a weather app to see which day that week was the windiest. Went to my local park on that day where breezes come up the hill briskly from the Hudson River. In 20 mph wind there was absolutely no problem. Clean sound. 5

[1] Using this with the 416 and it simply rocks. Boom pole noise is almost totally resolved when moving. The short fur is good enough for most situations. 5

[1] I didn't need a big blimp but did need some protection for light outdoor production and indoor use. I didn't notice any handling noise (but it was a static shoot) and it just looks cool! Make sure you buy the right size for your intended microphone. 5

[6.9 x 4 x 3.8"] Still have yet to use it for outdoors, but I needed something to help with very persistent 'splosives when trying to record voice indoors at a medium-close range. This windscreen has basically removed that issue! I'm not sure, but it might cut the brightness of the recording by a little bit, but it's not really noticeable in my opinion, and easily mitigated with some tweaking on the hi-end EQ. 5

[0.32 lb] Found out on a Thursday that my Saturday shoot to wrap up a short film was going to be super windy. So I paid the extra $15ish for overnight shipping and got it before noon the next day. Worked great for the conditions we were in. DaVinci's vocal isolation helped get rid of the sound we picked up of the trees, crops, etc. but thanks to this baby we were able to pick up all the dialog we needed to get without any issues. 5

[0.32 lb] The Bubblebee Windshield w/ short fur worked fabulously with my Cmit 5u. I took it on job in the woods & it canceled the breeze completely. It did not muffle whispering dialog at all (actually seemed to enhance it). I thought the price was more than reasonable compared to competitors price. Strongly recommend! 5

[0.32 lb] This mount really keeps hand noise from the pole from being picked-up. I really like the locking clamp, very strong. The off-set XLR jumper cable is a nice addition. I havent used the fur screen yet, but should work fine indoors, not sure how well it would work in wind conditions. Pictured with Schoeps MK41. 5
