Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I add two headsets to my set?

A: Yes you can have one more headset without any additional hardware needed. If you need more then 5 headsets add the hub in the link bellow and that will allow you to use up to 8 headsets at once. If in the future you need more then 8 simply add another hub by connecting the two it will give you room to add 8 more headsets. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1269407-REG/eartec_hub_mini_duplex_transceiver_base.html

Q: 2. Does this wireless intercom work in Brazil? What is the better option for me in this case, the USA set or Europe.

A: This system works in the 1920 to 1930 MHz range so if there are restrictions on using frequencies in that range in Brazil then these headsets will not be useable there.

Q: 3. How many headsets i can use with one Hub ?

A: We bought a system that came with 5 headsets and the hub and I bought a separate headset and added it! Great Systems!

Q: 4. I bought this but was only able to get 5 to link. The other 2 did not want to join the same channel (1) no matter how many times I reset the system. 2 of the headsets are labeled with a 2 inside. Is that the problem? Should all 7 be able to link on the same channel? What am I doing wrong?

A: It may best to have you contact Eartec directly for technical assistance. You can reach Eartec tech support by phone at 800-399-5994 or 401-782-4966. Their offices are based in Rhode Island.

Q: 5. is it use sound activate switch for switching between talk and received ?

A: Full duplex, no manual switching.

Q: 6. How is the difference between headset battery & Hub battery?I can not found battery accessory.

A: Both the UltraLITE headsets and HUB utilize the same battery. Unfortunately we do not currently offer the replacement battery separately.

Q: 7. 1) I fouund that Eartec UL5S set have total 5 headset. Can I add one more remote headset to this UL4S to become UL5S? 2) I found that this UL4S is black color but UL5S is grey color. Is that true? I am look for black color style which product link is black color to form UL5S (5 headset)? 3) Which frequency is suitable to Hong Kong? 4) Which location power supply covered AC 220V?

A: We do not offer these radio/intercoms for use in Hong Kong.

Q: 8. Are these water resistant?

A: The Eartec UltraLITE headsets are not water resistant

Q: 9. in the future if I buy more a remote handset I can expand to total 6 people talking?

A: You might want to get their 800# from www(dot)eartec(dot)com and call them. I have worked with them a couple of times and the customer service is very good. We have the same base station and it supports 6 wireless and 1 wired headset. To go above that, I believe you need a second base.We use the headsets at church and they are very reliable. Only issue is that you need to turn the base on first and then put the batteries in the headsets. Otherwise, we had some garbling. Base can run everyone in conference or 2 channels, which is convenient. It's made a major difference for me since I am the Service Producer and need to talk to lights, video and the camera people throughout the service.

Q: 10. Can the frequency be switched, when used in a heavy wireless environment? I often work where the wireless freqs need to be coordinated so everyone isn't stepping on each other.

A: No you can not change the frequency this system. It has a fix frequency 1728 GHz you should not get any interference using this system.

[5] We started using the Eartec last week and found them to be very nice. We put our wired headsets away after 30 years of use. they still work and have a bit of static. The headsets are a little tight to wear, but I feel after a little usage they will be Ok. We are currently only using the first 3 headsets on Channel one and have not needed to use Channel 2 until we have a large performance in Church. One cameraman said he heard it beep a couple of times but had no other issues. Not sure if the battery was weakening or if it lost communication, will check it our next week. So far so good.

[5 Hours] Much much better than walkie talkies....I used it this weekend for a RC race to communicate with my pitman.....with all those high pitched nitro engines, it sounded as if he was right next to me.

[4.675 lb] These are great!

Flip down to talk.  Flip up to mute your mic.

There is one hub belt  that you hook up to 1 wired headset.  The other headsets are headset only, so you can listen and talk no belt pack needed.

Comes with a bag and 8 battery charger.

[4.675 lb] These worked great, but there is one minor issue with the remote head sets. The master head set has a slider switch to turn it on or off. The remote head sets have a rubber push button that you have to hold down for say 3-5 seconds to shut the head set off. When you insert a battery in to the remote head sets they turn on. You have to make sure to turn the remote head set off when you insert the battery. It's very easy to put a fresh battery in a remote head set, not turn it off and then forget about it and have it drain the battery.

[4.675 lb] I read multiple reviews of the Eartec UltraLITE Headsets prior to purchasing.

My first impression after unboxing was that these feel more like a toy than a production environment tool. The $22 battery replacement cost also is a bit of a red flag. It's a proprietary battery so third party batteries aren't an option.

In the past I've had to rely on hand signals or my production team members actually paying attention to move from live interviews to prerecorded scenes during livestreams. Not anymore.

These simply work, despite their amateur appearance. Since they operate on the 1.9 GHz spectrum, I've never experienced dropouts or interference when in use.

You can't toss them around like regular headphones. They not as well built as headphones. Keep them in the protective case when not in use and remove the batteries as recommended when not in use.

I'm sure other companies make a better built headset, but at a much higher cost.

If you treat them with care and follow the recommendations, these should provide you with several years of worry-free operation.

[5 Hours] I wasn’t expecting from a system at this price. I usually use a ClearComm system costing $12K. I even asked B&H if the product could be returned if not satisfied. I had 30-days. I received the 5-set Comm System 3-days prior to a 4 Cam shoot in a theater setting. I recorded for 3-days in a very loud environment with all actors and orchestra on wireless com’s. The Eartec. System worked flawlessly. Communication was crystal clear with plenty of volume. Battery life easily covered a Three hour show and set up. Headsets are comfortable. Build is very plastic like so not sure about durability. But I am definitely keeping this set. A great buy so far and at a fraction of the cost of a Telex/Clearcom system. I purchased the single ear configuration. During louder parts of the musical room noise made it difficult to hear. However, an earplug in the left ear solved that issue immediately. I would recommend this product to any production team.

[4] I replaced some older EarTec's with wired headsets - no wires is much nicer. They eliminate static, but require a minimum level of speech volume to pick up - so you can't whisper too quietly if the event requires it. Otherwise very nice and lightweight, comfortable to wear.
