Nitecore LA10 CRI LED Flashlight Compact Lightis the ideal storm/emergency preparedness or camping companion. Running on a single easy-to-find AA battery, it has three primary outputs from a low of 9 lumens to a high of 85, plus an emergency location beacon that flashes at regular intervals to show its location while conserving battery power. This simple-to-use tool has a retractable diffuser to throw smooth and soft light in a full 360° circle to illuminate tables, tents, or small rooms. This iteration of the LA10 utilizes a Nichia 219B LED that produces light with a CRI of 90. This translates to a beam color that closely resembles natural daylight.

Built for convenience and portability, the LA10 is just over 3" long and weighs only 1.5 ounces without the battery so it can fit in a draw, pack or pocket easily. Its housing is made of a lightweight and durable aluminum alloy, with a scratch and corrosion-resistant anodized finish. A built-in magnet in the tailcap allows it to be easily attached to many metallic surfaces and the flat cap design enables it to stand on flat surfaces and act like a flameless candle.

Q: 3. Is the power flashing indication continuous or can it be turned off?

A: The Nitecore MH10 V2 Rechargeable LED Flashlight indicator light flashes slowly while the battery is charging and stops flashing and is steady when charging is complete. The indicator light will flash quickly when the charging process is "abnormal" (the battery is broken or inserted incorrectly).

A: You can purchase them from B&H. I use the the CR123 batteries with this light. It takes two. I get my batteries from Battery Junction. They are as cheap as $1.00/each but there are many places that sell these.

Q: 6. The overview says “ built-in 21700” battery. Does that mean it can’t be replaced with a standard protected 21700 battery when needed?

A: Unfortunately, the battery is not user replaceable.

[1x AA] I was surprised how well this works in conjunction with an Infrared night vision camera. The IR light mode really an impressive throw distance. Perfect for law enforcement and military use. Great buy 5

[Aluminum] I was very pleased with this light. I have a number of flash lights with around 10,000 lumen. This is one of the best with it's shape and design, it a keeper. 5

[1x LED] I purchased the MH41 to use as a safety device while I run. Since I run at a very early (before sunrise) time in the morning and on a road shoulder, I need reflective clothing and a good illumination and signaling device to let drivers know where I am. This light functions very well for that purpose, but it is heavy. The turbo mode is extremely bright and overall the flashlight illuminates a long way off and has an efficient spread of white light from central to edge. I don't do Search and Rescue, but I would expect that it would be useful for that purpose, since it has a signaling mode, beacon mode and the necessary brightness to light a good area of territory. The flashlight comes with two rechargeable (in the light) 18650 Nitecore Li-Ion batteries, charger, lanyard, spare tail cap, etc., so it is a good value for the price. It is also waterproof, so you can use it in the rain. I can comment on the use of this flashlight for Law Enforcement also. While it would be useful as a general-purpose flashlight, as well as a self-defense, non-lethal weapon, it is too large and heavy to carry on a duty belt. It would probably best be left on the right front seat of a cruiser during rounds. For searching indoor and outdoor areas, it is very effective, due to its versatility and throw, so it's more of a general-purpose light. The light is so bright, however, that it will probably blind anyone who looks directly into it while on turbo mode, so each agency will have to determine policy if it's to be used for non-lethal defense. The only problem I have with the light, other than its weight, is that warranty service is done in China and the light has to be sent to B&H for them to forward it to the manufacturer for warranty service. That takes lots of time, so I figure that two to three months to get the light back is realistic. 5

[1x LED] It's a little early to be sure, since I have not taken this out in the field yet. But, initial testing shows it to be a very bright and well focused beam. Changing brightness levels is easy and intuitive with the side button. It is very light and compact for the level of brightness. 5
