The lens comes in a Fujifilm X-mount and features industry standard geared focus and iris rings. Ultra Multi-Coatings on the lens provide sharp contrast and consistent colors from lens-to-lens. Aspheric and extra low dispersion glass elements are used to minimize chromatic aberrations. The lens is marked in both feet and meters and features a de-clicked iris for smooth aperture pulls.

This 21mm lens produces 69.3° AOV when used with APS-C cameras. Internal focus design and a non-rotating front enables using it with a wide variety of cine-style accessories. The lens features low chromatic aberration and has a minimum focus distance of just under 12" from the lens. Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Which filter size does this lens have?

A: 77mm

Q: 2. What exactly is the difference between these Cine DS lenses compared to their equivalent non-DS lenses? I get that the DS lenses have some new markings to make it easier to look at focus and adjust exposure. But what is the difference in the DS lens that makes it cost about $200 more? Also, what different markings are there on the lens that make it obvious this is a Cine DS lens compared to the previous models? If you were looking at the two side by side, how could you tell the difference?

A: ) All of the gears are unified among all Rokinon Cine DS lenses. The focus and aperture gears are exactly aligned so that the user does not have to re-adjust his/her follow focus when swapping out lenses. 2) The new Cine DS lenses now feature dual focusing scales, one on each side. 3) All of the Cine DS lenses are tested to be color matched to provide the same color & contrast in video production.

Q: 3. will this work with the Canon eos r as long as I buy the EF adapter?

A: Yes, you should be able to use this lens on the EOS R if you have Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R. B&H # CAMAEFRF - https://bhpho.to/2MENgLL

Q: 4. will this lens work perfect with sony a7s2?

A: Yes it does!!!

Q: 5. How is the depth of field of this lens? Is it a deep focus lens when stopped down to say 8 or 11 or 16?

A: The depth of field will vastly increase when stopping down the IRIX 21mm T1.5 Cine Lens (Canon EF, Feet) past T8 while retaining sharpness.

Q: 6. If I were to get this for my C100 (super 35mm Sensor), would the lens then translate to 35-40mm?

A: The C100 has a Super35 sensor and the Rokinon 24mm will convert to roughly a 36mm.

Q: 7. How much does it weigh

A: The shipping weight is 1.75 lb. So say about 1 lb/ 0.45 kg.

Q: 8. what is the equivalent for apsc sensor?

A: The closest choice to the SLR Magic MicroPrime Cine 21mm T1.6 Lens with a similar view of 18mm on APS-C cameras would be the following lens model from SLR Magic. SLR Magic MicroPrime Cine 12mm T2.8 Lens (E-Mount) BH #SLRMP12E

Q: 9. what is the highest aperture on this lens? The specs on all of these SLR lenses seem to be a bit lacking in detail. Do all the microprimes have the same minimum t-stop? Thanks for any input!

A: The SLR Magic MicroPrime Cine 21mm T1.6 Lens opens at a T1.6. No, all of the SLR MicroPrime Lenses have different apertures and will be labeled in the title.

Q: 10. I have a Rokinon 85mm for my Nikon D3200, but I'm looking for a better lens to get closer shots. Would the 32mm work well for this, or will the crop sensor make it so that I lose too much mm? Can't decide on how low of a mm lens I need because of this issue.

A: If you are looking to get a wider shot, the 35mm is a great choice. However there are even wider options, such as the Rokinon 16mm T2.6 Full Frame Cine DS Lens (Nikon F Mount) B&H # RODS16T26N. It just depends on how wide of a shot you need. https://bhpho.to/2HqFqrp

[FUJIFILM X] This was one of the first lenses I bought for my GH4 and it's been one of my most used. Renders beautiful colors and flares (if you're into that sort of thing), is wonderfully sharp even wide open, and has a very responsive and smooth focus ring. It's a beast in low light, which makes it especially useful for Micro Four Thirds shooters. A really nice normal prime focal length, especially when paired with the GH4, as this lens comes out to about a 48mm full frame equivalent with the 4K crop. So if you're coming from full frame system with classic 50mm f/1.8 setup, you'll feel right at home with this lens. The body is a metal frame with a tough plastic exterior. It feels well built and and sturdy, and it's stood up marvelously to about a year's worth of consistent use. The construction on all the Rokinon lenses I own has been solid, and I definitely find it better than the all-plastic builds of the budget Panasonic and Olympus lenses. The only real downside some may find with this lens is that it's fully manual. If you are predominantly a video shooter like me, this probably isn't a huge loss, but some photographers may find it unideal. In addition to being fully manual, the focus ring also does not hard stop at infinity, going a few degrees beyond it. So that's important to keep that in mind if you want to use this lens for landscape or astrophotography work. This issue is pretty common on lenses in this price range, and I still prefer a manual ring to wire focus when it comes to trying to nail focus on distant objects. Whether you're a photographer or videographer, this lens has a lot to offer, and for the price it's tough to beat.

[T22] In over 40 years of industrial and feature film making, the Irix primes are my favorite series of prime lenses, favored over the big name lenses that cost 4-5x. They are fast, sharp, have very natural-looking out-of-focus highlights, and the sealing is a bonus for those like us, who shoot a lot of exteriors. Hopefully Irix will soon offer something in the 65mm-85mm range so we can relegate our current short telephoto to the B camera lens set.

[T22] I purchased this lens for my sony FX9 and I shoot with the raw extension. I mostly use the 28/135 F4 sony cine zoom lens. I needed something a bit more wide with a fastest aperture. My dream came true. this lens is excellent, extremely sharp and delivered stunning results. I have tried also the sony 16/35 GM master f2.8.. . but sometimes a real cine lens is better when autofocus(es) has their limitations and when manual focus is required for creativity. highly recommended

[FUJIFILM X] bought this under a slew of positive reviews, i love the focal length in my sony e mount cameras apsC sensor. I have nothing but positives to say about this lens. Clarity, nearly perfect even for pixel peepers. Very nice bokeh at f1.4 easy lens to use more often than not. aperture and focus smooth. Its my second of 4 rokinon/samyang lenses and they are all first rate in quality both build and image. If you can live without AF and this is a focal length you like i cant think of a better choice.

[FUJIFILM X] I have owned this lens for about 6 months now. I absolutely love it for video on my xt3 as it produces images with a special cinematic quality. Smooth as butter focus and aperture rings, solid build quality. Very little to no distortion for a 21mm. Decent bokeh for a WA lens, and very fast for the price, also sharp in the centre wide open. I highly recommend it and am surprised more Fuji shooters don't seem to know about this hidden gem of a lens.

[1.1 lb] This lens is truly a gem. Superb craftsmanship, sharpness and color rendition., it's a wide angle lens with very little distortion. Pulling focus is a breeze with this lens. With added accessories it has turned my BGH1 into a full-fledged cinema rig.

[T22] This lens is sharp and has very nice/strong bokeh wide open. It is also compact and perfect on the a6000. Very solid construction and has a smooth focus ring with much better feel than the focus-by-wire sony lenses. Paired with the mirrorless manual focus aids like the zooming and peaking (you'll need to map a button to do the focus zoom because it won't be able to sense that you've started zooming) this lens is great for street photography. This is a lot of lens for the money.

[1.1 lb] Purchased this lenses at B&H for my Sony A6000. Keep in mind -this a fully MANUAL lense - No complaining please. Construction - Excellent, a little too well-built for the A6000. For it's size, it's heavy. Mount fits snugly, will notice minimal shifting when jerking the camera, but it's expected - weighs more than the camera. Lens cap good; Mount cap garbage. A true wide angle. Very easy to get the whole frame in focus and sweet subjects isolated when needed. Focus ring is great - for my liking. Aperture is clicked. Center starts sharpening best at F2.0 Corners Best from F4-F8. Better Contrast than the Sony 50mm 1.8, 55mm-210mm, Sigma 19MM, 30MM, 60MM, Can sometimes can be sharper than all of the above. If you really want a quality FULLY MANUAL wide angle lens, then buy it. Otherwise, Touit, Rokinon 12MM F2 (ULTRAWIDE). WARNING: A. Bad lense shadowing when using on-board flash on the SONY A6000. B. Will have to set a custom key to use Focus Magnification. (I used the center dial key - lost Eye AF) Will not automatically pull up this feature like other supported Sony lenses. C. Goodbye Quick Hybrid AF features.
