A: I used m3 x 10mm machine screws. At the time of purchase B&H didnt have them so I had to look elsewhere

A: This rack is not soundproofed in any way.

Q: 6. Are the fans always on, or are they on a thermostat where they kick on and off as needed?

A: The fans within the Video Mount Products 19" Equipment Rack Enclosure with Pre-Loaded Cooling Fans (18 RU) are not currently thermostat regulated, although I am told that this option may become available soon. The fans in this unit run while the rack is plugged in, regardless of temperature within the rack.

Q: 7. Are the fans controlled by a thermostat? (An answer from over a year ago stated that this option "may become available soon".)

A: No, the fans in the Video Mount Products 19" Equipment Rack Enclosure are not regulated by a thermostat.

Q: 8. Is this good for 2U server?

A: It has 27 spaces so I don't see why anything 2U would be a problem.

Q: 9. Does this plug into ac power?

A: Yes it plugs into ac power with the included power adapter

[19 in] Unlike the 2U intake these 40x40x20 fans are a lot quieter. In my rack, it's been better to have a few of these spread out & use the controller than having larger fans. 5

[Durable steel] I designed a passive patch-bay/break-out 'box' to help with the tangle of lines to my mixer and tracking recorder, hoping to do that with a rack blank. I was happy to see how well-made it is; I didn't have to overcome flexing of the blank when plugging or pulling lines. It's reinforced with a 'U' channel design. For such a simple and inexpensive item, I think I got more value in it, than I expected. I'll order from you again, and I recommend you, as well. 5
