Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can the insert be purchased separately?

A: Unfortunately, we do not offer the battery insert for this grip separately. You may obtain this part by contacting Canon at 1-800-652-2666.

Q: 2. can this grip hold the external battery cover when removed like the Vello unit?

A: Yes, there's a compartment for it in the grip.

Q: 3. Will it work with Canon 90D?

A: No. the Canon BG-E20 Battery Grip for EOS 5D Mark IV, B&H # CABGE20, is not designed for use with the Canon EOS 90D DSLR camera. It is only compatible for use with the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR Camera. If you are looking for a battery grip designed for use with the Canon EOS 90D DSLR camera, then the Canon BG-E14 Battery Grip for EOS 70D, 80D, and 90D, B&H # CABGE14, or the Vello BG-C10 Battery Grip for Canon 70D, 80D & 90D DSLR Camera, B&H # VEBGC10, would be the options compatible for your usage needs.

Q: 4. how many shoots i can take with this using two new battery ( original canon one) ???

A: There's no good way to answer that question, because it depends on your shooting style. There are way too many things that affect shot count. * Wi-Fi is a huge power draw. * GPS is a relatively small one, but it still adds up pretty quickly if you don't turn the camera off when not in use. * The screen is a big power sink, so shooting with live view is a major battery hog, and setting a long preview time also hurts shot count. * Shooting RAW + JPEG uses more battery power than either mode alone. * Writing your shots to both flash cards simultaneously uses more battery power than writing to only one. * Different lenses draw different amounts of power from the body (and defective lenses can draw a *lot* of power, particularly if the IS motors don't turn off properly). * Even the ISO setting has an effect on power count; there's only a tiny power impact from the amplification itself, but the resulting increase in noise causes the files to be larger (poorer compression), which means you keep the flash chips powered up longer to write the photos.About the only thing that's certain is that you should get about twice as many shots with a grip as you get without it.

Q: 5. What is the material? Magnesium, plastic, or a combo?

A: Both - same as the camera body.

Q: 6. what if i start a video and take a one battery from the battery grip and replace it with a new one ??? or can use the grip with only one battery ????

A: If I understand your question well, then if you start a video then you cannot take battery out from the battery grip, because you have to pull out both batteries with the holder, to remove one and then the video will stop as no battery will be in contact to provide power to the camera. Anyway it works with one battery, if the battery holder is pushed back to the grip and properly locked. I hope this helps :-)

Q: 7. Can this Battery Grip for other Canon EOS cameras?

A: This grip is only used for the 5DIV. Mostly all grips are proprietary to a single camera.

Q: 8. How do you attach the AC-E6 AC adapter to BG-E20?

A: Please refer to image below on attachment instructions;

Q: 9. this product made in Japan or Taiwan ?

A: According to the information we have in our system concerning the Canon BG-E20 Battery Grip for EOS 5D Mark IV, B&H # CABGE20, our current inventory's country of origin is Taiwan. Please be aware this can change by the manufacturer over the product's production life without notice.

A: Yes. It has the universal tripod threading mount on the bottom.

[1.165 lb] This battery grip extends battery life at the expense of added weight. I use the Mark IV on a tripod, so weight is not a problem. I also use it with a Camranger / live view, so extending battery life helps a lot.

[1/4"-20 Female] I purchased the Canon BG-E20 even tho it is much more money then an after market unit, I had purchased a after market battery unit for my 7d it never felt solid or sturdy, so this time I went for the canon unit so far I am extremely happy with it, easy setup the camera and unit marry well together, it is a little heavier but that is what makes it sturdy

[1.165 lb] I had thought about getting the cheaper, non-Canon version but I am sure I made the right choice. All connections are perfect with the plug-in battery and it is very easy to use with the standard batteries. There are many times when I need to have the camera on a tripod without moving for a long period of time to preserve my Photoshop changes on the initial shot. This allows me to not stress over waiting for client changes or approval. A quality product from Canon. Go with the real deal.

[1/4"-20 Female] I love the bigger grip and when taking portrait photos. To me this and the 5D Mark iv is as good at the 1D'd and less expensive.

[1.165 lb] Far outweigh the cost. It helps balance long lenses.
