The Digitalinx DL-DAC2 Stereo Digital Analog Audio Converteris an easy-to-use device that converts coaxial and optical S/PDIF digital audio into stereo analog audio, perfect for multimedia components such as TVs or CD/DVD/Blu-ray players that do not feature analog outputs.

Use the dual RCA phono outputs to connect the unit to an amplifier or powered speakers, and use the 1/8" mini stereo output for simultaneous headphone monitoring. The DL-DAC2 supports PCM digital audio at resolutions up to 96 kHz and can be powered via the included power supply or alternately via USB.

A: No delay. It works very well for me.

Q: 6. How much audio power is delivered to earphone jack? Is this paralleled with the RCA jacks?

A: This is a passive box adding no amplification to the signal. The outpit to both the RCA and 3.5mm will be at line level.

Q: 7. I have a Allen & Heath Zed 24 mixer. Where do I get the outputs to go into this patch box that are R&L on mixer?

A: Next to the Main Left and Right outputs on the Zed 24, there are secondary outputs that you can use to connect the Left & Right signals to the Henry Engineering Patch Box II.

Q: 8. Can the word clock input receive timecode from a Deity TC-1?

A: No, the word clock input on the Dangerous Music CONVERT-8 Reference-Grade Digital-to-Analog Converter cannot receive timecode from a Deity TC-1 Timecode Generator Box. Word clock and timecode serve different purposes. Word clock is used to keep a perfectly timed and constant bitrate to avoid timing errors that can cause data transmission errors while timecode provides metadata about the media data being transmitted.

[2] This converter is used to interconnect a legacy stereo system with a modern digital one. The D to A converter is also compatible with the 24-bit, 48 kHz digital files I create myself in digitizing vinyl LPs. I use this D to A converter to feed the coaxial SPDIF output from a hi-res audio player into the legacy analog monitoring system. I also have the reverse Analog to Digital Gefen converter going the opposite direction. Simple, inexpensive, and no audible latency when used with video. Using the A to D converter with the optical digital output also eliminates 60Hz hum that is common with a pile of components all interconnected. The D to A converter is also compatible with the 24-bit, 48 kHz digital files I create myself in digitizing vinyl LPs. I use the D to A converter to feed the coaxial SPDIF output from a hi-res audio player into the legacy analog monitoring system. In the midst of the high end hype that is common with digital audio devices, it is refreshing to find devices like these Gefen converters that work perfectly for such a low cost. 5

[AD/DA Converter] I bought this to convert the digital audio output to analog so I could use my older TV subwoofer and satellite speakers. What they dont mention is it includes a 3 fiber cable. So if its long enough, dont bother to buy one separately, like I did. 5

[2] Thankfully nothing much to say, you plug in what you need and it just works. I needed a DAC to take output from an AV system and monitor the audio through active speakers, and didn't need a high-end converter. For casual use cases this works just fine, and the price is right. 5

[6 x 4.9 x 2.7"] The unit is plastic and feels a bit cheap, but the price was cheap too so Im happy. It worked perfectly for audio out of a older Vizio 1080p TV (via the Toslink Digital Optical Audio out cable) into the Adapter, and then RCA cables out of the Adapter into a vintage Denon stereo receiver. Finally have great TV sound for one of my smaller rooms. 5
