Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the width at the ends?

A: The width of the ends is approximately 1/2' / 12.7mm.

Q: 2. With the Leica Q I notice that the essential handgrip can be at odds with the O ring on the provided strap. Will the handgrip fit with this strap? Is this strap really better than the standard issue?

A: Not a problem - plenty of clearance

Q: 3. Will this strap fit a Leica R6 or F-E?

A: I have one on my Nikkormat FTn, which is not small, so I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't fit just as well on a Leica R6. And it's long enough to sling over both my neck and shoulder and carry it behind me . . . in normal clothes. But it probably wouldn't be long enough to do the same thing with a heavy bulky jacket on. If I were really skinny - maybe.

Q: 4. Does this strap support a camera with a lens weighing around 1kg?

A: Yes, this strap can hold 1KG or approximately 2lbs.

Q: 5. Does it work with the dog-ear m3?

A: Yes, Leica Leather Carrying Strap offers rings to connect your strap on the Leica M3 dog-ear type lug. The second image on this product displays a Leica camera with the strap on.

Q: 6. Can you use this leather strap on the Leica Q if you have already the half case? Would the case be in the way?

A: I would think that this leather strap would fit with the half case as long as the half case does not obstruct the eyelet where the metal circle clip fits into the eyelet. Keep in mind that this leather strap is very long and camera hangs much lower on the chest than with Leica's strap that has the plastic or rubber-like pad that sits at the back of one's neck; I prefer that strap and the cost is less than half that of the leather one.

Q: 7. Does it work with the M3 with dog-ear?

A: Yes, Leica Leather Carrying Strap offers rings to connect your strap on the Leica M3 dog-ear type lug. The second image on this product displays a Leica camera with the strap on.

Q: 8. Can the extra neck padding slide along the strap, can it be removed? I am looking for a leather strap that i can easily twirl around my wrist to hold the camera. The rubber padding of the strap that comes with the camera is glued in place and gets on the way when i twist the strap around my risk. Thank you in advance for your response

A: Yes, on my sample, the leather pad is free to move from side-to-side, along the narrower main strap. Complete removal could be difficult, because the pad can't slide past the place where the strap attaches to the camera. For complete removal of the pad, it seems the pad needs must be cut off with scissors, or a knife. Bear in mind the current strap may not be quite the same as my strap, because more than a year has passed since I bought it.

Q: 9. What is the length of this strap?

A: The strap is adjustable. Each side has three holes for adjusting the length of the strap. I have my strap adjusted using the middle hole on each side, and it is about 43 long if one measures to the ends of the rings that connect to the camera (an inch shorter if one measures the leather only). The holes are about 2-3/4 apart. So, subtract 5-1/2 from my length for the length of shortest adjustment (37-1/2 ); or add 5-1/2 for the length of longest adjustment (48-1/2 ).'Hope that helps.

Q: 10. Will this work with the M4?

A: Yes, the strap works fine on the M4.

[0.25 lb] I bought a couple of these and I'm using them on my Leica M240 and Canon 70D. Each of these cameras weighs about 1 3/4 pounds without a lens and more with lenses (up to four pounds with my M240 and Noctilux combo). In each case I've found the strap to remain comfortable and not digging into my neck. In fact, compared to the standard neck strap supplied with each of these cameras, this strap has to be the most comfortable of the bunch. The extra leather supplied as padding is in fact much more comfortable and padded than one would suppose from the picture or even once this strap is unpacked. Overall, I would highly recommend this strap for a light weight to medium weight camera and lens setup.

[Yes] This is a quality product. These are made of a nice top grain leather. they connect easily enough, and there are leather guard at the connection to isolate the metal rings on the strap from the anodized surface of the camera, which should prevent any scratching. The price is a little high for what it is, but it is a good product. If quality is important to you, which it must be if you bought a Leica camera, than you should be satisfied with this strap.

[0.25 lb] I bought this for the Fujifilm X-T1. Its a 500% improvement over the stock strap. The leather is of very high grade, Soft and thick. The shoulder pad have a very soft rubber backing that treat you neck like baby skin and won't slip.

[Yes] It is definitely a bit overpriced but then again everything Leica has its collectable value I guess. I purchased this strap for my M3 which has the buddha lugs. They are a little wide for the holes on this leather strap but I managed to get it on them. So I think this strap is designed for the newest M series cameras, but it also works fine for the older ones.
