But don't let its compact size fool you, this tripod is capable of reaching a 56.3" maximum height, a 14.2" minimum working height, and can support up to 8.8 lb while weighing just 2.5 lb.

With a focus on special features and ease of use, the Element Small series features a few special design features that make it a versatile accessory for any image maker. Third, each leg features three independent leg positions engaged by a spring-loaded lock, allowing you to position each leg separately on uneven terrain.

The Element Small includes a dual-lock, Arca-type compatible ball head. It has a large, primary knob for controlling movement of the ball and a second smaller knob for engaging the 360° independent pan. The head also features a vertical notch for 90° tilts, a 1/4"-20 camera mounting screw, and degree markings on the panning base.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Ball head removable? I assume so but it's not certain one way or the other. Thanks.

A: Yes, the ball head is removable, but the threads on the remaining stud are larger than the normal camera mounts. I imagine you can attach other head assemblies (i.e. ones with tilt/pan arms, etc.) In other words, you can remove the ball head, but can't attach a camera directly to the stand without some form of adapter.

Q: 2. Is this 58" high or 56.3" high? The manfrotto site lists it as one height and B&H lists it as another.

A: Pardon the confusion. It is listed at being 56.3" at maximum height. We are working to correct the information on our specifications page.

Q: 3. Hi, what size are the threads for the ball head? Is it 3/8"? I checked the manufacturer website and can't seem to find the answer. Can I replace the ball head with a different head?

A: Manfrotto Element Small Aluminum Traveler Tripod has a 3/8-16 female thread on the ball head base mount. The tripod legs also have a 3/8-16 screw therefore you can replace the ball head.

Q: 4. Where it made? Is there any other tripot lighter than this one?

A: Did you want to know where was the tripod made? It is made in China. I have used it in several occasions, it is light weight and it suits perfectly my A6000 and telephoto zoom lens 100 - 300 mm. I am sure there a lighter tripods, but probably made of carbon fiber and considerably more expensive

Q: 5. Does this take Arca plates?

A: Yes, the head on the Manfrotto Element Carbon Fiber Small Traveler Tripod (Black) is takes most Arca-Swiss style plates.

Q: 6. What other accessories are included in the box, for this particular tripod?

A: A Carrying Case is included

Q: 7. Can you reverse the central column to create a makeshift copy stand?

A: Unfortunately, the center column cannot be reversed.

Q: 8. Can I pan the camera with this tripod, I mean separately from the ball head? Thank you!

A: yeah there is a seperate pan below the ball head

Q: 9. How can I do low angle shot with this tripod?

A: Min Height is 14 as stated in description. That is as low as you can go.

Q: 10. I removed the ball head from the tripod and misplaced it afterwards, is there any way to get a new one for this tripod?

A: Manfrotto does not sell the head for the Element Small Aluminum Traveler separately but you can use other brand heads such as this Smith Victor: https://bhpho.to/3JkOs6o

[Yes] This is the perfect all-around tripod! super small when folded up, it can fit in water bottle holders on backpacks or can pack neatly in your camera bag. The ball head is perfect for being able to level out your shots, both horizontal and vertical. Its small form factor can help you get shots in tight spaces, but can also be extended all the way to eye level! It is light, so it has a hanger underneath if you want to do long exposures or if theres wind. Its just perfect for all photography situations, especially if you are looking to travel! It is also perfect for my video needs as well. my Manfrotto 502AH Pro Video Head with Flat Base screws right on when you detach the ball head. Even though my video set-up is quite heavy, the tripod is sturdy enough so the tripod can handle it like nothing.

If you're looking for a tripod and a travel tripod, this is definitely the one for you, its on the cheaper end, but the quality is next level. Definitely a bang for your buck tripod, and it's worth every penny!

[3 Positions] At a folded length of 12 inches, this tripod fits easily inside my backpack for air travel, instead of being strapped to the outside of the backpack and advertising that I am carrying camera gear.

[+90° to -32°] This isn't going to be anyones favorite tripod, but it does one thing very well...travel. It fits perfectly inside most carry-on luggage, it's light weigh, easy to set up and durable. I bought two for filming basic interviews in the field on Sony alpha bodies and have zero complaints.

[+90° to -32°] Manfrotto has always been a good name in tripods. This is a tiny thing... I'm using it as an extra-portable tripod to keep around 'just in case'. I've already used it at about 8 spontaneous shoots. The nondescript pouch and small size makes this un-interesting to car thieves. It's a nice tool, with a real arca ballhead (so it can work with L brackets for example).

[3 Positions] Good price for the tripod. I just wanted something I can fit in my bag and get more family photos that I am actually in now! It has served its purpose so far. Ball head handles my Fuji with 16-55 2.8 without any movement when tightening and it is quick and easy to set up and put back.

[Yes] A very nice quality unit that packs up small, comes with a travel bag and fits right in my MC top case with lots of room to spare. It's perfect for on the road. This tripod and at least two cameras are with me whenever I go for a ride/travel.

[Ball Head] I wanted this primarily for astrophotography, and I was pleasantly surprised. I took it on a trip to a remote island and used it to take Milky Way pictures with long shutter speeds (20 sec+). The terrain was rough and the wind was really blowing, and the tripod was surprisingly stable. I kept the legs short and wide and it worked just fine.
