Q: 2. Does this require or work with a switch between xmitter & receiver? Would it work if I had a long-range 802.11n (Wifi) dedicated network connection (not shared, not hosting general network traffic. (Such as Ubiquity M2 Rocket) How would it handle a layer 3 switch or router in the middle?

A: Our network is built on gigabit managed switches feeding wall ports and wifi access points. When these transmitters and receivers are hooked up anywhere on the network, it basically disables wifi by swamping the access points with multicast packets. I have to create VLANs on the switches to separate the video traffic from everything else in order to keep wifi working. However, even without the VLANs, performance on the wired network seems ok while these things are running.

Q: 3. Will this work to extend my 3 PTZOptics 30x NDI PoE Cameras in series 984'? Both data and Power?

A: Yes, it should be able to send the signal for both signal and power.

Q: 4. Where do you get extra receivers without having to buy extra transmitters? Is there a link for that?

A: Unfortunately Muxlab only sells the MuxLab HDMI Wireless Extender Kit. They do not offer a receiver only option. At this time you would have to purchase the kit to add more wireless receivers.

Q: 5. I have a Dahua NVR with 8 camera support. I have one Ethernet cable running to a corner of my house where I want to put two cameras. Can I use this to split the ethernet cable to two cameras?

A: Yes; this was the exact use case I used it for as well. You just need to ensure your POE power supply is large enough to support both of the cameras.

A: No. It is amazingly fast.

Q: 7. Hello. Does this camera come with an SDI/BNC connection? I see one in the picture, but there is no mention in the specs IO.

A: Yes, the MuxLab HDMI/IP PTZ Camera with PoE & 30x Zoom does indeed include HDMI and 3G-SDI output.

Q: 8. Can the rj45 port pass POE? I want to use the HDMI for video and power a camera from the Ethernet port.

A: This product comes with a POE Extender Kit. It has POE.

Q: 9. What is the MuxLab part number for the DC Power Supply recommended for this? 12V DC brick when used without a POE network switch

A: MuxLab do not make a proprietary DC Power Supply for the MuxLab Dante/Quad Channel Audio PoE Gateway however, any 12VDC, 1A (amp) minimum power supply with positive polarity will provide sufficient power when using without a POE (PSE) Ethernet switch.

Q: 10. I have a Mac Pro Tower, i want to send signal from my computer(dvi) to atem pro 4k. either 1080p60fps or 30fps. Will this be able to do these formats ? I want it to match with the studio camera. how do you change the output signal ?

A: I did buy this but ended up using a HDMI to SDI connector for this task from a MBP laptop and Mac Mini. I used a Black Magic Mini Converter HDMI to SDI. I then used a SDI to Thunderbolt to send video back to each machine. Search on B&H for Blackmagic Design CONVMBHS2

[Wired] Ask for a simple DVI/USB KVM switch and get one with this cool little wired remote! No more fumbling for the big switch or trying to remember key commands. That little remote with adhesive is stuck to the monitor base. One click and I'm on the next machine. Simple setup. Integrated cables make it nice. And fast switching, with the little remote, of course, makes it sweet! 5

[2.85 Watt] Simple, reliable, and solid. I havent used the audio piece but everything else has been perfect. It would help if this could use one cable between transmitter and receiver but it has worked great as it is. 5

[328 ft] It was easy to set up and install. It's very straight forward. It switches between 2 computers as it's meant too. I would recommend if this is your intended goal. 5

[1 lb] This device works great when used with the Muxlab Extender. I came right out of the extender into a 10 port gigabit POE switch, and ran 5 monitors up to 200ft from the switch to each decoder. You do need a decoder for each monitor. Since the switch was POE I did not have to use the provided power supply for any decoder 5

[4.4 in] Bought this and its matching rx. They seem pretty good. You can select different definitions, FHD, HD, SD, and then can assign them to the 3 types, and allocate bit rates for each. Eg you can select HD, send that to SD and a bit rate of 800 and FHD to HD and a bit rate of 2000 etc. It then selects the resolution type, eg 720P. The only limitation I find a bit strange is that the full range of resolutions, are not available all the time. They vary what is available depending on the Hz, 50Hz or 60Hz of the incoming HDMI. I am using 60Hz, and this does not have 1080i, but if I was using 50Hz, then 1080i would be included. 60Hz has 480i, 480P, 720P, 1080P. 50Hz has 576i, 576P, 720P, 1080P, 1080i. The other strange thing I notice is that if I select a bit rate of 800Kbps, and then monitor the link at the IP level, it seems to be using about 3.5Mbps. However, for quality and ease of use, these seem to be great devices. 5
