The 1" aluminum dome tweeter is designed to be light, efficient, and rigid, providing high SPL (sound pressure level) with minimal distortion and a sense of transparency. It deploys a finite-element-analysis (FEA)-optimized diffuser to help ensure that the tweeter has optimal on-axis and off-axis frequency response, so that everyone in your listening room gets the best performance.

The 4.5" bass woofer is built on a cast ABS-fiberglass composite basket for enhanced component alignment and an inert frame without resonances or added harmonics. Its polypropylene cone is designed to be light and rigid to give a flat frequency response and the SPL necessary to keep up with the other drivers.The woofer uses aluminum shorting rings for reduced distortion, and a vented voice coil former to keep the motor assembly cool during high SPL playback. For augmented bass extension, the cabinet is rear-ported and tuned for the woofer.

The SoundMatch crossover uses air-core inductors and heavy-trace printed circuit boards to help produce sound with lower distortion and tighter tolerances with better heat dissipation. The 2-way crossover is tuned so each driver can blend each other while offering optimal on- and off-axis response, while maintaining phase coherency and sharp time domain behavior.

A: These speakers are rated at 6 ohms. Running them from a 4 ohm source has the potential to damage the amp and the speakers, if played loudly and for long periods. I'm not recommending this practice, but if you proceed cautiously.

Q: 10. Will these speakers work with Sony STR-DH590 receiver?

[85 dB] Outstanding speakers. Make sure to open your audio console and turn off ALL equalization and sound effects. At first, the sound was terrible, but once I cancelled all the equalization and sound effects, the speakers truly shined. Highly recommended. 5

[2-Way] I bought a pair of these for my Gen Z daughter as a gift to dip her toe in stereo/vinyl. I hadn't heard them until last week but I was surprised at how great they sound. I have had some stupid expensive gear over the years so I wasn't expecting much out of these for the price. Forget the price, these are simply a wonderful addition to her system. I am thinking of a pair for myself in my studio. 5

[85 dB] I work in the home automation industry so I listen to a lot of high end speakers all the time. Let me say that you'll get the same sound out of 200$ speakers that you would get in 7000$ speakers but, that doesn't mean these aren't worth picking up. For 200$ the Kevlar woofers give a nice warm mid-low end and the silk tweeter provides excellent clarity. These speakers were tested at low, medium, and high volumes and provides excellent retention of quality. Although they look very appealing to the eyes, the chassis is a bit cheaper feeling, but for the price who is feeling their speakers all the time? Overall 5-star. Will append 6 months down the road 5

[20 to 150 W] I've had the YU4s in the bedroom for about six months and continue to be very impressed with the quality of sound from these powered speakers. They are perfect for use with your phone or tablet and they have every kind of input for just about any other media. The highs are incredibly clear and bright and they have surprisingly rich lows for bookshelf size speakers. The sound fills the bedroom space well and the bamboo finish, shape and exposed design blend great with the decor. All aspects of these YU4s from the packaging to the sound are high quality and as usual, the buying experience and service from B and H is the best. 5

[20 to 150 W] I have a bit of addiction to small, bookshelf loudspeakers. I have Klipsch RP600m, B&W DM601, Jamo S801, KEF 103.2, and others....I bought these Kanto YUP6 on glowing reviews I saw on YouTube. For under $200, how could I go wrong. Well, they are simply amazing! They outperform and/or rival all the other speakers I have in my collection. In fact, I recently put them up against $1600 KEF LS50 Meta and they actually held there own! Not sure there was $1400 of improvement. Not sure what magic dust Kanto used, but they built a unicorn! 5

[15.65 lb] The speakers arrived quickly and in excellent condition. The speakers themselves are excellent and I'm thrilled about the purchase. They are passive speakers, so setup was very simple -- I just had to run some speaker wire to both speakers from my amp. Best pair of speakers I've ever owned.
