Ilford Delta 100 B&W Film 8x10", 25 Sheetsis a medium-speed black and white negative film featuring core-shell crystal technology in order to produce extremely sharp results with a fine, uniform grain structure. It has a nominal sensitivity of ISO 100/21° when developed in standard black and white chemistry, but its wide exposure latitude permits rating the film between EI 50 and EI 200 with maintained results. This versatile film is especially well-suited for fine art and pictorial use, as well as general applications requiring high edge sharpness and unobtrusive grain.

This item is one box of 25 sheets of 8 x 10" film.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I'm building a 8x10 camera and I'm wondering what the exact dimensions (like in centimetres) of this film is?

A: The film measures 253 mm on the long edge and 201 mm on the short edge

Q: 2. Is it OK to process in D 76, if so would 1:1 or stock be best?

A: D 76 is an excellent all purpose developer and would work fine. However, you may want to consider other ones based on the type of film. Ilford's Delta films and Kodak's T-Max films have T grain emulsions. They are considered the newer type of films and therefore have newer developers. TMax dev made by Kodak and I can't remember the Ilford version (DD something???) are specifically designed to work with T grains. Older emulsions like Kodak Tri-x or Ilford's HP-5 work better with D 76 (older developer). I personally have worked with Delta films and Xtol developer from Kodak and got great results. Other people that I know have used D 76 and it worked for them, but I was more impressed with the tonal and grain nature of Delta/Xtol. As far as 1:1 dilution or stock, I always dilute unless I need a faster developing time. It's more economical and not as critical on the time. I also use it 1:1 as a one shot developer and chuck it out after I use it. This gives me more consistent results. Finally, there is a web site called Digital Truth Photo that lists every film, every developer and a ton of film developer combinations/temperatures/dilution. It's got it all. Good luck.

Q: 3. 4 x 5 film continuance?Will 4 x 5 film continue?

A: Yes, for now and Hope to God forever!

Q: 4. I would like to ask what is the effective time of these films?thank you

A: If you are asking what the expiration date is on the film, that is generally within 6 months to 1 year from now.

Q: 5. What's the expiry date if i were to get now?

A: The following item has a expiry date of march 2024. Recorded on 3/18/22

Q: 6. I am needing a film that will lay fairly flat for scanning. Does this film have a lot of curl?

A: The Ilford Delta 100 Professional Black and White Negative Film (120 Roll Film) doesn't have a lot of curl and can be lay fairly flat for scanning.

Q: 7. What is the expired date ?

A: B&H buys and sells film in bulk. In general we regularly maintain fresh film stock. All of our film is at least 6 months from expiration (typically much longer). Anytime film stock is less than 6 months from expiration we sell it in a separate section and label it as short-dated film and also price it with a slight discount (again due to the volumes we sell this rarely occurs). Unfortunately we do not have access to our inventory to hand inspect the expiration date of any of our films prior to purchase.

Q: 8. How many exposures are on this roll of film?

A: That depends upon the type of Medium format camera you are using. There are at least three major frames sizes. The most common being the square 6 x 6 Centimeter or 2&1/4 X 2&1/4 used by the Rolleiflex TLR, Yashicamat and Hasselblad 500 series. In that case you will get 12 exposures per roll of 120 Delta 100 film.

Q: 9. Is this a continuous-tone film, or a "lith" type emulsion (very high contrast) for repro work?

A: The Ilford Ortho Plus Black and White Negative Film (12 x 20", 25 Sheets) is Orthochromatic B&W Negative Film. It is high contrast. Ideal for Tech. & Half-Tone Applications.

Q: 10. What is the exposure latitude of Delta 100?

A: It has been a long time since I stopped experimenting with similar issues. I think 50/200 is about it.I mainly use xtol, and am happy with results within that range.Hope this could be of some help

[1.39 lb] Ilford continues to provide high quality black and white films and papers. 5x7 is a less popular format and B&H making 100 sheet boxes available at this price is commendable, thank you. I was skeptical about Delta emulsions having favored more traditional products like FP4. I am extremely happy with the image quality from Delta 100. The tonal range is superior and it prints beautifully processed in PMK.

[100] This is probably the best deal on b/w film on the market. 100 sheets of Delta 100 for $129.95, about $1.30 per sheet in other words. Delta 100 is a beautiful fine grain film that will work for practically all application except those that require high speed. Portraits, landscapes are the best use overall.

[25 Sheets] Its ilford 100, if you are buying 4x5 film you have shot this in 35mm and 120, you know what you are getting into. Reliable and repeatable.

[100] Used it for years. Travels (long distance motorcycle tours) well in abusive temperature conditions. Thick base for easy 'handling'. D-76 at 1:1 gives me twelve tones at the rated ASA.

[100] I echo all of the positive comments about this film. I have used it in 35mm and 4x5 large format, but it's even more amazing in 8x10. The fineness of the grain, the clarity and tonal separation are terrific. I only wish it were not so expensive!
