Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Which LR print settings do you use to avoid white borders? (I've tried various settings but always get a sliver of a white border on one or two sides.) Thanks!

A: We recommend that you contact Adobe support. https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html?promoid=RGJ8NLP8&mv=other

Q: 2. Does this paper contain optical brightening agents?

A: For purists, only natural fine art paper that say they don't have optical brighteners, like Canson who have been in business for over 500 years making paper. Although though Moab paper doesn't say anything on their website, brighteners might be present in small quantities.

Q: 3. What is the surface like on this reverse side of this paper? Can you inkjet print text or write with a ballpoint pen?

A: The Moab Lasal Exhibition Luster 300 Paper (4 x 6") 50 Sheets BH #MOLEL4650 is single sided and not coated for Inkjet on the back so you would not be able to print on it but could write with a felt tip pen.

Q: 4. Is the Baryta any easier to de-curl and dry mount than the rolls of Canson Platine? It’s the same weight but 1mm thinner.

A: The 1mm thickness difference in the Canson Infinity Baryta Photographique II paper roll will give you marginal differences in curling.

Q: 5. Is this paper archival?

A: Although the Moab Lasal Exhibition Luster 300 Paper is Acid Free, it still contains optical brightening agents (OBAs), so although this is a good thick exhibition luster, for strict evaluation this is NOT considered an archival paper.

Q: 6. This is a fairly heavy paper, any problems with rolling it up and shipping in a 4" mailing tube ?

A: The Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta Satin Paper can be rolled and shipped in a tube.

Q: 7. This looks intriguing. Is it special purpose paper? One review mentions an adhesive. What are the prints meant to be attached to? Thanks.

A: It's the same as the full sized paper sheets or rolls. The only thing is due to the thickness of this paper & small size,, you might have to manual feed it in the larger printers (those that take up to 13x19 & above). Being so the manual feed won't recognize the 4x6 therefore you need to mount iton a larger paper. Please note this paper wont fit into the small all in one photo printers due to its thickness.

Q: 8. Are just the tins available without the paper?

A: Unfortunately the metal case that comes with the Hahnemuhle FineArt Baryta FineArt Photo Cards (4 x 6", 30 Cards) is not sold separately.

Q: 9. On Epson SureColor P800 printer: Can this be loaded via sheet feeder or is it too thick and needs to go in the front, fine art loader?

A: The sheet feeder should work, but it might take a strain on the pick-up rollers to wear out sooner. Also wouldn't load the feeder to capacity.

Q: 10. Can these photo cards be sent as postcards through the mail?

A: Yes, the Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta FineArt Photo Cards (4 x 6", 30 Cards) BH #HAFAB4630 can be sent as postcards through the mail.

[96%] I wanted a paper that would give me nice deep blacks rather than the brownish tones I was seeing with other Baryta papers. This one delivered very nicely. I would recommend. I'm using an Epson R3000 printer.

[Glossy] I use Innova FibaPrint White Matte for all my black and white fine art prints. I use an Epson 4800 (hence 17 width roll) converted to a K7 machine using Jon Cone's Piezography inks. After dry down I use liquid laminate to give my prints that true air dried fiber print look.

[1x Paper Roll] There is a universe of excellent cotton digital printing papers. However, IMO the Innova ECG is special. Of course there are no OBAs and the paper is 100% cotton with a heft and hand that is extremely satisfying...nothing flimsy here! The paper is slightly to the warm side and hence will complement those landscape images that will benefit from a warmer tone. What makes the paper special is the unique coating that to my eyes adds depth and presence to one's prints. That is not to denigrate the quality of other cotton papers, but simply to point out that those seeking a special sense of dimensionality will find that prints made with the Innova ECG have to my eyes the special "look" that I find unique. The paper is well packed with interleaving sheets and is easy to handle. The ICC profile from Innova is I believe relatively new and works well with my P800. Indeed, I have not found the need to have "personal ICC profiles" constructed. IMO the paper is worth the small additional cost.

[96%] I don't know why this paper is not more popular but it an excellent baryta paper, in all respects very much like the now discontinued Canson Baryta Photographique (the original version) and Epson Legacy Baryta (original version). It's next to impossible to distinguish the Innova paper from the other two mentioned, except for perhaps a very slight difference in surface finish (and I'm not sure about that). For people wanting a successor baryta paper to the other two, this seems to be it and, at least for now, it appears to be readily available from Innova's American warehouse in one of the northeast states, although not always in stock at B&H . [96%] Pricey, but worth every penny if you need Archival. If Archival or OBA presence isn't critical, the Canson Photographique Matte Baryta is just as good and significantly more affordable.
That said, the Hahnemuhle paper is brilliant. It's matte produces rich deep blacks and reproduces sharp details on par with standard Baryta and luster style papers. All without the glare or sheen.
