The TAMA Roadpro HS80W Snare Stand | Compact & Durablefrom TAMA Roadpro HS80W Snare Stand | Compact & Durableis a road-worthy stand designed to provide a secure and durable support for a snare drum with diameter ranging from 12 to 15", and to let you easily position it to precisely fit your playing style.

The HS80W is adjustable in height from 19.5 to 25.2". It features the company's Quick-Set Tilter and a swiveling basket which work together to let you find the perfect angle for your snare. The stand's escape claws are equipped with rubber cushions which allow the snare drum to float on the basket arms, for improved resonance. They also help reduce playing fatigue by softening the impact on your arms and wrists.

Unequally spaced basket arms eliminate contact with the strainer or butt, for snares with 8 or 10 lugs. Furthermore, the tripod base and double-braced legs give this stand extra stability for hard-hitting drummers.

  • Glide-Tite Grip Joint allows for a secure attachment by using a metal-to-metal contact point which provides a solid anchor and complete isolation for snare drum
  • Because the stand does not move with the snare, the natural resonance of the instrument is maximized

  • Company's patented toothless Quick-Set Tilter holds its position using the friction of six smooth metal disc plates instead of traditional toothed gears
  • Durable mechanism lets you position snare at any desired angle

  • Asymmetrically spaced basket arms allow an 8- or 10-lug snare drum to be held without interference from its strainer, butt or lugs
  • Basket rotates independently from the stand and lets you place the strainer in any position needed

  • Escape claws rubber cushions allow the snare drum to "float" on the basket arms for improved resonance
  • Help reduce fatigue by softening the impact of snare drum playing on your arms and wrists

  • Nylon washers are inserted into the leg stand joints to improve durability and make the leg action smoother

[8 lb] These ultra compact stands are just great! I carry 2 of these stands with me all day during 15-20 hour Indian weddings. I mount a speed light to each stand and occasionally an umbrella. They do wobble, but I know they aren't going anywhere. I previously used very similar Calumet brand stands, but they started to fail after a couple years of hard use. I have also tried the Manfrotto counterpart. However, Westcott's version is just as sturdy, but also taller than the competition. As a bonus, the legs are removable to form a monopole. I'm not sure why this isn't advertised. It's a nice function that works securely. Buy these if you need ultra portable or travel stands that don't need to support much more weight than speedlights.

[8 lb] I purchased this light stand to travel with me. I needed something lightweight and compact. This fills the bill. For a lightweight stand, I don't know how this could be any better, for the price. It travels in a very compact state, sets up easily, and holds a speedlight with a 26 softbox.

[Double-braced] These light stands are remarkably lightweight and pretty well-made. I've been using them with Westcott LED mats and their Solix lights, and really can't complain. The base is wide enough to support the stand even with substantial off-center loads, and 7 ft is nothing to sneeze at.

[7 lb / 3.2 kg] When I found these I decided I must have 2. And I don't regret it one but! They fit perfectly in my carry on bag and then when I realized I was able to put both on my think tank airport carry on bag without worrying they would fall out I was blown away! Happy with both of these purchases and can't wait to do some more traveling with them.

[7 lb / 3.2 kg] I have a lot of aluminum stands laying around and what i hate the most is that they all have these flimsy plastic components that wear down over time. This model from westcott feels and looks great. Everything is metal and the telescoping pole is also narrower than most other brands.

[Double-braced] I bought the TAMA Tour Mic Stand to take on location audio situations that require a voice over along with specific voice over style microphones.  This is primarily for clients that prefer or feel more comfortable having a mic stand.  The TAMA Tour Series stand gets a 5 Star rating primarily for its solid build quality with a reasonable weight to keep it portable and easy to transport.  I prefer the TAMA Tour round base because the stand does not thread directly into the base ( a weakness of other brand round base stands) and is not subject to cross threading or breakage at the base.  The center shaft of the TAMA stand actually  slides into the base and is secured by a T-bolt from the bottom side of the round base.  Genius!  I prefer the TAMA Tour Series to other non-TAMA brands for solid performance, portability and durability.  I would not consider adding a boom arm to this particular stand and suspend any of my microphones at any distance away from the main shaft.  If you need a boom arm stand get one with a tripod base for stability.  For vocalists, public address or voice over this stand will serve you well.  Disclaimer:  the only stands I like better than the TAMA Tour Series stands are the TAMA Studio Series stands which are the finest mic stands out there.  They are extremely stable, built like a tank, and heavy!  The Studio Series is hands down the best mic stands you can buy in my book.  If you dont move your mic stands around much for location work, get the Studio Series.  If you move your mic stands around frequently and portability is at the top of your list, then the Tama Tour Series deserves your serious consideration.

[7 lb / 3.2 kg] Originally I got this as an on-the-go light stand to take with me for indoor events but now I have found a couple uses for it. For events, it's great. It folds down enough to fit diagonally in my 1500 Pelican along with my DigiBee, Vagabond and a small softbox. Or I can throw it in the stretchy front pocket of my Think Tank Airport International camera bag. In the studio, I have been able to use it dropped to the ground as a background light stand to place between my subject and the background.
