Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this fit over a Sigma contemporary 150-600 lens? What about smaller telephotos such as under 105mm?

A: Yes, the LensCoat LensHide Water-Repellent Photo Blind is a good option for the Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary Lens. It is a but cumbersome to use with shorter lenses like 105mm, but it is possible.

Q: 2. I'm a 5'7" woman. Can I stand comfortably in this blind, or do I need to go up to the tall version?

A: This one is best for your height. The large is really for one who is six feet or taller.

Q: 3. Will this work for a Nikon D300 battery and a Nikon D7200 battery? If so, will I still be able to use the clear plastic cover that came with the battery to protect the connective metal on the battery and still fit easily in this pouch?

A: I purchased this for a Nikon D700 battery. I do not use any plastic cover on the batteries. Hope that helps.

Q: 4. Would it be possible to don this blind over myself with camera and tripod, and then wade into shallow waters, making this a water blind of sorts? I'd really love to be able to photograph waterfowl from as close to eye level (water level) as possible, but don't know if this would be two cumbersome when wet.

A: YEs you would be able to do that with this blind. Though it is not fully waterproof, it is water repellant, so I would just ensure to hang it to dry once you are done shooting for the day.

Q: 5. I am 6'2 and wondering if I the standard model would suit my height or get the 'TALL' version?

A: Tall You can use the extra material in other ways. I use a stadium seat with a tripod on the ground and I have a lot of freedom, enough to read have a drink and observe while waiting.

Q: 6. Is there room for a chair or do you need to stand at a tripod ?

A: If the chair is small enough to fit under the LensHide Water-Repellant Tall Photo Blind, then you should have no issues using them together.

Q: 7. Is this roomy enough for me to sit on a stool if I'm going to be in the same place a long time?

A: Yes, the LensCoat LensHide is large enough for both standing or sitting under the hide, and may be used with a small stool when seated under the hide.

Q: 8. Does anyone know if this will work with smaller lenses? I shoot the G9 with 100-300ii lens. It looks like the expect you to shoot a FF 600!

A: It can be adjusted to work with almost any lens and camera combination.

Q: 9. Would the part that goes over the lens hood be tightened enough for a smaller lens diameter like the Panasonic Leica 100-400?

A: Yes it can fit tight enough over a lens like the Panasonic 100-400mm

Q: 10. What is the difference between tall and normal Lens Hide version ?

A: The dimensions of the normal is 77"x68" and the Tall is 89"x68".

[3.23 lb] Make sure you need the water repellent type as it get very hot inside. Impossible to use in Texas summers. I assume their other model is more breathable

[2.8 lb / 1.3 kg] This blind works well as a portable option when you’re unable to leave a full setup in place(i.e. public land, high traffic areas, etc.) It doesn’t hide all movement but is better than sitting out in the open. I usually unzip the top portion on warm days for more ventilation and clearer visibility. It also packs down easily into its built-in storage bag. I would recommend this product to fellow photographers.
