A: Sounds like you are planning to use two step up rings - one 40.5 to 49, and one 49 to 82. I don't know of any reason why you couldn't do this physically. I use a 40.5mm to 49mm step up ring on my a6000 using the 16-15mm lens and have not experienced any vignetting. I would think the 82 step up would be wide enough not to cause vignetting.

[37 mm to 43 mm] As an engineering issue a step-up ring from one screw thread size to another is not hard. This one did what it claimed. I would be making a big fuss if it didn't. 5

[37 mm to 43 mm] Well made and sturdy. I got it as a make-shift hood for the tiny Panasonic 12-32mm which does not come with a hood for its minuscule 37mm filter thread. Although a 37-52mm step-up ring might make more sense depending on what filters or polarizers you want to attach. 5
