Q: 1. Is there a way to mount this on a wall or to a light pole? The images don't really show this.

A: The one I got from B&H has a detachable A shaped mounting bracket with a hole for a c-clamp. I would not recommend wall mounting because it will heat up during use and could cause damage or fire. It is a good unit with easy settings. Paul C, Decatur GA

A: No, it's only to be used with tungsten lamps.

Q: 3. Could one use these to control the output of AC powered Quasar LED tubes?

A: oh it would probably work then. It works by AC power dimming so it should be fine

Q: 4. Does it have a port where I can play my own music through it or is it pre loaded with it's own christmas music?

A: This is a dimmer pack, and does not have any pre-loaded music. It does have a small microphone so that it can be sound activated, and by using the dip switches you can change the pattern.

Q: 5. Can you connect multiple of these in any way?

A: You can connect the light strips together. There is no specific connection and just loose wires so you will need to rig it yourself. And make sure it is connected safely.

Q: 6. Somewhere I read not to use this for long periods of time Can I go 6 hours?

A: I've used the product for up to 3 or 4 hours at a time...I don't see why a few more hours would be a problem. There was no noticeable strain on the product. It does cause a humming sound from in my 1000w Lowel Pro light, but length of usage time doesn't seem to be an issue.

Q: 7. Are we able to cut these to size and still use the end we cut off?

A: Yes, they can be cut to size and still use the opposite end.

Q: 8. What do the sound activated programs control? If it is a light(s) then how long do they stay on?

A: Once the ED15 is set to the sound activation mode, it will chase through the built in programs as long as it hears audio.

Q: 9. Would the world come to a sudden end if I tried to use this dimmer on a 1,000W fluorescent light?

A: I suspect that part of the world including and immediately surrounding the ballast would be forever changed but that life would go on elsewhere.

Q: 10. Will this work in a 220v environment? I will be traveling to Russia and have already bought 220v light bulbs, but not sure if simply adapting this dimmer to their prongs will work. I have traveling before, but not with a dimmer.

A: Unfortunately, no, it would not. The Impact D-1000 1,000W AC Dimmer Control is only compatible for use with 110-120V AC outlets; it would not be compatible for use on 220V AC outlets. The Arri Dimmer - 100 Amps - 220V 60Hz, B&H # ARD60FT24, or the Arri 2400W Digital Dimmer (240 VAC), B&H # ARDD2400, would be the options we carry that would be compatible for use on 220V AC outlets.
