[16.4' (5.0 m)] I own two of the half-sized versions of this light (4x36) and they give such a gentle, soft light that I had to get this one. I didn't disappoint - strong luminance and a great CRI make this similar to an ARRI Skylight (without the color control - but I rarely need that).


On top of that, this light comes in a great semi-hard case that protects it well for transport. Ultimately, if you need a great soft light and don't want to spend $$$, this is the way to go.

[16.4' (5.0 m)] I just added my second to my overhead rail system replacing 2 of the SSL-36 4x36 lights. They have moved to another location. You should know that one 8 panel outputs 40% more lux than two 4 panels.


The two 4 panels are now repositioned to the clam shell configuration demonstrated in the Genaray setup video. They are a great new configuration for me, opening up the area under the eyebows, nose and chin. I love the image.

Strip lighting gives shadowless lighting on infomercials and tutorials. It makes studio lighting effortless. And is a vast improvement for me over mounting a bank of rectangular panels.


Now that I have two, I thought I could easily control the intensity of both with a single SSL-RC wireless remote. I does tune to 4 different channels as does the SSL-836. However, when you change channels, the last setting you used gets transmitted to the new channel. For example, setting channel A to 50% gets transmitted to channel B when you switch the controller to it and engage. So, if you need individual control over multiple lamps, you will need to buy a separate SSL-RC for each and leave each tuned to a different channel. For me use in a studio, one works because if I need to dim lighting I will dim all the lamps equally and for this a single SSL-RC works perfectly. The remote is not a substitute for a DMX panel, but it does give me the control I need for ceiling mounted lighting.

[Waterproof] I used this kit for a variety of green screen shoots, it worked exactly how I needed it. I was able to get a even distribution of light on the background. I had another Genaray light (LED-6200T) to light and backdrop behind the talent. The C-Stands are very heavy duty (including the boom). Definitely worth the cost (which I thought was reasonable) and will probably but another kit soon.

[Waterproof] I was looking for c stands that are out of stock at the moment so I purchased this handy dandy strip lighting duo. I was pleasantly surprised at how well they are built and the quality of the lighting the produce. The C stands are serious and not toys so Im a happy camper.

[0.75 lb] It is really a nice product, workable in many photo and video shooting situation.
I will recommend this product to photographers and video interviews.
Price is also good, fast delivery, nice cooperation.

[Waterproof] I own (3) of these that I use for a multitude of reasons; primarily for product photography. I find the light nice and diffuse and the easy changeable settings are a huge plus. Highly recommend!

[16.4' (5.0 m)] I bought this light to use as a wide back/hair light and it has worked very well. Featuring Sturdy construction with usable barn doors that do the job, this light makes getting excellent back lighting easy. A great feature is the dimmer on the power supply rather than on the light itself. Very happy with this purchase. A good value!

[0.75 lb] I photograph a lot of artist's paintings for them with an intended quality commensurate with high-resolution giclee printing. I have had a need for improved lighting for years, having in the past used tungsten hot-lights, multiple banks of speedlights, and occasionally some fluorescent lights. Color rendition with those was best with the multiple speedlight banks, but uniformity was hard to achieve.


These Genaray strip lights with their barn door modifiers have answered my quest. I have tested them on some difficult pieces of artwork, with a spectrophotometer, with reference cards, and with real artwork. The results so far are beautiful. The light is soft, confined to the artwork, smooth and uniform across the 4-to-5 foot dimension of the work, and color rendition has been spot on. The advertised color temperature and CRI index have tested correct.


I work in a very confined small studio, and although these lights are reasonably large, they fit in this space very well.


The engineering of the lights, the power supplies, and the mounting adapters provides a very flexible and simple setup. Controlling the intensity of the light is direct, simple, and in very precise steps.


The key requirement for copying artwork, besides the optical properties of the light, is the profile of the light fixture. A tall but narrow source is highly desirable, and these fit the bill.

[16.4' (5.0 m)] We bought 8 of these for our green screen cyc and really like them! The construction quality is on par with more expensive brands. The quality of the light is great and the barn doors have a solid build quality to them.


I like the quality of these lights so much, the even and clean dimming that I use them now to also record my podcast with, choosing this as a quick and easy alternative over our more expensive lite panels and Apetures we also have.
