The 1 RU Apantac MI-16+ 8x2 3G/HD/SD-SDI Multiviewer 16 Windowsfrom Apantac MI-16+ 8x2 3G/HD/SD-SDI Multiviewer 16 Windowshas 16 video inputs, 16 video passive loop outputs, and two video outputs. Each source can be only assigned to a single window. It supports an output resolution of 1920 x 1080p. This multiviewer also features two independent DVI/HDMI and SDI outputs, an Ethernet port, a Serial port, and AES and Analog audio monitoring outputs. It is powered using the included power cord. Two rack ears, four RJ50 to DB9 adapter cables for GPI, four DB9 breakout terminal blocks, an RJ45 to DB9 adapter cable for RS-232 interface, 16 terminators for passive loop outs, and an analog audio breakout cable are included.

Q: 1. Where can I buy the mounting plate...any sort of mounting option really?

A: Mounting plates come with the DECIMATOR DMON-QUAD 4-Channel 3G-SDI Multiviewer, when you purchase it. Mounting plates for Decimator products are unavailable separately at this time.

Q: 2. How do you input and configure tally into the unit? I don't seem to see a gpi unit anywhere so is it TSL?

A: The AVMATRIX 16-Channel 3G-SDI Multiviewer and Switcher (1 RU) does not have tally light support.

Q: 3. How does this SDI splitter operate without a power supply? It seems like all the other units like it require one.

A: According to Apantac, this passive splitter has minimal internal wiring, and draws power through the SDI connection.

Q: 4. Can this replace my MD-HX convert SDI camera input, flip image horizontally and output 1080 HDMI to Atem switcher?

A: The DECIMATOR DMON-QUAD 4-Channel 3G-SDI Multiviewer is a multi-viewer and cannot replace the Decimator MD-HX. They are very different tools.

Q: 5. Can I use this to show only 2 video sources in a 2 boxes layout without showing all 4 sources?

A: The Decimator DMON-Quad can be used to show any number of windows from 1-4 and the windows can be arranged in custom layouts to give you control over how they are positioned.

Q: 6. Are the outputs hard wired. Or is it possible to send a different resolution to the HDMI then to the HDSDI?

A: The Lilliput 3G-SDI Quad Split Multiviewer Up/Down offers Scaling & Frame Rate Conversion. This would allow you to input at one resolution and output in a different resolution and framerate. The HDMI port on this device is only for output. But you could work with an HDMI to SDI converter if you need to input HDMI signals. Q: 7. Can this do portrait (vertical) output?

A: The DECIMATOR DMON-16SL 16-Channel SDI Multiviewer with HDMI Output can not output a in a portrait (vertical) format.

Q: 8. I have three 23.98 camera inputs, two at 1080P and one at 1080PsF, will I be able to scale and HDMI output at 1080P 60?

A: You might want to contact the manufacturer directly. This product has a lot of features and allows many different frame rates and resolutions to display all at once or individually on screen

[16] This quad multiviewer is awesome. I love decimator design products. It has so much versatility. UMD, tally, audio monitoring. The only negative is it isn't easily manipulated to make a layout. The default layouts are decent but if you want to be able to change a layout design on the fly this isn't your guy. I still give it 5 stars. There is quite a lot of versatility in this little package. 5

[16] I purchased the front 3G-SDI cable of the Black Magic Design URSA mini to divide it into two. It worked well without any problems with the output without connecting the power. The quality of the product looks high. It was also small, so it was easy to fix it with double-sided tape on the cheese plate on the side of the camera. It's a really good product. 5

[11.9 lb] I have 2 Komodo cams and needed a way to feed them both into my Osee monitor and switch between them when needed. While this is definitely easier to use with the software it is also very functional in standalone mode. It does not take much time to wrap your head around using it without the software. It can feed out in multiple ways without any issues and cameras of different frame rates work with any problems. It is an excellent solution that does not get in the way on set. 5
