The white JBL Control 64P/T Pendant Speaker White Pairfrom JBL Control 64P/T Pendant Speaker White Pairis a pendant loudspeaker that provides full-range audio in a compact design well suited for retail, restaurants, hotels, casinos, fitness centers and more. It features a 4.0" full-range driver that delivers high-quality audio with a wide frequency response, ideal for music or speech applications. A full grille protects the drivers and offers a sleek look. The 8-Ohm speaker provides 120° of consistent conical coverage, offers a 100W (continuous) power handling capability, and is compatible with a variety of installation sound systems. The unit also has a 30W multi-tap transformer for professional installs. The Control 64P/T ships with two suspension cables systems, two 2-pin removable locking Euro-block connectors, and two rubber covers for Euro-block connectors.

Q: 1. What’s the difference between the 28-1L vs 28-1?

A: The JBL Control 28-1 High Output Indoor/Outdoor Background/Foreground Speaker (Pair, Black), B&H # JBCONTROL281 has a frequency crossover built in to the speaker. The JBL 281L does not have this feature. Otherwise these models are identical in size and wattage.

Q: 2. How do speakers connect? Wire leads or connectors?

A: These speakers have standard spring loaded PUSH TABS ( Insert wire through hole & Release TAB )

Q: 3. How do I wire the two speakers together--can I do it with standard speaker wire?

A: When purchased, the speakers come with the cable to connect the two speakers. The main speaker has a 1/4" speaker output, and the second speaker has bare wire clips.

A: This is a single bracket.

Q: 5. Are these IC-rated? Can this be installed in a drywall ceiling in contact with ceiling insulation?

A: Yes. These are in-ceiling rated for drywall. They may contact insulation as they are an integrated back-box design.

A: Yes it would be if the turntable offers a Line level output via RCA.

Q: 7. I'm impressed with JBL Control Contractor Series. I'm planning to have a set of speakers to build up a home theater from this series. However, I'm missing the center channel which I don't have any clue how to replace this position from control contractor series. Then, I'm going to the 2nd issue which is the subwoofer it's PASSIVE & it won't work with AV receiver. Control 19CS come in pair subwoofer, I thought may be subwoofer plate amplifier going to solve this issue but I'm sure. It seems that it won't going to work. Does any body have a suitable solution to my concern?

A: For the Center channel I would suggest to use the JBL Arena 55IW In-Wall Speaker. I have implemented a similar approach with my system and it works great. Regarding a subwoofer - I would suggest the JBL Arena Sub 100P 10 Powered Subwoofer also.

Q: 8. What type of wire does this system require?

A: These speakers require 2 conductor speaker wire.

Q: 9. is it 16 Ohms per pair or per one ?

A: It is 16 ohms per speaker.

Q: 10. I recently broke the bolt for the input terminal and part of the bolt is stuck in the speaker. What can I do?

[12 AWG / 2.5 mm] cant get enough of the jbl sound big, small, the jbl pro line is remarkable 5

[8 Ohms] I use these speakers in meeting rooms of various sizes and for several purposes such as lectures, symposia, music playback, and movies. They are installed in drop ceilings, which, of course, has its drawbacks, but the response and delivery of these speakers is outstanding. I wouldn't think of going with another choice except to upgrade to the 47c/t in rooms that can handle more bass. response. 5

[88 dB] Installed 4 pairs of this in an auditorium of 60ftx40ft. Easy to install, sound quality is great. The wattage tap settings on the front make it easily accessible and simplify refining volume levels of the system especially when mounted on ceiling Also, the System Design Software on jblpro website helped a lot in validating speaker placement. 5

[1] We placed these into service in our Social Hall as 4 pairs to provide sound coverage for 4000 sq feet and couldnt have asked for any more between the clarity and dispersion of sound.Installation was quick and instructions quite simple. 5

[88 dB] Great small format in-ceiling speakers. The sealed and ported enclosure protects them and provides a consistent bass response, unlike open back speakers. 70volt or 8ohm operation for a wide variety of commercial and residential applications. and... they sound good! 5

[8 Ohms] We use the product in a classroom environment with a projector whose sound is too low to hear. These speakers work great with the projector and our faculty members are beside themselves that their students can finally hear their presentations!!! 5

[88 dB] Bought a pair of these for my kitchen's ceiling,they sound great playing stereo music, work great with my home stereo receiver, I chose these because of the smaller diameter size compared to other ceiling speakers designed for home use,the back cans actually are a must since I don't want insulation to get stuck on the woofer cones (for those speakers without back cans),anyway I can always brag about these are commercial grade or contractors grade when my relatives stop by! 5

[Suspension] I had installers scheduled with no speakers on site (in-hand). I ordered from B&H and received product faster then I could have imagined, in fact delivered quicker then promised. Product installed quick and easy both in the drop ceiling as well as in the drywall locations. �The JBL's look great and sound even better. �B&H had the best prices but that was not as important to me as the availability and shipping. 5
