Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Do this have a notch for identifing the emulsion side?

A: Rollei Infrared 400 Black and White Negative Film (4 x 5", 25 Sheets) does have a notch for identifying the emulsion side.

Q: 2. What is the purpose/use for the end opposite of the one with the standard 5/8" spigot?

A: It can be used for some devices that use a 3/8 stud.

Q: 3. Hi, does this film require any focus shift to account for IR instead of visible light?

A: IR film requires a focus adjustment - that is, after focusing using visible light, the focus ring is turned the distance between the white and red focus line/dot on the focus scale, because the focal point changes slightly in IR. That said, because the film is large format, it's a bit more difficult to gauge with bellows focusing.

Q: 4. Does this come with a case?

A: No case, just all together in a box.

Q: 5. What are the specific filter that one should use with this film?

A: Hello, if you want the most pronounced infrared effect with this film, I'd use the Kodak Wratten 87, however this will mean shooting a a very slow ISO speed due to the filter factor. An all around easier filter to use would be Hoya R72, which allows a bit more of the visible light spectrum reach the film.Rollei's Infrared film is sensitive up to 820nm. The Kodak-Wratten Filter would block everything below 795nm, and the Hoya R72 block all light below 720nm.Using Kodak-Wratten 87: I'd meter for ISO 16-25. Infrared light can be unpredictable, so bracketing shots would be advisable. Hoya's R72 blocks a little less light, so I'd shoot at ISO 25-50.If you meter for ISO 400, add 4-5 stops, otherwise meter at the lower ISO values. Something that helped me get more familiar with my filters was to shoot a less expensive 120 roll, and record what each shot was exposed at. That way I made almost no mistakes on the more expensive 4x5.Hope that helps, ...good luck!

Q: 6. Does it clamp strongly enough to not swing around in a slight wind with a 48x72 reflector/diffuser?

A: The unit I received certainly clamps strong enough to prevent rotation, however, at 24 Sq. ft. of surface area on this sail , I imagine that even a slight breeze would create a concern of tipping despite sand bags

Q: 7. What is the diameter of the larger rod?

A: The diameter of the larger rod is 7/8" or 2.22 cm.

Q: 8. Can the reflector be tilted at an angle?

A: Yes it pivot

Q: 9. Is the rubber wrapped around the clamp?

A: Yes.

Q: 10. Will 4x5 IR film work in a pinhole camera?

A: The Rollei Infrared 400 Black and White Negative Film (4 x 5", 25 Sheets) can be used in a pinhole camera.

[2.1 lb (1 kg)] I upgraded from the illuminator provided with my scope , to the Supernova. As expected it gave me greater range. The unexpected bonus was the better duration of the battery. With the original, I had to change out batteries during a night's hunt. With this I have not. Finally, I own several ATN products and have found your technical support and customer service to be superb. Sign me a loyal and satisfied customer.

[472' (144 m)] This really lights up the target area. It was well worth the purchase price. Just realize that it's a large, heavy light.

The mount is cheaply made. I don't know who they have making it, but it doesn't have the ATN quality that I expected. I had to re-tap the screw holes just to get it mounted. The adjustments are a little awkward and with heavy recoil it tends to move.
