[3 white LEDs] I'm using the x33 at the default real resolution to convert 75 year-old 35mm Kodachrome slides to digital jpegs. Many of them are faded or damaged, but the x33 copies them accurately and quickly. I use Corel PhotoPaint and/or Nero AI to improve the ones most important to me, and the x33 seems to retain enough of the original detail for those programs to work just fine with its output. Give that, I think the x33 price is reasonable for the work I require of it.

[3 white LEDs] I was able to use this scanner with no problems. The instructions are useless. But common sense works great. This scanner did a good job on my film, was quick and is very easy to use. It was a good purchase.

[5 VDC] Being a stand-alone unit, no computer is needed until you post-process - crop, tweak, etc.

I think this overall design is old because it could only take a full-sized SD card, 2GB, anything larger isn't recognized. It did not recognize a 1-gig micro in the SD adapter. Fortunately I have a usable card. Also it used the old style USB-B mini plug (see image).

The max resolution is really good. Files are 5760 x 3840 pixels at 72dpi.

I was really surprised at how fast and efficient the imaging process is. Through the on-screen menu, select the film type and resolution. Put the strip of film in the carrier, slide it into the slot, the screen displays the image, the carrier slides through and clicks in place frame by frame (6 frames in the carrier). Press the button to capture, it's done. I did over 400 images in a little over a day. Some close up sample included in this review.

A couple of things I noticed, the image area is not the full 24 x 36mm. The scan is cropped around the perimeter of the neg. or slide. That may be a problem for some.

[3.5 lb] It's $35. the transfers look wildly better than what I had anticipated. If you can't make this work with a decent smart phone, then bless you, and good luck with the rest of your life.
If you want studio quality, then I guess you shouldn't even be considering this... but my old pics from the 80s and 90s look AWESOME with this.

[11 x 9.1 x 6.6"] I used the Kodak Mobile Film Scanner to scan my color negatives into my collection of pictures. I have the prints but laying them out on my MFD printer/scanner was tedious and hard to get the pictures lined up right. It was much easier, and less physical, and about four times faster to run my negatives through the Kodak Mobile Film Scanner.

The Kodak phone app is well thought out and works well with the little scanner box. The app provides several useful imaging tools to fine-tune the image once you've scanned it. But the image quality it produces is good to begin with. I found that all I used was the image cropping. I wouldn't call the user interface intuitively obvious, but it is easy to figure out.

I am very pleased with this purchase. It has made it much easier to get many more of my original film pictures onto my hard drive.

[2 lb / 890 g] The Braun Reflecta is a easy to use device, scans and copies slides to .jpg files quite rapidly. It's high resolution, allows for slide size adjustments, and frame adjustments, along with color adjustments to the photo itself.

Pro Tip: run a couple test slides through it first for practice, especially if you have a mix of paper and plastic frames. This will give you a better feel to adjust the slide sizes so they don't jam.

[3600 dpi] It holds 6-7 cards plus 4-5 notes. Easy to access any card you need while keeping the overall thickness very low. Like the design.
