The Datavideo TP-300 Prompter Kit can be used in either a theatre setting, or a video studio. Prepared scripts or cue sheets can be easily copied and pasted into the DV prompter app software (available for iOS and Android devices) and scrolled at a set automatic rate or controlled by a user with a wired/wireless remote (sold separately) for a more natural result. A number of clear fonts, colors, and text sizes are available making reading comfortable from a variety of distances. With a new mounting system, the TP-300 can be quickly and easily adapted to hold a variety of tablet devices.

Q: 1. I see that an Apple VGA connector shows up in Accesories . Is this necessary for this teleprompter?

A: No a VGA connector is not necessary.

Q: 2. Will this prompter accommodate a JVC GY-HD-750 camcorder mounted?

A: Probably not. It's really designed for DSLRs. The reach from the mounting plate to the mirror is, therefore, likely not long enough to accommodate your JVC.

Q: 3. Could this be used with a Sony Handycam HDR Sony PXW-X200 XDCAM?

A: Yes it could be. This Prompter has a base plate that accepts Camcorders and DSLRs. You should be able to attach a camcorder like the PXW-X200 to this unit.

Q: 4. My camera lens is 72mm. Will this teleprompter fit ok?

A: yes

Q: 5. Does tablet size affect screen resolution? i.e., will a 9 tablet be better than a 7 ?

A: I just used the TP-300B today (and I've used it with numerous other people before). I use a 7-inch Nexus, which I purchased from B&H, and it works perfectly. I've never had complaints from performers about not being able to read the text. The free DV Prompter app allows the text size and color to be changed. I just use the default. My 7-inch Nexus has wonderful resolution. A larger screen would allow larger text to be used without decreasing the amount of text on screen to the same extent. This could be useful in cases where the performer might have to be very far from the camera. I would recommend downloading the free DV Prompter App and see how the text looks to you from the distance your talent will be reading from. Note that the scrolling speed can also be changed. I recommend using a fast speed and letting the talent use the remote control to pause the scrolling. Advise them to not hold down the pause button, or the blutooth link will be shut off. Also, I discourage the use of the speed and skip buttons on the remote, because they make loud clicks that will be picked up on mic.

Q: 6. Does this come with a tripod?

A: No, a tripod is not included with the Datavideo TP-900 Presentation Prompter Kit for PTZ Cameras (BH #DATP900).

Q: 7. Does this prompter come with a traveling case?

A: It is packet in a box that I find convenient for traveling.

Q: 8. Does Remote Control work with Android tablets? I have a 9 and 10 inch tablet with Android 3.0 and Bluetooth 3.0 and I want to know if the remote control worked with what applications on the tablet.

A: You need to install the DV Prompter app on your tablet. Simply pair the bluetooth remote to your tablet in the bluetooth settings.

A: Yes, this teleprompter works with the all mid-size cameras and camcorders.

Q: 10. Could this be used with a small camcorder? I have a Sony Handycam HDR XR550V.

A: Yes. that will work fine.

[9' / 3 m] Easy to assemble, solid build quality, easy to lock-down tablet device. The glass shipped a little smudgy but microfiber took care of that. The Datavideo Prompter App dv prompter isn't worth using. Overall good build quality and simple to use. The Bluetooth remote that comes with the prompter is a cheap wireless mouse that cannot control speed or resume a prompt after pausing it; just about worthless. I contacted Datavideo and was told it would cost for $125 for a wired remote and $150 for a wireless remote with no support for any other bluetooth device. I found a BETTER app called Remote Prompter for android that supports any Bluetooth keyboard with the following functions: Increase/Decrease scroll speed, increase/decrease font size, pause and resume on the fly. So simple to use I have a $15 Bluetooth remote paired with a Nexus 7. A 7 tablet is sufficient size, a 10 tablet would fill it out and possibly be too large. 5

[9' / 3 m] I got this guy to help with video updates for the radio station I work at. Very easy to to set up. Instructions were clear enough. Once it was set up the app worked beautifully. I threw it on a cheap tablet and haven't had an issue. It works better than I thought it would for sure! 5

[9' / 3 m] We use this at my company for recording short video messages for our clients. It's taken our videos to the next level. Make sure you get a telepromter app that accepts the remote that comes with this telepromter. The app I bought didn't and I ended up having to use a wireless keyboard. 5

[6.3 lb] The TP300 is great. It is compact and very functional. I have used it on location with corporate and commercial clients and they have all been impressed. The software works great as well. I am using it with a BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet and making edits on the fly and controlling the prompter with the supplied bluetooth mouse couldn't be easier. One of the best equipment investments I've ever made. 5

[6.3 lb] I bought this a few weeks ago, and used it on a shoot a week later. It worked very well, and seems well built. The Teleprompter software and remote also worked well. I used it with my Motorola Xoom android tablet. No complaints here, and theclient was very happy with its readibility. 5
