It comes outfitted with their manual alt-az Tele-Pod head, which is configured as a dual-fork yoke mount that cradles your optical tube assembly (OTA) at its center of balance for smooth pan/tilt motion with greatly reduced vibrations.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Tube dimension ??

A: The Explore Scientific FirstLight 130mm f/4.6 Alt-Az Newtonian Telescope BH #EXFLN130NT • MFR #FL-N130600MAZ01 (OTA) is about 24" X 6"

Q: 2. Can I use it with a mount to connect my Sony a7Rii?

A: Yes, it would be possible to connect that camera to this telescope. However, this telescope is not a great choice to use a 3 thousand dollar camera with. But technically, yes, you could connect this using item 93625 and you would also need a Sony T-Ring. Celestron only offers T-Rings for Canon and Nikon currently.

Q: 3. Which Barlow lenses would you recommend for this scope?

A: I would recommend this Celestron Omni 2x Barlow Lens: https://bhpho.to/2ZeywLX

Q: 4. Is there a computerized tripod for the Explore Scientific Firstlight 130mm f/4.6 Alt-Az Newtonian Telescope?

A: The Explore Scientific FirstLight 130mm f/4.6 comes with the manual Twilight I Alt-Azimuth Mount. You could replace the manual mount with this computerized Explore Scientific iEXOS-100-2 PMC-Eight Equatorial Go-To Tracker System: https://bhpho.to/3qouVtc

Q: 5. what's the mount size?

A: There is no mounting socket at the bottom of the base to mount it on any tripod.

Q: 6. what does erect image viewing mean?

A: When you look at the moon through a straight telescope (refactor) the moon will be upside down in the eyepiece. When you take a picture with a digital camera the image will be projected on to the senor upside down, the camera's software will transpose it correctly on the LCD screen. A erecting prism on a telescope or binocular does the same thing.

Q: 7. As a beginner, are there any essential accessories I should consider?

A: This is a kit which includes the most essential accessory required, a tripod. You really would not need anything else to get up and running.

Q: 8. Cuanto cuesta este telescopio con envio incluido a Lagos De Moreno, Mxico y que tal se ve jupiter y sus lunas?

A: For the most up-to-date dealer information, try using the dealer locator on our website. You can find it here: https://www.celestron.com/apps/store-locator/ Under ideal seeing conditions, the AstroMaster 70AZ will reveal Jupiter and its four brightest moons.

Q: 9. Hi I brought my daughter the telescope and have no idea how to set it up or even how to use it. The lady at the store said just look through the finder and that’s it. Well that’s not the case cause we can’t see anything and don’t know what we are doing. Can you help please?

A: Please contact our experts in Celestron's Technical Support department. Our representatives will be happy to answer any questions you may have, including how to get your new telescope set up properly. The best way to reach them is to submit a ticket here: https://www.celestron.com/pages/technical-support

Q: 10. Is chromatic aberration is a big problem for this Telescope?

A: The Inspire 100AZ telescope is an achromatic refractor design, so there will be a degree of chromatic aberration, but the views are highly acceptable.

[2] I bought this telescope mount for my husband's birthday. He had previously purchased a high-priced camera tripod head that didn't adequately support his Televue 85. The Tele-Pod exceeded his expectations. It is beautifully made, pans fluidly and completely balances the telescope. Highly recommend!

[2] I got this to mount a TV-76 on a Feisol CT-3442 carbon fiber tripod. The Tele-Pod head is nicely machined and high quality. It comes with the 'lever' that can mount on either side and I find useful. I do not use a center post and the whole setup is quite stable up to 137x which is as high as I go. (I imagine it will work well beyond that figure.) This is a very lightweight grab-n-go rig and the tele-pod mount makes it simple and easy to slew about. I leave it 'ready to roll' and can step out on a cold morning to catch a glimpse of the currently crescent Venus, then retreat for coffee with no ado.

[-17 to 85°] Telescope is nice and light and very easy to set up. Even with suburban light pollution, I've been able to see amazing detail of the moon and even able to see Jupiter. Still struggling to get good photos, but that's more my phone than the attachment.
