The Photogenic PowerLight DR-UV Monolight Kitoffers speed, power and control, a wide choice of accessories and intuitive operation backed by impressive specs at a very reasonable price.

What good is a light if it keeps you in the dark? The 1250DRC keeps you fully informed of your power levels via its large highly readable digital display. Power settings are adjustable in 1/10 or ½ stop increments across 6 stops. The bright 250W modeling light can be set to Proportional to let you previsualize your final shot when using multiple lights. Other settings include Full On, OFF and manual control of the modeling light output.

The PL1250DRC recycles to full power in a lightning-fast 1.5 seconds with short flash durations that help you stop every gesture, an attribute which is extremely valuable when working with kinetic subjects like dancers or athletes. The color corrected flash tube prevents blue hues from creeping into the color balance on subjects like a bride in her wedding dress. The tube also insures a flattering skin tone rendition.

Convenience features include a test button, optical slave and integral handle.

The PL1250DRC comes with a 7.5" reflector and is compatible with a wide range of optional accessories including grids, snoots, parabolic reflectors, softboxes and umbrellas.

Power settings Power levels are displayed in easy-to-read LED digits allowing settings from 16W/s to 500W/s in 1/10 or 1/2 stop increments

The PL1250DRC recycles to full power in only 1.5 seconds to catch even the most fleeting gesturers

The PL1250DRC's bright 250W quartz modeling lamp offers independent power control that is adjustable from full to 1/32 power in 1/10 or 1/2 stop increments. Settings include Proportional, to previsualize lighting effects, Manual adjustment or Full On or Off

Digital cameras can be used with Photogenic PowerLights without fear of damage to the camera's electronics

This version of the PL1250DR has a built-in, highly sensitive, switchable optical slave for synchronization with other flashes

No tools are required to replace this "plug & play" flashtube

Dims the modeling light while charging the capacitors. When the capacitors are at 100%, the modeling lamp re-lights

The color corrected flash tube filters out blue hues that result from UV emission for a cleaner look with flattering flesh tones.

When reducing the power output, excess flash power in the capacitors is released before exposure to insure consistent performance

A low noise, high performance fan keeps the flash head's electronics cool while lengthening the flash tube's and the modeling light's lives

The PL1250DRC incorporates surge protection to handle power spikes and internal thermal protection which monitors heat generated during intense use

The PL1250DRC is compatible with all Photogenic Quick-Change light shaping accessories

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this light set up need a batter power supply for each light when electricity is not available?

A: When an AC outlet is not available, you may use the Photogenic Ion Lithium-ion Pure Sine Wave Inverter System, BH #PHION to power these two Photogenic PL1250C monolights. https://bhpho.to/2JopUtR

Q: 2. Does this kit come with Speed Rings? If not which brand is compatible and recommended? What is the approximate cost for the speed rings.

A: The kit comes with two soft-boxes and each one comes with a speedring.

Q: 3. Will this lightning it be compatible with my Canon 6D Mark II? If not, will I need to order wireless transmitters for the flash?

A: The Photogenic Matrix MCD400R 400Ws Monolight 3-Light Kit includes an integrated 16-channel receiver in each monolight. The kit comes with a 16-channel remote transmitter which is compatible with your Canon 6D Mark II. Please note that this is a manual flash kit, and therefore does not have TTL functionality.

Q: 4. What is the T1 and T5 flash duration?

A: The manufacture lists that the Photogenic Matrix MCD400R has a flash duration of 1/250th ~ 1/600th. And they do not list any other.

Q: 5. does this use bowens mount or photogenic style mount?

A: The system offers a bowens mounting system.

Q: 6. Whether the flash duration at max. power and min. power indicates t0.5 and t0.1?

A: As per the manufacturer, the minimum and maximum flash duration for this monolight is based on t0.5.

Q: 7. How do i maintain the capacitor in a power light?

A: No maintenance needed! Each time you power down the light the capacitor unloads by popping the tube. The Powerlights are maintenance free, just use them, and use them, and use them.

Q: 8. will this flash capture motion at 1/1600 of a second ?

A: This BH #PH2500DRUV shortest flash duration is 1/770th of a second.

Q: 9. Can flash duration be adjusted?

A: Not directly, no. But for most flash units the brightness of the flash over a set amount of time doesn't change. What does change is the length of the light burst. So shooting at full power uses the longest burst, and at half power it will be half as long. I don't have the manuals in front of me (but they are online at the Photogenic website). I'm pretty sure they give the length of flash durations at various settings.... or at least an estimate.

Q: 10. I have this light in my studio but i need to take it on a remote shoot with no electricity available. Should i get a little gas generator for power or is there a battery power supply i can buy? I have a large budget.

A: Yes, Photogenic makes a battery pack, click the link below to view; https://bhpho.to/3i9xGIm

[1x Reflector] I love these lights! they have taken my studio photography to the next level. The fact that I can control the power with such precision makes it so much easy to produce the finished product I am looking for. To add, the build in Pocket Wizards makes my life leaps and bounds easier not having to deal with the issue of having to hook up external Pocket Wizards and worry about banging them around as I re position lights while I'm shooting. It is just an all around great package! They could be a little cheaper but lets be honest, we wish everything is cheaper and I know that you get what you pay for so I think the quality that I got fits the price.
