Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with a Cannon Rebel T7i?

A: Hello. The mic would only come through in the left channel since you'd be plugging a MONO mic into a STEREO input. To have this wire direct into the camera, your best option would be to get a 3.5mm mono to mono cable extension and a 3.5mm mono to stereo adapter.

Q: 2. will it work with a zoom?

A: The EX-503 will be compatible with devices that have a 3.5mm mic input jack and are able to supply plug in power to the mic. This includes the Zoom H1, H2 and H4N recorders.

Q: 3. Is this compatible with SONY WRT820A transmitter?

A: We would not recommend using a microphone that does not specifically say that it is wired for Sony mics. Sony has their own proprietary pin configuration. This mic, however is wired for a Sony 4-pin hirose transmitter. B&H # SOECM44BC.

Q: 4. Does this work with the DJI Mic?

A: Yes, the DJI offers 3.5mm jacks which the mic will adapt to.

Q: 5. Is Azden EX-503H compatible with SONY WRT820A transmitter?

A: This mic is not compatible with the Sony WRT820A. You would need a mic with a twist-on 4-pin connector that is wired for Sony, such as the Countryman B3 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone (Black), B&H # COB3SOBRS.

Q: 6. Bought this for the Rode wireless Go, and it doesn’t seem to work. Non compatible or faulty lav you think?

A: The EX-507XD is not compatible with the the Wireless Go, which uses a standard TRS 3.5mm input. The EX-507XD has a TRRS 3.5mm plug which works with the Azden PRO-XD and with smartphone headphone inputs. A lavalier mic of ours that is compatible would be the EX-503.

Q: 7. What is the head diameter of the microphone?

A: I don't have it with me but - with the foam buffer its around 15-18mm without 8-10mm

Q: 8. Can this be plugged into a Sennheiser transmitter? The Sennheiser has a three contact 1/8inch connector, this has only two contacts. Anyone do this already? Thanks!

A: I can't really comment on Sennheiser's equipment, however, if the transmitter has a 3 contact mini-jack, it could be for a balanced connection. If this is the case, it is possible that the 2 contact plug on the EX-503L would work, it just would not be balanced.

Q: 9. Will it come with foam and clip or i have to buy it extra??

A: I have three of these. It comes with the foam and clip.

Q: 10. I may have missed it, but I can't seem to find the length of the wire - how long is the wire? Bonus question - what would be a good extension if I needed to extend the wire?

A: The cable length is about 4 feet. I don't have a specific extension to recommend, but you'll want to look for a mono audio cable that is 3.5mm TS female to 3.5mm TS male.

[Black] I have been using these microphones for over 20 years in my wedding videography business. They are dependable and durable which is important in this business. There are higher priced alternatives, which I have tried and for the cost difference, 99% of my clients would never know the difference. So I buy these and the money saved allows me to buy other gear. Don't let the low price fool you, these in my opinion are just fine for my market and use.

[Omnidirectional] I use this microphone to mic the groom at weddings. I run it into a Tascam DR-03. It works great!

[Omnidirectional] I had to replace the lav microphone for an Azden WR-PRO wireless mic pack (not the microphone's fault... it literally was trampled by the talent...). I tried some quick replacements while this was in the mail, but I was glad when the package showed up since nothing could match the sound of the original. It has great pick-up while also ignoring a lot of background noise, such as a busy highway or a crowded convention hall. If you have an Azden pack, BE SURE TO GET THIS MIC. If you get an electrocet mic that is powered by a battery, you get a bad buzz in the audio line. The only con I have seen is that the tie-clip included is a bit flimsy, doesn't really grip well and is easy to lose.

[Omnidirectional] Guys, seriously, go with this microphone. It gives great semi-professional sound, and it's a great price! What I did is I bought a Sony voice recorder and I use this mic plugged into the mic jack of the voice recorder to sync up to my video interviews later...I get great results! I also use a Rode mic ontop of my DSLR for more depth to my interview sound and as backup sound, but I do love this little mic! Highly recommend!

[Plug-In Power] I use this as a clip on mic for interviews and wedding video. It works especially well for weddings to capture the vows and go along with the video. I was impressed with how clear the sound was and the noise cancelling was great. The only draw back is that it records in 1 channel mono as opposed to 2 channel stereo. Its very hard to notice unless you are wearing headphones however.

[Black] This does just what it says - a better, fuller sounding mic. Easy

[Omnidirectional] Much better sound than the original lav mic. If I buy another ProXD I will buy another one of these with it. Highly recommended!
