The FBV 3 facilitates the hands-free operation of any compatible Line 6 amplifier or POD, giving you 13 footswitches and one expression pedal for this express purpose. The footswitches—which have been constructed from steel to ensure durability—offer different ways of controlling your apposite Line 6 device.

Two footswitches allow you to cycle through pre-programmed user banks with the tap of your toe, while four switches allow you to select among four channels within any selected bank; with these controls, you can easily change timbres for different parts of your song/arrangement. Furthermore, four user-assignable footswitches are also provided, which can be set to toggle various parameters of any effect called up by the FBV 3. A function and tap-tempo switch round out the panoply of footswitches, the former allowing you to enter Live Edit mode, the latter providing tap-tempo over delay and modulation effects. The tap button also triggers an onboard chromatic tuner and facilitates the exiting of menus in Live Edit mode.

In addition to the switches, the FBV 3 also includes an expression pedal for wah or volume control. A second 1/4" input can be paired with another expression pedal. This jack is specifically useful when used with the Line 6 EX-1, available separately. An LED screen displays a readout of your current preset and bank; it also serves as your interface whenever your tune your instrument. Multi-color LEDs on five of the footswitches coordinate with selected presets to help you keep track of all active timbres and effects.

The pedal draws both power and connection from connection to your POD/amp, doing so via the FBV 3's CAT-5 cable. Using the USB jack, you can control compatible software on any Mac or Windows computer, back up/store presets, and load sounds off your computer to boot. For a list of Line 6 devices which work with the FBV 3, please look to the Features section below.

[25.0' / 7.6 m] Works as advertised! It's responsive and easy to use. My only minor complaint is the flashing blue light which can be a little annoying in a dark venue
But, I realize there has to be some way to know that it's on

[25.0' / 7.6 m] What can I say about decksaver products? They don't make them for everything (YET!) Awesome products. Exactly what I needed to protect my controller from dust, while adding an elegant look to my setup. Very much worth every penny. Also, in most cases when you think they don't have one for your product, they usually do. You can also go their website and drop them a line or two about what you need and they will probably add it to their product line at some point.

[25.0' / 7.6 m] Full disclosure, these are my first audio monitor speakers so I have no direct comparison. That said, I do usually use my home theater audio to check final products and edit with Beyerdynamic DT700 ProX headphones so I feel like I know good sound when I hear it. The difference in using my iMac audio for reference when editing vs these is night and day. I can't believe I waited so long to invest in proper audio monitor speakers. I think the most notable thing about these is how full they sound. They are not large speakers but they provide sound that seems to come from inside my brain. great balance between lows and highs. the bass is definitely defined without being muddy or drowning out mids. trebles are equally clear and easy to notice without any harshness. The only negative aspect with these is the subtle hiss they emit when turned on. I'm told this is normal and it's just what you get at this price point for powered audio monitors. After only two weeks I'm getting used to it and I turn off the speakers when not in use. When using them actively, the hiss is too quiet to hear and doesn't interfere with my work, but it's worth knowing.

[25.0' / 7.6 m] My husband played a real piano & keyboards he was younger but hasn't played for years. He wanted to start again and debated between the KeyLab 88 MKII and a more traditional stand alone piano-type keyboard. He's so happy we went this route.

He uses it with Logic Pro and feels the KeyLab offers the perfect amount of features without adding unnecessary things. He hasn't yet figured it all out, but it's great to sit down and play freely or to record using the software and create a song.

The build is excellent, with a metal body and wood accents. The action of the key bed is excellent and is much closer to a real piano than non-weighted keys. The additional weight of the keys makes playing at different volume levels very easy.

One complain that he had was the lack of documentation on how to set it up and integrate it with different DAWs, but Arturia's tech support is top notch and quickly replied with a long and detailed emailing showing step by step directions on how to set it up with Logic Pro. Plus, their website has a great FAQ section and detailed user manuals that cover how to use most of the keyboard's features.

In addition to a great keyboard, the unit comes with some wonderful software. It includes Ableton Live Lite for those who don't already have a DAW. It also comes with Piano V/V2, which is a piano software add-on worth $249 by itself and Analog Lab, which is a collection of older (from the 80s I think), classic synthesizer sounds worth $199.

So, the keyboard itself is a great item for the price, but when all the additional software is included, the KeyLab 88 MkII is a wonderful item.

[11.5 lb] I bought this so I could hit record/play/stop in my DAW easily while playing guitar/drums.

Once I got the drivers installed it works flawlessly. It has the added benefit of moving up or down in the track list which is nice for some limited hands-free DAW operation. It also has tons of presets I've never used which probably add useful features but I haven't bothered with all that yet.

Build quality is most excellent. Top notch. Solid metal with plastic buttons roughly identical to the Boss multi-effects pedals. Having said that, I am nervous about accidentally stepping on that jog wheel.

5 stars since I can't think of any reason to deduct points for anything.

[25.0' / 7.6 m] I had the Keylab61 MKII, but needed the hammer-action keys for orchestral arrangments, and just because I like the feel of a real piano. I read reviews that said the action is heavy, it is, but not in a bad way. Most real pianos I have played have a heavier action so maybe I am used to it.

Connectivity: Yeah, it's amazing with Cubase. I found a script online and I was off to the races. I open up the MIDI control center and adjust some user defined MIDI CC presets for a lot of my orchestral VST's, and easy peasy.

Build Quality: The Komplete Kontrol everyone hems and haws about is plastic and more expensive, it also doesn't integrate as well as they would like you to believe. This thing is metal, and beautiful with wood accents. No, you don't get a big LCD screen, like I need another screen, I have two 32 screens already.

Bottom line, if you want something that you can feel expressive on, has all the MIDI sliders and knobs you need to fiddle about, or make your orchestral arrangements sound more realistic, this is it. I love my Arturia. They are like teenage engineering but affordable.
