Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. how can this cable be compatible with both sony uwp-d and Sennheiser ew500? I own both so this would be aa good solution. Please explain.

A: The 1/8'' connector would screw into the receiver on your wireless system.

Q: 2. What's the cold shoe adapter in the picture that's holding the Sennheiser AVX-ME2 in place? Seems like a useful piece for making this cable adapter work well.

A: Yes the shoe mount adapter included in the AVX system can be used to mount the receiver for the AVX system to a shoe piece on the Canon C70 and you can use the adapter BH #CATAX3FC7001 to connect it to the mic input on the Canon C70 camera.

Q: 3. Is this cable compatible with Sony UWP-D receiver? They have a different wiring inside than Sennheiser g3) but the connector is the same.

A: Yes the Cable Techniques Mini TRS to XLR Male Low-Profile Wireless Output Cable (18") is compatible with Sony UWP receivers.

Q: 4. Will this work with a Movo WMIC80 Receiver?

A: Yes, the Cable Techniques Mini TRS to XLR Male Low-Profile Wireless Output Cable can be used with the Movo Photo WMIC80 Wireless Lavalier Microphone System since the receiver uses a 3.5mm TRS male locking connector.

Q: 5. Are these compatible with the FS7? I.e. Does the male end rotate to a position where it can access the camera's awkwardly placed XLRs?

A: While we have not tested this configuration specifically, there is a good chance that the Cable Techniques Low-Profile, 3-Pin XLR Female to 3-Pin XLR Male Adjustable-Angle Cable can be adjusted to fit into the build of the Sony FS7 camera's XLR audio inputs, given its ability to adjust the cable outlet from 30 to 150°.

Q: 6. The picture of the 8”black cable has two right angle ends, but the title says “straight” - which is it? Thanks

A: The connectors are angled and the cable is straight.

Q: 7. is the head type/angle adjustable on these cables? I'm looking for a 3 o'clock head on the male and a 12 o'clock head on the female.

A: It does not appear that the connector orientation on the Cable Techniques 10'Low-Profile Right-Angle XLR-3F to XLR-3M Mic/Patch Cable (Black Caps)Mogami W2549 Cable is adjustable. The XLR connectors used appear to be one solid component without the ability to unscrew and reorient.

Q: 8. will this cable work AND supply phantom power to a Shure VP88 stereo mic?

A: Yes, this Cable Techniques Y-cable will work with the Shure VP88. In order to power the mic, each of the 3-pin XLR connectors must be connected to a phantom power

Q: 9. Can these cables handle 48v phantom power? I want this cables because of their low profile look, and use them into a regular home studio setup (Podcasting, and vocals recording), but I dont know if there's a con with that, might over heating.

A: This cable handles Phantom power 48v, I've used them in the past to provide a shotgun mic with 48v from a camcorder and had no issues.

Q: 10. Since these cables are not Shielded, are there known issues with EMI and RFI Noise with them?

A: The cabling used to assemble the Cable Techniques Low-Profile, 3-Pin XLR Female to 3-Pin XLR Male Adjustable-Angle Cable typically implements either a lap or braided shield and does not have any known issues with EMI or RF noise.

[0.2 lb] As long as you know soldering, this is a good buy.. My recorder setup became much smaller now, thanks to the low profile connectors..

[0.2 lb] This cable is great quality and built very well. It’s perfect for a shotgun mic attached to a camcorder or cinema camera with xlr inputs close to the mount. The coil makes it very easy to keep your set up neat and functional. Yes to this short pro grade cable!

[0.2 lb] Bought for my Sony FS7 and on-camera mic. There's a lot of stuff that can go on a camera and cables always get in the way. Previous to this I had a cable that (even though very short) was always getting in the way. The length, along with the coiled design makes it absolutely spot-on for my needs. If you have any sort of camcorder/pro camera that requires an XLR cable, get this one - you will love it!

[0.1" (2.8 mm)] Most 4 pin XLR plugs are much to big and stick out too far. This one is low profile and doesn't stick out much. (Switchcraft make a 3pin XLR plug that is even shorter but not in 4pin.)
Overall the item is great and works well for me.

[9" (23 cm)] This takes the MERGED (not dual -- to the best of my knowledge) output from the RODE Wireless Go 2 and sends it to a single XLR male. Works as advertised.

I would love to find a splitter that would take the two outputs from the RODE and send them to two separate XLR male connectors...

Highly recommended.

[0.2 lb] These work great. Stupid me, I mistaken it to be feet instead of inches, but still made good use of them. The low profile design is probably one of the best I've used. I will definitely be buying more or other cables.

[0.2 lb] Used this on a few jobs and it's been great for an on-camera mic, on my c500 mkII. It's a solid build, both ends connect and disconnect well. Sound is flawless.

The coil is a little bit tight/stretched when connecting it to the rear XLR inputs on the c500 (with the Canon handle and mic mount). But it still leaves plenty of stretch and doesn't stress the cable.
