This 30-pack of 4 x 6" Hahnemuhle FineArt Baryta Photo Cards 4x6 30 Packwith rounded corners from Hahnemuhle FineArt Baryta Photo Cards 4x6 30 Packcomes packaged in a tin box with an embossed Hahnemuhle rooster logo for protecting your prints and for use as a portable portfolio or archive. The paper has a 100% alpha cellulose base with a baryta (barium sulphate) coating that is reminiscent of traditional darkroom papers. This coating also works with the microporous ink-receiving layer for exceptional image sharpness with a wide color gamut and high Dmax. This makes the heavy 325 gsm paper well-suited for black & white imaging as well as color photography and fine art reproduction.

The paper itself benefits from the heft of a 16.1 mil thickness, an opacity of 98%, and a whiteness rated at 103%. This high whiteness is achieved through a moderate use of optical brightening agents. The paper is also acid-free and calcium carbonate buffered for further longevity and is easy to handle thanks to its instant drying and very high water resistance. Additionally, it has a high gloss surface finish.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. This looks intriguing. Is it special purpose paper? One review mentions an adhesive. What are the prints meant to be attached to? Thanks.

A: It's the same as the full sized paper sheets or rolls. The only thing is due to the thickness of this paper & small size,, you might have to manual feed it in the larger printers (those that take up to 13x19 & above). Being so the manual feed won't recognize the 4x6 therefore you need to mount iton a larger paper. Please note this paper wont fit into the small all in one photo printers due to its thickness.

Q: 2. How good is this paper for bring out the colors of birds, such as humming birds/ Tucans and flowers such as Iris/Dalhias?

A: The Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Metallic Paper is an excellent paper for bright color photos.

Q: 3. Does the paper have a pearl finish?

A: This paper is a FineArt pearl.

Q: 4. Do they work with an inkjet printer?

A: Yes, this paper would work with an Inkjet printer

Q: 5. With the rounded edges with this paper, can I print borderless, without seeing the rounded edges using my Epson HD-15000 photo ?

A: The Hahnemuhle FineArt Pearl FineArt Photo Cards (4 x 6", 30 Cards), BH #HAFP46285, is not compatible with borderless printing. For borderless printing, the paper has to be rectangular shaped.

Q: 6. I have a Canon Pro 10 and would naturally like to know how well this paper works with pigments?

A: You should have no problems with this paper on your Cannon Pro 10. It's now my preferred paper for enlarged prints for framing, using my Epson Stylus Pro 4800. Moab discontinued their Colorado Satine paper, and this paper proved to be the closes match with the Hahnemuhle being a little thicker @ 300 gsm. Being a Baryta paper, it still retains a very clean white base compared to other brands that I tested with 8.5X11 sheets. Compared to the Moab, side by side, it has just a very slight Baryta (warm tone) tint. Moab's Juniper Baryta Rag (305 gsm) is their new paper that replaced the Colorado, didn't cut it. It's to warm and has a sheen and texture that not normal for a Semi Gloss/Satine surface. Long story short, setup the paper profile, color calibrate your monitor, and test before printing larger sizes. You'll like this paper.

Q: 7. what printer do you recommend for this paper?

A: A high quality inkjet photo printer i.e. Epson P700/900 & above, Canon Pro 10/100/1000/300 & above.

Q: 8. Does this roll paper have much 'curl' to it? Some of the heavier papers are almost unusable when I get near the end of the roll (Epson 4880). Thanks.

A: Yes, the Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta Satin Paper (17" x 39' Roll) BH #HAFABS31017 has "curl".

Q: 9. Can these photo cards be sent as postcards through the mail?

A: Yes, the Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta FineArt Photo Cards (4 x 6", 30 Cards) BH #HAFAB4630 can be sent as postcards through the mail.

Q: 10. A question for those who printed on this paper: what images did you find were most suited to it? If there's a way to post an image that would be great.

A: It is best for photos with metallic elements, high contrast, reflections, or other striking visual elements. Unfortunately they do not offer this in one of their sampler packs currently.

[98%] It's been quite a while since I've done any serious or semi-serious printing. News of this product's availability came just at the right time for me. A colleague was retiring due to medical issues and I was looking for a gift idea. Using the profiles from the company website and printing from LR, I was able to make some very nice prints on an Epson 1430. The contents are packed very well and protected by layers of cardboard and a vey nice piece of metallic type tissue is laid on top of the first sheet along with a business card describing the paper. The tins are well made but do ding easily so be gentle with them.

[High gloss] I have purchased both the 4x6, and the 5.8x6.3 photo cards. Great paper, the tins are very useful for storage. The prints come out beautifully, I am using an Epson ET-8550.

[Yes] I print and send loads of postcards. Your basic 4x6 print. When I want to keep a set around for myself, I use these Hahnemühle cards. They just seem a bit more refined and special. I'll admit, I don't send these out, but I have been known to give an entire box as a gift. People love them.
