The white AC115S 15" High-Power Subwoofer System from JBL comes with one 15" low frequency driver in a vented, front-loaded configuration for extended bandwidth. The rectangular cabinet is fitted with M10 threaded suspension points for flexibility. The subwoofer features one 15" driver with 3" voice coil. In addition, the subwoofer comes in a 3/4" multi-ply hardwood plywood enclosure.

A: The JBL Control 28-1 High Output Indoor/Outdoor Background/Foreground Speaker (Pair, Black), B&H # JBCONTROL281 has a frequency crossover built in to the speaker. The JBL 281L does not have this feature. Otherwise these models are identical in size and wattage.

A: The JBL SRX918S 18" Powered Subwoofer is a self powered live sound subwoofer and cannot be fly-able for array deployment. The JBL VRX918S 18" High-Powered Flying Subwoofer is a passive subwoofer, a separate amplifier is required to power it and it can be suspended from an array .

A: No, brackets are not included with the sub. The JBL VRX-AR-II Array Frame (B&H # JBVRXAFII) is the optional suspension frame for the VRX918SP. The system includes the center frame, two side arms, four quick-release pins, two drop levers, and a pair of 3/8" shackles.

[95 dB] I am powering the JBL 3181F with a Crown XLS1002 bridged at 4 ohms. While it doesn't get (or much) below 30hz, I never hear this subwoofer distort or bottom out. Its impact is thunderous and devastating. It took my home theater from amateur level bass to cinematic level bass. Best investment I've made so far in my home theater journey. Why try to replicate theater sound when you can purchase speakers made for it? 5

[Plywood] I bought this subwoofer to enhance my current JBL 305P MkII speakers. The sound produced is sweet. Deep, round bass and powerful to boot. Quite satisfied with my purchase at sale price. 5

[128 dB (Peak)] I bought this subwoofer from B&H on sale for $300 when originally its $500. I did research on it and when I used it, it works exactly as advertised. I am satisfied with this product and the way B&H works. No issue at all and use this subwoofer in all my sessions from recording vocals to making beats. 5

[Plywood] It took me a few minutes to dial in the JBL, but once I figured that out it sounds smooth and complimented my setup perfectly. I'm not sure why anyone in a studio setting would want to use anything but the 80hz crossover. It had PLENTY of power, in fact, it's set to about 40 percent power to balance out with my studio monitors. Folks that say it doesn't have enough power need to turn down the gain of their monitors. The whole idea of a studio sub is not to blow you away (which this can certainly do) but rather to compliment (extend the frequency range of) the monitors. It does this very well. If you don't use this balance, your mixes will not be accurate may result in them being low-frequency deprived. I can easily switch between sub + crossovered monitors to monitors with no crossover with my Mackie 1642VLZ4 mixer. I just use a subgroup output to isolate my monitors without the sub. What makes this possible is that the HS8 monitors have 2 inputs, so your miles may vary. When dialing your sub in, remember that less is more. I've found this to be true in just about every facet of life. Happy Mixing. 5

[128 dB (Peak)] Monitors by itself are good enough for small rooms, but if you have a bigger room, a sub is a must. It fills out the bottom frequencies and nicely rounds up the sound. Perfect for a 2.1 home cinema setup. Best matching seems to be with JBL LSR 305. If you have 308, the bass might become overpowering. 5
