The stainless steel DDS-BN22 2 x 2 Wall-Mounted Bi-Directional Mic/Line Dante Interface from RDL is a complete wall-mounted Dante audio network interface. It features two XLR mic or line inputs and two XLR mic or line outputs on the front panels. Special software is not required to configure the DDS-BN22. Each XLR input provides three switches that may be set from the front of the unit when the cover plate is not installed. The first switch enables or disables P48 phantom, second switch selects the mic or line gain range, and the third switch sets the gain. Each XLR output provides a switch to set the output to balanced professional line level or mic level.

The DDS-BN22 fits a standard US dual-gang electrical box or an RDL WB-2 back box for installations in thinner European or equivalent walls. It is PoE powered and is available with optional customized graphics.

The two XLR inputs are each converted to a separate Dante network transmit channel. Three gain settings are switch-selectable for both the mic and line input ranges to match condenser or dynamic mic levels and standard line levels.

The two Dante audio channels are converted to balanced line level on front panel XLR jacks. Each output provides +4 dBu balanced for a network digital audio level of -20 dBFS. Each output is equipped with a selector to set the output to line level or attenuate the output by 50 dB to mic level. These switches are located on the top of the chassis and are set by the installer prior to mounting the unit.

The valid PoE power and synchronization to the Dante network are indicated by green LEDs visible from the front of the unit. The DDS-BN22 features discrete mic preamplifiers for studio-quality fidelity and low-noise performance, coupled through metal XLR jacks housed in a stainless steel chassis with stainless steel Decora front plates.

Q: 1. Can this mic be used on samsung galaxy s5 ? The jack on S5 is on the top so would that be a issue ? If yes how to resolve it ?

A: I dont think it would be an issue so long as the jack is not over the camera. If it is then the microphone would cover the camera when attached. I have a galaxy s6 (jack at the bottom) and it works perfectly with my cinema fv-5 app.

Q: 2. Hi Dan, does the headphone output of the RedNet X2P show up on the Dante network? or do i have to purchase the RedNet AM2?

A: You are correct, you need to purchase the Rednet AM2 for full control of the headphone out put on a Dante network. Thank you for shopping at B&H!

Q: 3. Hi. How can I use this as a desktop interface. What extra gear do I need to buy to just be able to connect it to my Mac and use as a desktop interface. Thx.

A: This does not connect to your computer via USB like other interfaces. This runs on Dante, so you would need an unmanaged network switch like this one to be able to connect it to your computer. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1499551-REG/netgear_gs308_300pas_gs308_8_port_gigabit_ethernet.html

Q: 4. Does this Wall Mount work with Condenser Mics that require phantom power?

A: Yes it will pass phantom power if your mixer has Phantom power or you purchase the phantom power injector module from RDL

Q: 5. Can you route (via Dante Controller) separately to Headphone and Line Out? As in, are they separate Dante Receivers, or do you send it one signal and both headphone and line out get the same signal?

A: The AM2 has 2 channel I/O which means you can both listen to , and monitor 2 Dante channels. There is no way to split them up between the headphone out and line out.Thank you for your question.

Q: 6. Is this product TAA complaint?

A: The RDL STA-2A Dual High-Gain Line Amplifier Made in the U.S.A. and is TAA Compliant.

Q: 7. Can this mic be used with Zoom or FaceTime for live-streaming a wedding? Also how far (distance wise) can this mic be setup to pickup good audio of the priest & couple?

A: No, unfortunately the VideoMic Me does not work for livestreaming.through Zoom or FaceTime on the iPhone. According to Apple, external mics do not work with iOS for video conferencing apps, although they can be used with iOS for telephone-type apps without video. For live video streaming on the iPhone, only the built-in mic will work. However, you can use the VideoMic Me for recording audio with video on the iPhone. The mic is designed to be a "selfie" style mic and will pick up audio from up to approximately 12 feet away, depending on the environment.

Q: 8. I would like this by Friday, for an event. Given its out of stock, can you offer an alternative.

A: Ampridge MightyMic S iPhone Shotgun Video Microphone B&H # AMMIGHTYMICS :

Q: 9. Could the flex mount be removed to mount on cameras instead of phones? If not, would there be any downside to cutting off the flex mount so it could fit?

A: Hi Caleb, no the VideoMic Me won't connect direct to cameras as the connection is a TRRS plug designed for smart phones. The VideoMicro is essentially the same microphone but designed to sit on-camera. a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1183909-REG/rode_videomicro_compact_on_camera.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1183909-REG/rode_videomicro_compact_on_camera.html/a

Q: 10. What is the round latency spec for each sample rate?

A: Roundtrip latency would be calculated by having an analog conversion and back again. The Focusrite RedNet PCIeNX Dante PCIe Dante Interface Card does not have any analog IO, so to measure roundtrip, it would need to be paired with another device to measure, which would also add to the latency time. Being that all analog IO has slightly different latency specs, Focusrite did not want to release a spec based on a specific analog IO’s latency spec along with the cards. This is why Focusrite uses the terminology 'ultra-low roundtrip latency'.

[24-bit] I found these because I needed a more affordable Dante interface for Webex Room Kit integrations with Ceiling Conference Microphones using Dante. For Webex Room kits, they only accept Mic Level inputs so the switchable line level to mic level worked perfectly.
It only needed a $11 of parts with a TRRS 4 pin Phoenix adapter and a female XLR pigtail.
Works perfectly, sounds great, much cheaper than the alternative.
