Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. If I buy this system can I use it for any other lenses that I have with included polarizer by just getting the other adapter rings?

A: Yes, with the correct size adapter ring you will be able to mount this onto your other lenses.

Q: 2. Is this ring adapter compatible with Lee filter holder?

A: This adapter ring is compatible with FotodioX and Cokin Z Pro filter holders only.

Q: 3. Hello. Can I use thes adapter ring with NISI V2-II 100mm filter holder?

A: Unfortunately no, it is not designed or rated for use with the Nisi filter system. It likely will not fit and is in no way guaranteed to.

Q: 4. I often use wide angles, between 16-24mm for long exposures using a ND filter. My current Tiffen 82mm variable ND filter will show vignetting. Will it be less so, or non existent with this system..Is it wide enough?

A: While specifics depend on the camera, the sensor and the actual lens, it can be said in general that 100mm filters do not vignette on any lens they are mounted on.

Q: 5. Do the Lee filters work with this base? The 100mm with gaskets and the 100x150mm

A: I have no direct experience but have been doing some research. If you look at the Wine Country Camera website FAQs http://www.winecountry.camera/faqs/, there is this statement, so I presume that the holder generally works for Lee filters: Service Advisory: We are noticing that some Lee grads have been produced at a thickness outside of their specification. If you experience difficulty installing your grad, contact us immediately and we will resolve it for you.

Q: 6. Do these NDs have IR Cut on them already and how good is the IR cut if so?

A: These are high quality filters that all have IR Attenuation.

Q: 7. Is this threaded? What filter size will fit the WI150ADP021 holder for the Nikon 14-24 lens?

A: The filter holder this takes is the Wine Country Camera 150mm Filter Holder and is a non-threaded clamp on. It takes 150mm filters.

Q: 8. Does this come with the circular polarizer included, or must that be purchased separately?

A: This item is without a polarizer. If you click on the link below, it will be bundled with a polarizer; https://bhpho.to/33cu954

Q: 9. The Formatt Hitech 85mm rectangular filters say they are compatible with this specific product, however, this product's specs say it only holds 84mm rectangular filters. Is the discrepancy important? What gives?

A: The Formatt Hitech 85mm rectangular filters will fit in the Cokin 84mm filter holder. There is enough wiggle room. Besides, what is a silly millimeter between competitors?

Q: 10. Can step down rings be used to mount use this holder on a 62mm lens? Hope that makes sense

A: Using a step down ring may result in vignetting. You're better off using the Wine Country Camera 62mm Adapter Ring for 100mm Filter Holder, BH #WI100ADP062 https://bhpho.to/3tCcbWu

[Aluminum] For the Pro Landscape Photographer this is a must, if you a hobbyist landscape photographer this is a must. I am using this with my medium format phase one system but can be used on any camera system. Using the vault system keeps your filters fingerprint free as well as very organized. The locking system makes using a Grad filter a snap. The CP amazing with the knob and gear system. Now you have a filter for every lens in your kit, so much cheaper than screw mount filters. They nailed it...

[Aluminum] I bought the holder and a bunch of ND filters. ND filters are otherworldly good and made of GLASS (but that is for a different review). There are some things to know here. Build quality is outstanding. The polarizer system is both clever and useful. No light leaks around the filter and you can still stack multiple filters in front of it. It comes with a very nice case. Apparently some Lee grads won't fit and WCC will help with that - but so far mine have not been an issue. Only one minor issue. If you intend on stacking multiple grads of a particular size (100x100 or 100x150) - you will need to buy more than the two vaults that come with this. They aren't expensive.
Very happy I stumbled across them. Love this product.

[Aluminum] I switched from the LEE filter system to the Wine Country Camera Filter system.

People say this is an expensive, hipster filter holder that is too expensive. I agree that it is fancy and expensive, but at the end of the day it gets the job done and I am happy.

Yes it has shiny polished wood knobs and shiny polished brass coin-shaped holders and buttons, but that doesn't hinder the operation. I’m sure it can be made much cheaper and less fancy, but this is the only version they offer.

I liked the idea of "vaults" and the built-in circular polarizer.

The vaults are basically holders for your filters. It reinforces the filter a little, allows you to not hold the filter directly (these two are just a nice advantage, not the main reason I bought these), and allows smooth operation of sliding the filter in – this is a big advantage of the Wine Country Camera Filter system over other systems.

What was frustrating about the LEE system was that it takes some force to slide in the filters - sometimes I was afraid I might break the filter. With this it's a gentle slide and you're set.

I currently use a 100x150 ND grad and a 10-stop 100x100 ND filter (Big Stopper), both from LEE with the vaults. Works fine.

The built-in polarizer is very easy to use. It is closest to your lens (helps vignetting) and can be turned after filters have been set, as the knob is distanced a bit. It is easy to use, easier than the LEE variant.

Quality of the polarizer aside, I find that the Wine Country system (built in polarizer holder and polarizer) is cheaper than the Lee system (filter holder + polarizer holder + polarizer).

The filter case/pouch that comes with the set is also nicely made - I travel a lot and hike often, so the sturdy case was a very happy surprise for me.

Again, they could have made this system cheaper and still do the same thing by eliminating the fancy stuff. But this works for me and I am happy.

[49 mm] This Item is very cheap to produce and sold at a very expensive price.
BUT every penny you invest in it is worthy. As you purchase it you are helping in the product development of a great company. If your order gets delayed or lost, Wine County Camera will gladly send you a replacement item in timely manner. The best customer service I ever experienced.

[Aluminum] This is one of the best filter holders out there. Well made, highly functional, and it looks great. The only downside is that it is a bit larger in size than most other filter holders.

[0.15 lb] I love this product. I have been using it for a few weeks now and I can not believe no other company has come up with a filter holder style like this before. Very well made, steardy, and from what I have seen it has not fallen off even when point straight at the ground with filters inside. Very good quality product.

[0.15 lb] I really like this system. One of it's benefits is it's flexibility. I had Singh-Ray and Lee ND Filters which fit perfectly into their frame for 100x100 filters. The locking mechanism is stellar which gives me the confidence that my filters won't just drop out of the bottom.
