Sound quality is ensured by a 40-bit floating point DSP engine that maximizes I/O routing and DSP mixing capability in a footprint small enough for inclusion within a control surface.

Internal FX come courtesy of 8 independent stereo Lexicon multi-effects units, each providing a choice of 14 reverbs, 7 delays, and 8 pitch shifting effects, patchable to input channels, aux outputs, and channel inserts.

BSS DPR901ii Dynamic EQ—this acclaimed industry-standard DEQ is built-in as standard with 16 instances available for inserting on any input or output channel. The DEQ can be used at the same time as the existing channel EQ and Dynamics sections.

The Vi7000 can also accommodate the Soundcraft Realtime Rack (available separately), a hardware/software unit designed in collaboration with plug-in manufacturer Universal Audio, which provides access to 74 industry-standard UAD plug-ins.

The Vistonics interface is central to the Vi7000 design philosophy, providing direct access to all functions with maximum information and visibility at all times. 16 switches and 16 rotary encoders are built into each of the five Vistonics screens, so where you look is where you control. Functions are color-coded and change according to the selected mode—and one touch of the screen is all it takes.

FaderGlow illuminates the fader track in colors that integrate with those of Vistonics II to show at a glance what function a fader is controlling at any given time. FaderGlow applies cyan, blue, and red illumination respectively to the fader track, enabling the operator to see the different output types immediately, even before reading the text labels that also exist for each fader.

The customizable Local Rack houses the system DSP (audio processing), data connections, and some direct digital and analog audio connections. It is designed to remain local to the control surface and connects via the Console-to-Local-Rack cable.

MIDI, USB, and Ethernet ports are included, along with a DVI output and AES/EBU inputs.

MADI connections for Stagebox I/O are available, along with expansion slots for additional I/O and DSP.

Expandable with a Dante card for seamless digital audio networking with Dante-enabled devices. You can also access DAWs for live multitrack recording and virtual sound checking via MADI expansion cards (Dante and MADI expansion cards available separately).

Add additional networking and expansion cards such as ADAT, AES/EBU, RockNet, 3G SDI cards, and more.

Uninterrupted performance is assured by dual redundant PSUs.

All busses to stereo: All busses can be turned to stereo without tying up two busses, providing a massive 32 stereo mix capability, perfect for mixing large monitor applications.

Four aux send points: With a total of 4 aux send points, monitor mix engineers have the flexibility to tailor mixes more closely to performers' requirements. Sends can be pre-EQ, pre-compressor, pre-fade, or post-fade on a per-channel/per-bus basis.

Aux VCA mode: VCA master faders can control the aux sends of their member channels on a per-mix basis, with a FaderGlow illuminating in white to indicate the VCA's operation on the current mix. Monitor engineers can retain control of important global elements such as ambient mics while also having a monitor mix selected and adjusting groups of sources within the current mix using the Aux-VCAs. Blue illumination of FaderGlow indicates that the VCA is controlling the global channel level to all mixes.

Auto-increase of ambient mic levels in monitor mixes between songs: Performers using in-ear monitors want to hear the audience between songs. The Vi7000 has the facility to externally control the Gate or Ducking processing from a bus in the console, so all you have to do is insert a ducker on an ambient mic with an external source of the LR bus or a spare bus, and the audience level increases automatically when the performers stop playing.

Virtual Vi offline setup: Set up your shows offline and load them into the Vi7000 via USB.

VM2 radio mic status monitoring: Monitor the status of SHURE ULX-D and QLX-D, and HiQnet-compatible AKG radio mics directly from the console surface with real-time visual displays of battery life, RF status, mic muting, and internal clipping.

Copy/Paste channel bus and FX settings: Dedicated Copy and Paste buttons on the surface allow the settings of any channel, bus, or FX section to be copied and pasted, dramatically cutting down the set up time.

Copy/Paste processing elements: Operators can drill down to copy and paste even single processing elements, and the last paste operation can always be quickly reversed with an UNDO function.

Settings library: Along with a useful library of EQ and Dynamics settings, operators can store their own settings in the console or to a USB memory stick, making initial set up and transition between shows even easier.

Sophisticated Cue List management: Allows changes to be applied to multiple cues and recall scope to be set per snapshot.

Advanced events integration: Cues can trigger or be triggered by MIDI or GPIO events, including MIDI timecode. Harman's HiQnet Venue recall function is tightly integrated within the Cue List.

Automated microphone mixing: STUDER vMIX processing is built in, with ability to seamlessly process up to four separate groups of 16 inputs, with clear and intuitive metering showing gain reduction.

Snapshot crossfades: Snapshot recalls can use crossfades to transition smoothly from one setting to the next.

ViSi Remote iPad app: Control major functions and optimize your mix from anywhere in the venue. Adjust monitor levels from the stage. Includes control of EQ Dynamics and metering overview.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. possible to connect to Soundcraft 16i stage box?

A: No, the 16i is intended for use with Soundcraft's Si series consoles. You can use the Soundcraft Mini Stagebox 16 (B&H # SOMSB) which is compatible with the Vi1000 as well as any of the Vi or Si range of consoles. The Mini Stagebox 16 connects via a MADI card fitted to the option card slot.

Q: 2. Has the SI Impact a headphone jack on the monitor section or in general?

A: The headphone jack in the bottom left front is used for main monitoring and solo of any channel(s) - fro Soundcraft: normally the LR signal but may be PFL/AFL, or other signal as set in the MONITOR system menus. Also you may patch a pair of outputs to the monitor bus for use with studio monitors.

Q: 3. How can I split the inputs for video recording?

A: The cleanest way to split the inputs would be to purchase and utilizing a DANTE option card (SO5031819V ) for the SI 40. Then with a separate purchase of DANTE Virtual Soundcard loaded on a computer, you could record up to 64 tracks of audio into a DAW to sync to a video recording later. This would require connecting the DANTE card and computer via a DANTE approved switch (BH#CISG35010K9N), and using DANTE controller to route the audio from the board to the computer. Please not that the console itself would control the overall gain level of each channel.

Q: 4. I was seeing the Soundcraft Si Impact in the Soundcraft website and i can see that this model is not compatible with the Soundcraft ViSi Remote App (only is compatible the Expresion and Performer Si series), just is compatible with the Soundcraft ViSi Listen. So its means that i cant manage all the mixing functions from an Ipad like other mixers like Presonus or Behringer, so just i can up and down levels (like a personal monitors), but i havent. all functionallity like others. Is this right or not?

A: I asked them on Twitter and Soundcraft replied that the viSi Remote does work on theimpact. Check with themOn twitter.

Q: 5. Does this board work with Protools and does it control the Protools interface?

A: You may use the Soundcraft Si Impact to record audio into protools via the USB interface. You may not however control the protools software interface because this is not a midi controller.

Q: 6. Does this mixer have green led input indicator?

A: It does not have in indicator for input, it does have indicator LED for peak on each input channel.

Q: 7. any stage box

A: You can use the Mini Stagebox 32 (SOMSB32R) or Mini Stagebox 16 (SOMSB), with the required MADI option card for the Vi1000.

Q: 8. how can i connect this to my pc and work on fl studio?. Soundcraft GB8 - 32 Mono, 4 Stereo Live Sound / Recording Console

A: An audio interface is needed in order to connect the Soundcraft GB8 to a PC set up with FL Studio. There are several options for interfaces. Ultimately, what you choose is dependent on how many audio tracks you would like to record at one time and the connection to the computer. You may consider the MOTU 24Ai as a starting point. The unit connects to a computer through USB 2.0, which provides more than enough bandwidth for the twenty-four analog channels, and when connected through AVB networking, supports hundreds of network channels.

Q: 9. Can this unit be rack mounted? I can't tell the width from their spec sheet. If not, what model would you recommend? I need 16 channels in a rack mount that can be at the top of a rack made for a mixer and would like to stick with Soundcraft. Thanks...

A: The Soundcraft GB4 is not able to be rack mounted. Currently Soundcraft offers the GB2R-16 which is a 16 input rack mountable mixer.

Q: 10. What's the difference between the Performer 3 and Expression 3 console?

A: The biggest feature difference is the built-in automated lighting controller included in the Soundcraft Si Performer 3 mixing console:The Si Performer also takes mixing out of the dark with powerful digital audio mixing facilities married to a DMX 512 controller allowing for the first time the mixing console to also run the lighting rig! 'Music & Lights; these have been partners in the entertainment and production industry since amplified sound met the electric light but until now even the simplest lighting setup would require a separate lighting controller console, road case and somewhere to put it; Soundcraft Si Performer changes everything. Empowering the console with a DMX interface, the Soundcraft Si Performer is able to utilize the power of motorised faders, Soundcraft FaderGlow and a console automation system to provide a flexible automated lighting controller ideal for schools, churches, touring theatre companies and conference productions.

[300 W] I use this product for Live TV Broadcast. It handles my audio. I have been running our channel in our cable company system for 24 years with absolute success. With this Console my Audio has improved 200%. Ive used Digital and Analog and until now never a solution has been so complete as this one. It is just amazing how much you can do with it even though its a analog console. Soundcraft like Midas is a brand that you should never hesitate to trust. It is Top of the Line gear and this specific model is a gang bargain for the price. Nothing will live up to this in this price range. I give it 5 stars and recomend everyone who needs something similir to take this option as your #1 option.

[300 W] I haven't gotten to pump a lot of volume through my amp yet, but I've played with this for several hours and I'm pretty happy with it. I need time with more volume to get my gains and levels just right and be able to make sure there's no distortion. I used the two XLR mic in and the RCA. It certainly would be nice to have a more precise way to match levels on multiple channels, but yeah this seems to be a pretty cool tiny little mixer. Does what it says. Oh and the karaoke effects work pretty well if that's your thing. Everything works.
