The Really Right Stuff BH-25 Ball Head with Screw-Knob Clampfrom Really Right Stuff BH-25 Ball Head with Screw-Knob Clampis an Arca-compatible, single action tripod head that represents the smallest and lightest ball head offering in the RRS line-up.

Despite the BH-25's small stature it's an impressively capable support, able to hold up to 8.8 lb, while standing just 2.6" tall and weighing a negligible 6.5 oz. The single action design of the head allows the user to unlock the 360° pan and the ball at the same time, facilitating completely free movement in any direction and locking in any position. The T-style lever lock assists the user when locking and unlocking the ball head by providing a large grip for maximum leverage. The T-style handle is also set on a spring loaded ratcheting joint, which allows the user to rotate the handle, freeing it of obstruction caused by large tripod baseplates.

On the technical side, the BH-25 features a few classic additions that make the head almost universally compatible and customizable. The bottom of the head features a standard 3/8"-16 mount for wide compatibility with most tripod legs, while the connecting stem features a standard 1/4"-20 thread that makes swapping quick release clamps as simple as possible. Also, to save weight, the 0.9" ball uses a hollow design, which maintains strength while adding to the BH-25's lightweight design.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this ball head come with a quick release plate?

A: Unfortunately, the BH-55 does not include a quick release plate. A suitable plate to fit most cameras to this head is the Really Right Stuff BP-CS Multi-Camera Conventional Plate, B&H # REBPCSPLATE. https://bhpho.to/33pXg7o

Q: 2. Does this truly pan 360 degrees or is panning achieved only by movement of the ball?

A: The BH-25 will pan by the movement of the ball head. The BH-30 will have a seperate panning lever. See: https://bhpho.to/2yDP42r.

Q: 3. Will this ballhead hold nikon d800 plus 80-400 mm lens?

A: The combined weight of the Nikon D800 DSLR camera and the Nikon is 5.43 lbs. As such, the would work to support your camera/lens setup. While it is personal preference, as a safety precaution, I typically like recommending tripod heads with a maximum load capacity that is 3x higher than the combined camera/lens setup weight. As such, my personal recommendation would usually be for the Really Right Stuff BH-40 Ball Head with B2-mAS Mini Clamp, B&H # REBH40PRO, or if you needed a head with a smaller base diameter, the Really Right Stuff BH-30 Ball Head with Mini Screw-Knob Clamp, B&H # REBH30PRO, is a good option, but yes, the Really Right Stuff BH-25 Ball Head would work for your usage needs.

Q: 4. Will this work on a Nikon D750 Camera?

A: Yes.

Q: 5. Will this fit on the Feisol TT-15 Mark 2 Mini Carbon Fiber Tabletop Tripod?

A: Yes, the Really Right Stuff BH-30 Ball Head with Mini Screw-Knob Clamp is compatible with the FEISOL TT-15 Mark 2 Mini Carbon Fiber Tabletop Tripod, B&H # FETT15M2.

Q: 6. does this head fit manftrtto 190cxpro4 tripod?

A: This head will fit the 190CXPRO4, but the base of the head will hang over the base of the tripod.

Q: 7. Will this support a Sony a7riii and a 24-70 f4 lens?

A: Yes, but a bigger head with a bit higher load capacity would be a better fit.

Q: 8. Will this Ball Head mount to a Manfrotto Tripod?

A: This ball head will mount to any standard 3/8" mounting screw, which is nearly all Manfrotto tripods with a removable head.

Q: 9. I am really confused as to what is needed to use this ballhead. I just bought the tripod, about to purchase a ballhead_but it doesnt come with a camera mounting plate? I look for wat I think is a mounting plate to use with my R5 and I'm not sure what I am looking at and what I am looking for. Can't find anything on the website that resembles other sites for comparison. Help

A: RRS heads do not come with plates, and they primarily recommend dedicated plates that fit your camera exactly that work with the BH55, such as these ones: https://bhpho.to/2T8XHjW https://bhpho.to/3rNsilf

Q: 10. How is this screw know compared to the lever clamp?

A: The screw and the lever are personal preferences, beyond that some users like the lever when they are shooting in cold weather and wearing gloves. The lever is much easier to use with gloves and is also quicker.

[0.5 lb] I replaced the ball head of Slik Sprint Mini II tripoed with this RRS BH-25. This combo is a pretty good travel/hiking tripod. One issue was Oben reducer bushing didn't fit well and it made a little gap between
the head base and the tripod base because Oben bushing had flat tip. RRS reducer bushing worked perfectly.

[0.5 lb] Works very well, would recommend a drop of Blue Loctite to keep ballhead from spinning if using a heavy camera.

[Ball Head] If you are in need of a small lite weight ball head that can support a full size DSLR with a medium sized lens on those remote hikes or excursions where size/weight is the major consideration, look no further than this mighty mouse.

[Ball Head] Works and fits the RRS Pocket Pod perfectly. Makes for a very small and light table top set up. Plenty strong enough for a DSLR or mirrorless and 24-120 f/4 lens. Could almost certainly hold more weight.

[Ball Head] I chose the BH-25 over the BC-18 for my RRS clamp because I can mount it in multiple spots (the BC-18 can only be mounted in one spot due to its thread). It is slightly heavier than the BC-18, but I ran into places where I could not move my clamp the way I was hoping to, and the BH-25 allowed me to mount the head a bit differently and get the shot I wanted!

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] I bought this to save weight while backpacking. When I opened the box, I had concerns because it was really small. Added a camera and lens combo that was 4.5 lbs and it held the camera in every challenging angle I could think of. I will be backpacking with a camera and lens that is 2lbs or less so this will work very well for me. It is nice to know it can support more weight.
