[2] I've been using these sticks for a few years now and they don't disappoint. One of the best purchases I've ever made. They are very lightweight and versatile. You can go extremely low, or fairly high, they also have built in retractable spiked feet, when you need extra stability. They can also be taken apart, for easy cleaning, if you get sand or a lot of dirt in the threading. They definitely aren't meant for a super heavy load, and can be somewhat time consuming to change the height, given the twist locks, but overall an excellent, don't look back kind of purchase.

[Flip Lock] This tripod exceeded my expectations. I spent many hours researching tripods and decided on this. I was in need of a video tripod to shoot wildlife video. I figured out that one with solo legs like this, as well as no spreader, would be best. This tripod is plenty tall at its maximum height for 99.99% of use. At its maximum height, with a fluid head and camera attached, the camera is too tall for me to use my viewfinder and I am just over 6 feet tall. If you change the angle of the legs to the middle option and have the legs fully extended, it is basically the perfect height to stand up to film. And at that height the spread of the legs is pretty wide, giving you a very stable base. If you adjust the leg angle to the third position, and shorten the legs completely, it is very stable and low enough to the ground to get great shots. I went with the aluminum alloy one rather than the carbon fiber because I dont believe that paying almost $200 more to save a pound in weight was worth it. You will also hear that carbon fiber is stiffer than aluminum and thus better, but in my opinion the difference is negligible in real-life usage. And I actually believe that extra pound of weight over the carbon fiber version is probably beneficial. If a tripod gets too light it loses stability. An extra pound added to 5 pounds is a 20% increase in weight! People will also try to sell you on carbon fiber because it doesnt get as hot or cold to the touch as the aluminum version does. But you can wear gloves. And it has the padding on the whole upper part of the leg which insulates you from that. So the bottom line is that this tripod is solid, stable, feels really well built, has a good instruction manual, and is well worth the cost. I highly recommend this and I am so very glad that I purchased this.

[2] I own a small Video Production Company and needed a compliment for my Manfrotto 504HD head. I use a range of camera's from DSLR's up too Epic's and Scarlet's. With that in mind i needed flexibility and strength. After doing some research and price comparisons these were the best choice. These are the best bang for your buck in this price range, and the really are not a whole lot heavier than the much more expensive miller or manfrotto Carbon Fiber versions. They are solid and well built. Easy to adjust and you can get nice and low as well. Really Great choice

[150 mm Bowl] Very pleased, worked beautifully. The height is an advantage when you need it.

[150 mm Bowl] I could ride this tripod into Valhalla with nominal damage, and still get a great shot. Love my Mille' System. PS: At 5'3 I'm going to be ripped from carrying this thing.

[Aluminum] The DS-10 is absolutely smooth. The panning is incredible for the light weight a DSLR provides. I have a rig that varies between about 8 and 12 lbs and the DS-10 balances it quickly perfectly. The fact that is raises up above my head is really nice too. I mount my SmallHD AC7 to the leg and can easily control the head and tall heights. And it goes down to like 8 inches making it just really flexible. It is a bit heavy though. The carbon fibre version was only a little less in weight and considerably more though. Overall just a really solid tripod/Fluid head and much nicer than my Manfrotto for buttery pans.

[Flip Lock] These legs are quite sturdy and are a perfect field mount for my Miller head and Sony PXW - Z150. I am looking forward to taking it out to our local Northwest River Park and photographing some wildlife. The Miller tripod seems a bit heavier than my Benro C373T but it seems less shaky and more robustly built. I don't intend to go trekking through the wilderness with it so a couple of lbs extra is no big deal for me. I am really looking forward to getting a Nikon 850 and seeing what the combo can do for landscape photography.

[Flip Lock] My Trusty tripod broke the other day, and all my attempts to revive it failed. So i had to bite the bullet and purchase a new one. I use the Solo with a 19'' Glide Track Slider and a 501 Manfroto Head on top of that. I use a 5DIII. I have the glide track directly attached to the tripod via a Manfroto 75mm half ball adapter. It is light and sets up in minutes. I cannot believe I have been working without these sticks.

[Spiked] These sticks are awesome. If you're trying to pack light these sticks are all you need. They get as low as a high hat and have three stages! The locking works nicely and the leg spikes make it very sturdy. I highly recommend these sticks.
